No depth whatsoever & I really felt like Laura was trying to justify having had no real hardships in her life.

I found this book when on an absolute self-help BINGE and it was just what I was looking for. I don’t think it’s going to change my life but it fits very nicely into other books by people on a similar position to that of the author and was an enjoyable and enlightening insight.

I don't think I like self help book, so I don't want to leave a negative review as I know this has the potential to definitely help someone somewhere in the world, just not my cup of tea.

I really like Laura and looked forward to reading this. However the structural issues with the proof made it impossible to review properly.

I raced through this book, a powerful and motivating read. I highly recommend this one!

I was really looking forward to reading this book, as I'm a big fan of Laura Whitmore. I'm just not entirely sure how I feel about it now - I don't think it's a terrible book, but it could have been a lot better.

It feels a bit autobiographical, but with the same life events referred to on several occasions. Winning the competition to become the face of MTV news comes up a lot - probably too many times - although it's clear Laura is grateful for the opportunities it gave her. I thought perhaps she'd been asked to do an autobiography but felt uncomfortable doing that, so chose this approach instead. It's the self-help side of things that does the book a disservice - there's lots of non-specific advice about changing your life and becoming more confident. The overwhelming message seems to be 'just get on with it', surrounded by lots of snippets of 'give yourself a break' and 'no-one's perfect'. It's a short book, relatively speaking, so I finished it quite quickly, but nothing about it really stuck in my mind or particularly resonated with me.

I'm around the same age as Laura, so perhaps this book would work better with a younger audience? I'd say potentially older teens or early twenties. Unfortunately, Laura didn't tell me anything I didn't know or hadn't experienced already. I think this probably has more to do with the way the book's been edited, rather than any reflection on Laura as a writer. I've heard her make impassioned speeches on her radio show, so I know she's capable of great things.

All in all, just not for me. I really love the cover though.

Motivating. Empowering and a thoroughly good read.

I like Laura Whitmore anyway so I could be slightly biased but the book is written as if you’re in communication with one another.

Definitely a book to keep on your bookshelf.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

I was looking forward to reading this book, No One Can Change Your Life Except For You, and having finished it I'm still not sure what I thought. Whilst at times I quite liked this book there were other times where I wasn't enjoying it at all.

I found this book didn't seem to know what it was trying to be and ended up as somewhere between self help, autobiography and lectures. Some of the stories in the book were interesting but they didn't always feel relevant. There were a lot of political things mentioned for a self help style book, I really don't care what someone's opinions on Trump are and some sections sounded more like a lecture than I'd like in this type of book. There were good parts about the book and it was nice to read some of the more self help pages and the affirmations at the end of each chapter are a nice addition and good to encourage more positivity.

I think this book was ok but it wasn't what I expected it to be. I think it would have been better if the book was clearly either self help or biography style. Maybe it would be more enjoyable for younger readers.

I absolutely love the cover but unfortunately that is where my love ends. Whitmore has written a guidance book but it felt like a lecture a lot of the time. I did enjoy the anecdotes Whitmore includes and getting to know more about her life.

Laura Whitmore you are a wonder!!!

I was lucky enough to be given an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I have also listened to the audio book too.
I think this book should be made compulsory for all young females! Whitmore does try and make this book inclusive for both male and female readers but I do strongly feel that this book would be more relatable to females. I am a 30 something female and I got a lot from this book, but I think that younger people would get a lot from it too. This book is a manual for looking at life in a more positive light and how to be a stronger person!

I definitely got a lot from this book, and I loved the mixture of 'self-help'/'self-care' writing, along with anecdotes from Laura Whitmore's own life. It was nice to get a slightly closer look into Whitmore's early life too. She is a very private person, so there isn't too much detail but it was welcomed nevertheless. Each section ends with an affirmation, and a summary - which means that the book is good for dipping in and out as well as reading in one go (like I did!)

The audiobook is narrated by Whitmore and as I always say, when an author narrates their book (especially in non-fiction) it just brings the book to life so much more.

This book has given me so much to take away, and it is definitely one that I will reread/re-listen too. I'm sure I will get something new from it every time. I recommend this to anyone - whether you're a fan of Laura Whitmore or not. It makes you take a new stance on life, and being comfortable in your own skin!!

Thank you Laura for such a great read/listen!

This is the kind of book I WISH I had read in my late teens/twenties. It's packed full of great advice on relationships, miscarriage, friendships, religion, social media and more. I love Laura's honest and open writing style and think it's wonderful that she is sharing her experiences in this book. It's also really good to hear someone in the public eye speaking up and offering good advice on how to approach social media in a healthier way. At the end of each chapter is a 'reflection' and 'affirmation' and I thought this was a lovely way to bring each chapter to a close and give some food for thought.

I enjoyed reading this book. Many thanks to Orion and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Relatable, funny part memoir, part life advice and full of exercises of positive reflections and affirmations. Loved the great use of Wilson Phillips lyrics.

I don’t read many books of this genre but this one definitely stood out to me. It’s hugely relatable, honest and funny. There’s something for everyone in this book so definitely worth checking out.

I was very lucky to receive @thewhitmore new book “No one can change your life except for you” from @orionbooks .

Laura tells us of her own struggles from heartbreaks to body image. A lot of which we can all relate too.
She gives a raw account of her struggles, whilst using humor , it’s like sitting with a friend. Giving advice along the way.
A heartwarming read we didn’t know we needed to lift us up through lockdown! Can’t wait for the next one!

Honest and relatable. This book was a lot more self help than I expected but I found the advice welcoming and far from preachy. I especially enjoyed the manifestations at the end of each chapter. There was a lot of humour in this book which made it a lot more relatable to me, like speaking to a friend and sharing experiences as well as advice.

A gentle and uplifting feminist first read. Great advice mixed with thoughtful anecdotes and real world examples. Thought provoking, empowering and most of all enjoyable!

This read had such a nice tone to it and was packed full of anecdotes and advice - this is definitely a book I wish I'd read in my teens. There's lots of reference to modern day events (aka Covid, social media etc). Each chapter had a reflection activity and affirmation which I thought added a unique touch to the book.

I didn’t enjoy this at all, it felt like another celeb desperate to write some kind of book! It had some kind of self-help vibes to it, but there was nothing new or inspiring with it. Not for me at all.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
