Wedding Woes...
The third in the Molly Higgins mystery series finds our protagonist about to be married. Needless to say this will not go to plan. Apart from having to deal with a celebrity wedding, Molly also finds herself burdened with an annoying celebrity wedding planner - one that winds up dead. Let the investigations begin! Enjoyable mystery with a likeable protagonist in Molly and a colourful cast of supporting characters. Wholly entertaining escapism and a worthy addition to the series.

Thank you to netgalley and Orion for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have read a number of Kate Johnson’s books over the years and enjoyed them. I hadn’t come across this series before but I’m glad I have now!

This book is the third in the series about Molly Higgins and her fiancé and family. I haven’t read the previous two but it seems there’s a bit of a back story as Molly has a habit for coming across murders (!) but I didn’t feel that not having read the others hindered the story for me here - I do plan on reading the others though!

This was a cute murder mystery with a number of other plot lines rumbling along underneath including family dramas and love stories. However these were done well and didn’t complicate the story or cause confusion - which can often happen! I also enjoyed the story of Molly and Connor’s wedding and the humour surrounding many aspects of that - there was a good mix of comedy, romance and murder mystery to keep me gripped!

If I had one criticism I would say the resolution to the family “drama” (can’t say more without it being a spoiler!) seemed a tad rushed at the end and whilst I go in to these types of books knowing it’s a tad stretched in places as to how likely the story is - the ending to that part seemed a little too stretched for me and sort of glossed over.

However, I loved this book and would say it’s one of my favourite reads of 2021 so far!

A lovely read, a mixture of a murder mystery with a touch of romance and well-rounded characters. Also a touch of humour. I shall certainly be reading more of this author's books particularly the two previous Molly books

A good whodunit.
Molly Higgins is getting married-but of course nothing is going to plan! Marrying a celebrity brings with it a huge number of headaches no matter how down to earth Conor is. The best way to have their cake and eat it too, is to take part in a celebrity wedding show: they'll pay for everything...even if the cost is Molly's sanity.
Everything seems to be looking up, until Molly meets their assigned wedding planner, Kiranda who is possibly the most annoying person on the planet.
Thanks to NetGalley and Orion Publishing Group for giving me an advance copy.

Weddings are a nightmare. Especially when you're famous enough to need a substantial security presence, but not famous enough to afford to pay for it yourself. So you end up selling your soul to the devil of reality TV....

In Cornwall, actor Conor Blackstone and caterer Molly Higgins are finding that their forthcoming wedding preparations are turning into their biggest nightmare. Luckily, Conor has a lead in a film which is shooting locally.

But when Molly's sister Tansy stumbles across the body of their horrendous wedding planner Kiranda, the big day itself is throw into jeopardy.

But Molly can't stop herself getting involved with an investigation. Again.

Just brilliant - can't wait for the next in the series
