I am in awe. This book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I loved the varying perspectives and the non-linear timeline. The writing was engaging, thrilling, fast-paced, and mysterious. I couldn’t put it down. I will be recommending this book to everyone! I cannot wait until it publishes and more people will be able to read this! 5/5 stars.

This was a great read with an unguessable plot. I like the characters and how the story unfolded.

Jessica is a single mom. Bronwyn is in high school, and bff’s with popular cheerleader Taylor. One night Bronwyn goes missing and everyone assumes that Bronwyn has run away, but Jessica doesn’t think so. A few nights before Wyn goes missing, she and Jessica have a fight about plans after high school. Jessica wants her to go to college. Wyn wants to pursue her dream of being a singer. Despite this Jessica doesn’t believe Wyn ran away. Wyn was to sing a tribute to her friend Taylor who had recently died in a car crash, but everything goes wrong.

A year later, Jessica receives a text from Wyn asking for help, saying that she has been abducted. Told her alternating narratives between Jessica now and around the time of the pep rally, and Wyn at the time of the pep rally.

The author does an amazing job of building up the tension and throwing in a twist. I could not read this fast enough!

I tried so hard to enjoy this book. First it was just to predictable for me and second it was too long. Much more info and description that needed. That can and unfortunately did take away from this book.

It was just not good for me.

This is a great read and a well detailed plot that kept me engaged from the very start.
I really liked the well thought out characters and found them to be believable. I cannot wait to read what the author brings out next.

I requested for an ARC of this book because I really enjoyed this author's debut novel. Unfortunately for me, this one fell abit flat. I just couldn't get myself really invested in the story,

This book did not grab my attention like I was hoping it would initially. Although it did pick up, the pacing and how the story is written made it hard for me to be throughly engaged in the storyline. I felt it was written more as stating the facts rather than letting the reader see how it all plays out and coming to conclusions on their own, specifically in the beginning.

Set in a small town with alternating POVs between mother and daughter, we discover the teenage daughter has gone missing and is initially suspected as runaway until events play out that tell us differently. Many characters come into play and I was definitely shocked with how it ended.

I must say the last half, especially the last few chapters picked up in pacing and is packed full of twists and turns to make this book much more enjoyable. But, overall, it was just an okay book.

One Year Gone, by Avery Bishop was a very quick read for me. It captivated me immediately and was such an interesting premise. Much of the book centered around what happened the day of the pep rally and it took a while to get those answers. The back and forth with the timeline was a bit hard to follow at times, but I really liked how the chapters were short and easy to devour. I really had to know what happened and kept reading “just one more short chapter” at a time. This was an ending that I did not see coming, at all, and I was shocked.

I requested this book on Netgalley despite knowing nothing about it and I read it in a few hours. The plot, while predictable at times, was interesting enough to keep me reading. The dual POV and timeline was also engaging.
I found both Jessica and Bronwyn lacking as characters and didn’t particularly like either of them. To me, both felt like cutouts pasted from any number of thrillers I’ve previously read. I think the book lacked a sense of urgency due to how unlikable both main characters are.
The writing also suffered from being overly descriptive and repetitive. I am also not personally a fan of too many references to social media within books as it dates itself almost immediately which is another thing this book is guilty of.
It’s a decent read to pass the time, however it’s largely forgettable and nothing groundbreaking.

This book has an interesting storylineamd it is exactly this premise that urged me to pick this one up. Also that beautiful cover, not gonna lie. I was excited to read it, and the beginning of the book was great! Those messages and the storyline kept me hooked, leaving me turning pages rapidly as to know what happens next!

The book throws light on various topics - homophobia, teenage preganancy, anxiety & mental instability. The way these topics are discussed is indeed remarkable.

It was when I got to the middle of the story that I felt it started lagging. Long chapters with context on the characters, yes, an amaze job there, but the truth got delayed very much that I felt a little irritated. I was eager to know what happened and all those unnecessary descriptions weren't helping.

Jessica is a character I loved. She is an optimistic mother, one who will go to any extends to find her daughter. She is a warrior, one almost every mother in this world is!💖

Truth be told, this book missed the mark for me. The ending was quite unrealistic, even though I was so glad that the book picked up pace by the end. One event over-riding another event over-riding yet another event didn't feel so good. And the abruptness of the last chapter left me unsettled.

I wouldn't say I wasn't surprised by the ending though, I didn't see that coming. If you are a patient reader, this book is a definite read for you! It builds slowly to it's ultimate revelation, and is quite a ride!

I have a big love for mysteries, and the premise of this book really got my attention. This is a parents worst nightmare! However, I wasn’t a fan of the mom. I don’t really know why she bugged me, but I just didn’t care for her. I did sympathize with her situation, but I just didn’t like how she acted. Overall, not a bad book, just not my favorite thriller.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I was mostly blown away by this book and the suspense had me reading late at night. Jessica's daughter Wyn went missing a year ago with no leads or hope of finding her, until she gets texts from someone saying Mom he's going to kill me. The 3rd person narrative was a little hard to read and yet I needed to know the truth. Not wanting to give anything away here. Wow. Up until the end this book was a solid 4.5 stars. I reccomend this book to readers if you like thriller and YA.

When I saw the reviews of this on Goodreads, it seemed like a split tie. People either loved it or hated it.

I LOVED IT!

It was a quick read for me, it flowed very nicely. I thought I had the twists figured out but as it turned out, I was wrong. I’m so glad I didn’t let some of the reviews scare me away because this was a great book!

I was hooked from the very start as I imagined myself in the characters positions.
I liked the well thought out plot and the array of characters.
This in turn made it difficult for me to predict anything that was coming, which is what I like in a thriller!
Each chapter going from a different point of view was a captivating way of keeping the reader invested, especially when it left you with a little cliffhanger. I just wanted more!

The ending was a tad over the top, but still believable, I really enjoyed it,

🦋 This was such a fun thriller. I had a really great time with this one. I think it was really well written and had a great plot.

🦋 The plot was very engaging and thrilling. Jessica’s determination is very well depicted throughout the story. I think she was a great mother and everything she did was very relatable.

🦋 I will also say that I really enjoyed the first half of this story. It was so engaging and I was hooked into it.

🦋 However, the way this story would go back and forth in the timeline was so boring. It dragged on way too long and I didn’t enjoy that. There is so much information that shouldn’t be there as it just makes the story drag.

🦋 Also, Wyn’s perspective was told in third person and I absolutely disliked that.

🦋 The ending was full of twists and turns, however, I think it was way too much. It went overboard with the ending. Therefore I though it was okayish.

🦋 Although I really think this story could’ve done so much better and had such a strong premise, I still enjoyed this book. I don’t think it’ll be one I’ll remember but I would still give it a shot.

If you are looking for a new thriller with twists and turns along the way, I highly recommend 'One Year Gone'. I was captivated and endlessly wanted to know more!

At first, flipping between different narrators and with so many characters names, I was a bit lost and confused. But once a few chapters in- I was invested.

The twists and turns are unexpected and I wanted to know more. I would love a follow on from this thriller as there's lots of story lines and alot of characters to unpack.

I thought the plot of this book was very intriguing. I love a good mystery and I enjoyed reading this one. The book was really well paced, with several twists and turns throughout to keep you guessing.

When I’m reading thrillers I like to be surprised and kept guessing, it’s what makes me continue reading. Unfortunately I guessed every main point leading through this book. The only part that was surprising in a way was the ending but I felt it was a little over the top. This one just wasn’t for me
