Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read an advance copy in return for an honest review.

When Lily ran from a fire when she was young she kept on running and did not stop. She built a transient life as a documentary filmmaker, travelling constantly. It is while she is filming the documentary that she hopes will gain her the recognition she needs to progress in her chosen field, that fate steps in and forces Lily to stay in one place for longer than a week. It is time for Lily to go home and confront the past before she can face the future.

This well composed novel tackles some serious issues and is weightier than the title suggests. But not so weighty as to spoil the enjoyment of it.

I had not read any of this author’s books before, after reading this one, I shall be on the lookout for her previous novels..

A perfect love story. Set in France , sad at times. Prehaps I would have liked to have known more about the fire. The main character Lily was complicated but as you got to know why. I would like to have known more about her mother too. Mamie was a great character. Good to read a book where money was not a problem. The ending was amazing , perfect

This is a sweet love story. Set in France it really conjures up the sights, smells and taste of the area. I did find the writing protracted at times and wanted the story to move on. I also felt it jumped from one scene to another without a lead in which I found a little disconcerting at times too. Saying that though I did enjoy it.

Lilly's conflicts in life which come from past events really come through. I liked her, though at times I did want to give her a shake. Olivier was lovely, kind, understanding and always there for Lily and her Grandmother, Mamie. The story really revolves around these three characters.

Overall this is an enjoyable read, with good characters and plenty going on.

Brilliant, captivating. A story of true love between a grandmother and her granddaughter and between really good friends - a truly happy ending despite the trials and tribulations each went through. I was captivated from the beginning. Beautifully written and a very well structured read.

This book got me hooked from the start, it was a good read about Lily. A story with a happy ending but lots in between.

I recently discovered Sophie Claire, having read her Christmas themed books this past holiday season so I was really excited to try a non Christmassy one by her. Unfortunately, this fell a little flat for me. I can’t really put my finger on why, but it was just a so so read for me. If I wasn’t reviewing it for netgalley, I may not have even finished it. I really liked Olivier, but Lily’s insistence that she didn’t need anyone really grated on me. I didn’t particularly like Lily to be honest. I wouldn’t recommend this one, it was nothing special.

Excellent read and highly recommend and couldn’t put this book down, a good book to lift your spirits with a happy ending that I won’t ruin for you, but you will be gripped from the start

A self confessed workaholic and adventure traveler, Lily is forced to take a break when she’s injured during her travels. She settle in to recover in the same seaside French village where she spent her childhood summers. It just so happens that her girlhood crush, Olivier is living next door. He’s engaged and prepared to settle down, but Lily’s arrival will turn everything on its head. A fun, sweet escapist read.
