I love Ruth Heald's books and The Wedding didn't disappoint! Set in London and Thailand the plot centres around the impending wedding of Lauren and Adam. Somebody wants to jeopardise the event and my suspicions were constantly changing. The book is pacy, with short chapters and several characters all of whom had me suspecting them at some point. I loved the setting and was fully engaged with Lauren as she attempted to find out what was going on and why. The final twist is satisfying and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Lauren and Adam think they will have the perfect wedding. They have known each other since they were young children. They have planned for this day and are ready to spend their lives together. However, as it gets closer to the wedding date, they find out that there are some family members that are not happy with this wedding.

Lauren begins to have doubts and someone keeps trying to stop the wedding with strange, but not so coincidental events. Lauren and Adam will find out that they do not know everything about each other. Lifetime secrets end up coming out. Will it be enough to stop the wedding?

I really loved the authors book, ‘The Mother’s Mistake’ so I was super excited for Netgalley and the publishers to send me an advanced copy of this book. I love the authors writing style. The main character in this book is engaged to be married, and in the process receives a nasty card in the mail that provokes fear. I love The Who-done-it plot and the thought it provokes for the reader. The author does a great job at presenting multiple options of who the culprit could be and muddying the waters. I enjoyed the book a lot but would still rate The Mothers Mistake in first place!

Loved the writing - predictable plot.
Lauren and Adam have known each other since childhood- family friends with vacations. Including the tragic death of Lauren's parents.
Someone is out to ruin their wedding- a card with a creepy message arrives in the mail. Could it be Adam's best friend, Kiera? Or a patient who wants to be intimate with Adam?
A love story of Adam and a mysterious young woman unfolds- from the last family trip to Thailand, the trip Lauren's parents died.
Great writing- kept me interested even though the plot was quite transparent.

This is a great read with an ending I didn’t see coming.
The book begins with the wedding day and someone is attacking the bride. It ends quickly so you don’t know how bad it is.
We then go back a few weeks to the lead up to the wedding and find out about Lauren and Adam.
Lauren’s parents are dead and she’s struggling to plan the wedding, and then she receives a card saying Adam doesn’t love you.
Adam tries to brush it aside but Lauren is quite worried.
Other things happen to Lauren and Adam has to admit something to her, but even with what he’s told her, they still plan to get married.
I can’t say too much as it will spoil it as there’s quite a few twists and turns in this book, which I loved.
Another great read from Ruth Heald.

Plot:
I enjoyed the plot premise overall and appreciated that no matter how many times this ‘person’ tried to destroy Lauren and Adam’s wedding, the couple managed to work through their issues and overcome any obstacle. As someone who is planning their wedding at the moment, there were many points that made me feel sick with anxiety at the thought of it happening to me. However, I did guess the twist pretty early on (even though I wasn’t set on their motive) then when I found out the ‘why’ I was a bit disappointed. It seemed pretty implausible that they would go to those lengths for that reason. What I loved though, were the red herrings that were continually placed throughout the book. Even though I was pretty set on my perpetrator early on, these definitely made me doubt myself. The setting descriptions were beautifully written, and I love the attention that was given to Thailand and the wedding ceremony.

Characters: I have to admit, I couldn’t quite jell with Lauren. I found her dramatic and vulnerable beyond belief. She seems to depend entirely on her fiancé for her emotional and physical needs. Every red herring was based solely on her own paranoia and although this seemed fine at the beginning it soon began to get old quick. I enjoyed Adam’s character, as I prefer someone who seems layered and complicated. He had a past and is trying to make up for the mistakes he made when he was younger. This meant that his character was conflicted throughout, and you could not completely trust his viewpoint. The supporting characters were believable and definitely added towards the storyline. (Even if at one point I doubted them all)


Ending comment: I definitely enjoyed this book, and it was a quick read. This wouldn’t be my favourite read of the month as I found some of the characters action a little over the top and unbelievable and I guessed the ending around halfway through the book.

Planning your wedding should be a happy time, Lauren was looking forward to marrying Adam who she has been with for the past 18 years, they were childhood sweethearts. Their wedding is now just weeks away.
Then a card comes in the post with the same photo that is on her invitations, inside the card it says “He doesn’t love you!” obviously it had no name to it so she is left guessing who sent the card.
As we get further into the book more sinister things happen, I think if it were me I would have called off the wedding before then, there was a lot of bad stuff happening that were linked to it. And did Adam love her?
This book was fast-paced and kept me wanting to read more and more, well past my bedtime, I just couldn’t put it down. Just when I thought I had cracked who the malicious person was another plot twist. Let’s just say there are a few people in the running who may have wanted to ruin things for Lauren and Adam, but I was not expecting it to be the person it actually was.

If you are looking for a twisty and suspenseful read then this is definitely for you.

This is the first book I have read by Ruth Heald and I would read more.

