Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read the e-ARC. I liked this book, but it didn't blow me away, the writing is good and the ideas are interesting.

Finding True North by Linda Gask
Fascinating insight into mental health from someone who has well and truly experienced it from both sides of the fence.
Very easy to read because of the gentle, careful flow Linda creates. The book explores aspects of depression and anxiety from a personal perspective but combines this with professional expertise and experiences to highlight similarities and differences of people going through the same conditions.
I believe anyone living with a mental health condition, or trying to support someone who is, will benefit from reading this book. Whilst Linda makes it clear that everyone’s experience will be different, there will definitely be some takeaway moments for anyone searching for their own answers in this read.
This book holds the reader at arms’ length, it doesn’t try to suck you in and make you feel what the author is feeling. Instead it puts events and emotions in front of you and allows you to react. It doesn’t tell you anything is more or less important, it lets you decide.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it.
