A quick easy read. . . . . . . . . . .

This book is a fun uncomplicated summer read.
It has everything a reader expects from a lighthearted contemporary romance.; two central characters overcoming obstacles to be together surrounded by a heartwarming cast of quirky and lovable family and townspeople. The setting of Mermaids point is the quintessential small town with the tourist attracting twist of mermaid lore.
Summer Kisses at Mermaids Point complies with the hallmarks of the rom-com genre making certain elements of the plot somewhat predictable, but nonetheless, this is a feel good addition to the cozy romance lover’s beach bag.
Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

The premise of "Summer Kisses at Mermaids Point" by Sarah Bennett drew me in right from the start- who doesn't love a cozy beach read about a mysterious mermaid sighting in a quaint beach town?

Laurie Morgan, our smart, spunky main character, lives a quiet, simple life running her cafe adjacent to her parents' gift shop. When Jake, the handsome reporter rolls into town to try to get the scoop on the mermaid story, the sparks start to fly between the two. Soon, they are enveloped in a sweet, enjoyable romance.

The only thing that didn't quite work for me was the conflict. Throughout the story Jake lies about why he is town and worries that telling the truth will ruin everything. Then, when Laurie's brother, Nick, ends up being part of Jake's story, it somehow has the potential to ruin the entire family, though I'm not sure why or how. But don't worry, all is forgiven within a few pages without any real conversations being had or apologies being offered. The conflict of the story seemed to be there for the sake of having a conflict.

I’ve read and enjoyed a few of Sarah Bennett’s series’ before so was super excited to see what this one had in store. I particularly like her writing style, the way she showcases her characters and effortlessly guides the reader through the plot.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

This is lovely heartwarming love story. I read this in a day. It was also lovely to read book based at the seaside which was a nice escape. The story is written from two points of view Jake the journalist and Laurie have that runs cute coffee shop next to her mum and dad shop. It’s a lovely community feel. Every one gets on with each other and knows everything about each other which sometimes is not good. Someone seen a mermaid and all of sudden the seaside resort is getting very busy due to them wanted to see the mermaid. This is where Jake comes to investigate it but he tells people he’s writing a book. I can’t wait for the second book. It was beautiful written and I give it 5 stars.
Thank you NetGalley and Sarah Bennett for letting me read this book.

You had me at Summer Kisses!

Summer Kisses at Mermaids Point is a delightful romance by the sea, full of family love, community, and two different people finding common ground in their love for each other.

Lorelai was a 23 years old coffee shop owner - have I ever been that young? - at the small village of Mermaids Point.

When a video featuring a 'real' mermaid bathing near the village became viral on all major social media outlets, the town got invaded by tourists and journalists trying to profit from the place's popularity.

With them came handsome and friendly Jake Smith, a writer looking for more information on the local legend and a quiet place to write his book. Unaccustomed to small-town life and estranged from his family, Jake was engulfed by the little village and its charms.

There was more to him and the reasons for his stay in the village. Those secrets were bound to come up in the worse possible moment.

My favorite character was Lorelai's aunt, Nerissa. I was thrilled to learn that she will be featured in the nest book in the series. She is more of an age with me, and I think there is a lot of room for old heroines to find their HEAs.

The story is romantic and sweet, full of heartwarming family moments, community, and small-town feels.

Summer Kisses at Mermaids Point is a lovely feel-good read. It checked all the right boxes on my list!

What a perfect little escape to the summer a beautiful setting.

Jake is sent to Mermaids point to report for a story of the site of a Mermaid, although he makes out he is not a journalist.

Laurie runs the local cafe and Excited at the thought of all these tourists for a glimpse of the mermaid.

Boy meets girl, a warm hearted read full of the Joy's of better times. Mermaid point just sounds magical.

Highly recommended to cheer you up on a gloomy day.

The story of Laurie and Jake.

Laurie has always lived in Mermaid's Point. The town is struggling, but then a sighting of a mermais locally starts rumours and brings people to the area. One person is Jake, an investigative reports who wants to uncover the story. He hasn't told people why he is in town, so when he and Laurie grow closer will he tell her the truth?

I received an advance copy of, Summer Kisses at Mermaids Point, by Sarah Bennett. I would of gave this book higher stars, except for the language. It was an ok story and plot but the curse words, were not needed.

A beautiful setting, great characters and a strong storyline make this a wonderful summer read

Laurie’s cakes at the cafe she runs sound delicious. Although she has a supportive loving family behind her Jake has not been so lucky. He left his domineering father behind as soon as he could but his childhood has left its mark. When he is sent to Mermaids Point by his newspaper editor to seek out a story he finds himself enjoying the village and its people, especially Laurie.

I loved the book and would recommend it but I wish it had been longer