What a thrilling tale! This book kept me interested from beginning to end. This was full of unexpected twists and turns. I liked how the author described the scenery in Thailand, My favorite characters were Sam and Zoe. I also liked the narration style, which is usually a hit or miss with me. Sometimes you just need a twisty, mindless thriller that will suck you in and take your mind off of the real world--and that's exactly what this book is. The plot isn't earth-shattering: Lauren is getting ready to marry Adam, but someone is trying to stop their marriage from happening. Is it someone whom Adam has been keeping a secret? A friend that Lauren has always been suspicious of? Or someone else entirely?

I will say that this book had a lot of twists, and I only predicted one. I always appreciate when thriller twists are unexpected, so if you're looking for a fun weekend read, pick up this book.

The Wedding is a dual narrative domestic thriller told from the viewpoints of Lauren and Adam, our bride and groom, who are finally getting married!! After she receives a creepy card with a nasty photo on it, in the mail a month before her wedding, and someone begins terrorizing her, it becomes clear that someone is out to stop the wedding. Just how far will they go before someone gets hurt?

The Wedding was an entertaining, fast paced read and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it given that family/domestic thrillers tend to be a dime a dozen these days. I stayed engaged throughout, even though the plot was a bit predictable at times. The twist at the ending is satisfying, even if you think you know who the villian is, there is enough misdirection throughout the book to keep you guessing.

Some of the characters seem a bit flat and I didn't quite understand Adam's character or some of his actions. Skip ahead if you don't want any spoilers - but if he loves Lauren so much, why does he wait 18 years to propose? And then, only after he finds out she's pregnant with their child? Adam just came across as not the greatest guy and I spent the book wondering why Lauren wanted to marry him.

Overall, I enjoyed the book quite a bit. I would probably rate it between 3 and 3 ½ stars. I would recommend The Wedding for fans of psychological suspense, domestic thrillers, women's fiction and general fiction.

Wow - I was left speechless after reading this. I have never read a book where I was so convinced I knew who was behind all of the problems, only to find out the real culprit wasn't even in my list of contenders. My prediction changed between 3 different people so many times only to find out I wasn't even close to right. This was truly one I did not want to put down because I needed to see the rest of the story unwind. This had my emotions all over the place. At one point, I was crying happy tears at a seemingly beautiful family reunion only to be screaming at the book pages later. It was a constant rollercoaster, filled with twists and turns. This was honestly one of the best thrillers I've ever read and I will absolutely be reading more by Ruth Heald. She has such a knack for throwing you off the trail and blowing your mind with the truth. I loved the ending of this and felt justice was served. This was an amazing book. Wow, wow, wow I absolutely loved this book!
It grabbed me from the first page and I loved how it kept going back to earlier times in Thailand then back to the present day. I loved how the chapters were from either Lauren or Adam as it gave a different slant on things that were happening and had previously happened.
I loved the characters and really felt for the couple as the drama unfolded. I thought the ending was fantastic and I loved all the twists and turns throughout the book.

What a crazy, anxiety-ridden roller coaster ride this was..!!! And I loved every second of it...!!! This book was that amazing.

That was like riding a rollercoaster but on the pages of a book. I found a lot of it to be quite predictable but I enjoyed it anyway. Ruth Heald is a wonderful writer and I would definitely read more from her.

I really enjoyed this book even though it was a bit predictable. Someone is terrorising Lauren, hoping that she won't fgo ahead with the wedding. The story is told from Adam and Lauren's points of view. There's plenty of suspects to pick from and red herrings to put you off the scent. This is an enjoyable quick read which held my attention throughout. Even though i guess correctly who was sending the note, etc to Lauren, there were still a couple of surprises at the end.

This was a quick read and I found it enjoyable as all of Ruth Heald's books. So as you know a month before the wedding. Lauren begins to get ominous notes and warnings, the first being he doesn't love you. They continue to get worse as the wedding nears and up to the point where someone using her name cancels her wedding date at the church. The author throws out a lot of red herrings as who could be the culprit. It is also done from two POV's, Adam and Lauren's. At different times in the book I thought I knew who was the culprit, but I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't see this one coming. This was a quick and enjoyable read trying to figure out who the culprit was. I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC for an honest review. Thanks for the ARC. If you like psychological and mystery thrillers than I highly recommend this book.

The Wedding by Ruth Heald was a surprising family thriller involving sisters. Lauren is preparing for her upcoming wedding to Adam as bizarre things start to happen including getting a card that says “he doesn’t love you” with a creepy picture. Lauren desperately try is to find out who is trying to sabotage her wedding and why. I enjoyed the plot and the setting and most of the characters.

Brilliant book , I really enjoyed the plot it was really quite tense all the way through . When they arrived in Thailand I was speeding through it . I loved the characters and couldn’t figure out who the good guy was and I guessed wrong in the end . Not the first I’ve read from this author and won’t be the last . 5 star read
