This is a fantastic book, which my daughter and I really enjoyed. It has amazing illustrations, which are bright and colourful and it has different characters, journeys and scenes which you can choose to make up your own stories. We both really loved the book and we had a lot of fun with it.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fantastic book that provides endless entertainment to young children and encourages them to use their imagination and create their own narratives. I could see this being a fantastic companion for long journeys, waiting rooms or rainy days stuck in door. The illustrations are gorgeous and I love how diverse and inclusive it is, with different ethnic backgrounds and children in wheelchairs represented. This book would make a wonderful gift and I would definitely get more titles in the series.

This was so much fun! It's not a storybook - it's more of an activity book that gives you prompts children to create their own story, by first choosing a hero out of a selection of classic fantasy characters, then dressing them, choosing a journey, enemy, companions, etc. which is such a lovely idea! Plus, I adore how inclusive it is, with so many of the potential characters illustrated as Black, and the 'prince' hero option being in a wheelchair!

I wish I had this book as a child! As a child, I remember vividly loving these kinds of books where you have a lot of colourful items on one page, and you get to learn them, use them in your imagination, and just simply look at them...
You are given a question at the top that pushes you to choose the character for your story. You're also given helpful prompts all around the page, questions that can enhance your own fairy tale, words and ideas that can shape your fairy tale.
Choose the characters, what they will wear, to which fairy tale destination they will go, what kind of items they will carry with them on their adventure, choose the road and who goes with you as your trusty sidekick and so much more!
There's also this cute, little penguin with a bow and arrow that hides throughout the book, so you also get the task of finding the penguin! Extra points for that!
This entire book is a treasure, that just keeps on giving.

5 stars.
This was so much fun and such a great idea for a story book! It's more of an activity book than a novel you read from start to finish. I loved all the choices you were given to be able to make up your own story.
I know kids will enjoy this and expecually those who are creative or/and want to become authors themselves. This book, and I'm guessing the rest in this series, are fantastic for them. Even as an adult (who is definitely a kid at heart), got a lot of enjoyment out of this. It's one you can pick up again and again and have a different reading experience with. I know little Rachel would have loved to have been given this. I would have spent so much time playing with it.
I highly recommend this.
