This is a beautifully crafted romance between Lochlan Paige a famous closeted country superstar and Vanessa a medical student. The story flowed smoothly and was relatable. The main characters had amazing chemistry and were witty. I enjoyed the secondary characters as well. I recommend 5 stars.

I received an ARC from Bold Strokes Books via NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Beautiful
Country music superstar Loc loves to write music in libraries when she is on the road. Late one night after a concert, she finds herself in the stacks of just such a place. Vanessa is a med student studying at a table near Loc when the star’s humming disturbs her. When Vanessa, who is not overly impressed with Loc’s fame, shields the woman from being recognized, Loc realizes there is definitely something special about the student, something that draws the pair together. However, with Loc so deeply in the closet and terrified of coming out what chance do they have for a chance at real happiness?

This debut novel is just wonderful. It was far too easy to care about and become emotionally invested in these characters. They are perfect together and I couldn’t help but want the best for them, feeling happy when they were and cry a bit when things go so horribly wrong. I loved the easy going feel of the writing and thought the flow of the story was spot on, not too bogged down in details yet lacking none. This is one of those tales that will stay with you long after you finish reading it. This is an author I will be keeping an eye out for as I am sure she will get even better and better!!

I enjoyed the book more than I thought I would only because I have read this type of story before but Loch and Vanessa were great characters to get immersed in. The story flowed well and I loved the secondary characters. Well written

This was a lovely romance to spend my weekend with! You'd think it's a cliche with the closeted music star meeting the ' average' person and falling in love. And ofcourse it's something that has been done before, but when it's done the way Grayson did it; with extremely likeable main characters, beautiful writing and keeping a smile on my face during most of the book then it's a cliche worth spending time on.

For anyone looking for an easy romance to escape everyday life, be sure to read about Vanessa and Lochlan. It's not a very long book, but since there are some time jumps it didn't feel overly rushed. That being said, for me, it could easily have been 100 pages longer as I wouldn't have minded more interactions between the mains, but also between the Vanessa/Lochlan and their friends. Nevertheless: loved it.

“Is this crazy?”
“Maybe.”
“Where did you come from?”
Lochlan smiled. “A library.”

Lochlan Paige, winner of multiple music awards, star of sold out shows, darling of country music wrecked the peace and quiet of a studying medical student, Vanessa Wallace, in a library one night.

The chance meeting planted a seed that grew beyond what they could each envision when they inched steadily towards each other. Unable to walk away from the connection they shared, they developed an underground relationship.

4.5 stars. The book has this fairytale touch to it but do expect some turbulences being a celebrity affair. I liked that the characters were down to earth and personable. This being a debut, I think the author hit her target by colouring the pages with romance and I’ll pick this up when I need some loving.

I just reviewed Love’s Falling Star by B.D.Grayson. Thank you NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the ARC.

"Love's Falling Star" is about the medical student Vanessa who meets the singer Lochlan Paige during a long evening in the library. She has been successful for several years and, in order not to harm her career, has not come out.

The story is beautifully written and you quickly become immersed in the worlds of Vanessa and Lochlan. At some points I would have liked the author to dive deeper into the story or show us more of the interaction between the two, but it was perfectly adequate as it was. As readers, we are taken along to learn how priorities can be set and possibly changed. I was very pleased with the book and read it in one day.

What a great book for a debut author. At least I think she is a debut author. I went to check for other books after reading this one, and was super bummed when there weren't others released. I've become a fan.

I'm usually a little wary of books that are only around 200 pages. Normally, it's an automatic sign that something will feel rushed (normally the ending) and I'll end up disappointed. Strangely enough, that wasn't the case with this book. I think it had to do with the fact that the whole book really focuses on the relationship between Lochlan and Vanessa. Time skips quite frequently, so we really focus more on their interactions than say Vanessa's studying or Lochlan's touring. Yes, we get a bit of that, but really it's more like - jump ahead to when they next see each other again. To illustrate this further, by the end of the book, 2 years have passed.

I'll keep it simple from here. Great chemistry, with a cute first meeting. It nicely deals with the tough issue of coming out when you are a megastar, and feeling like you will disappoint everyone. Some relationship drama, since you know we have to have a little in our lesbian romance novels. And I finished the book thoroughly enjoying the whole ride.

Overall, a definite buy from me and I'll be following this author so I can read the next one she puts out. Fingers crossed that it involves Mac or Spencer!

Lochlan is one of the biggest star with awards to prove it. Even though she famous and living her dream she stills like to go different libraries when she travels for shows because she likes the quiet where she can write songs.

Vanessa is pre-med student who very serious about becoming a pediatric oncologist. One day while studying at the library she gets annoy by humming and is surprise to see it’s coming from Lochlan the famous singer as they strike up a friendship both their lives are turn upside down.

I enjoy reading about both characters the chemistry was there. I like that they both were vulnerable that you feel the emotions from both of them.

From the second I started reading this book, I could not put it down. Granted this plot of closeted superstar meets and falls in love with average "Josephine" has been done more times than I can count, but B.D. Grayson has written something truly special here.

Lochlan's life was extremely public and she spent much of her time hiding who she really was. She was a singer, performer, and songwriter who did her best writing in between the shelves of various libraries throughout the world. A campus library in Raleigh is where she met Vanessa. From the moment Lochlan and Vanessa met, you could feel the pull and instant chemistry and the added bonus of Vanessa yanking Lochlan's chain a bit. made it truly memorable for both. The majority of their interactions were through social media or Facetime for the first 1/2 of the book and the more time they spent "together" the closer they got.

Both of these main characters had to really lay themselves on the line and allow themselves to be vulnerable. You could easily feel their emotions throughout. The ending was a little haphazard and rushed but I won't say anymore as I don't want to throw spoilers out there. Despite this, I absolutely loved this book and it's definitely on my re-read shelf. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Lochlan Paige is a country western superstar in her 20s. After a concert she takes a quiet break in a college library to work out a song. Vanessa Wallace, a pre-med student working late on a paper "hushes" the humming, pretty distraction. A fun beginning to a classic trope of a wealthy star and an average person (who both just happen to be beautiful).

Tropes work when they are written well. B.D. Grayson lets the characters have time to make their friendship and attraction grow which makes the relationship believable. There are fun over the top moments like a birthday surprise, but Vanessa is not overwhelmed by wealth. The main obstacle for Lochlan is can she be her real self and have the career and girl of her dreams.

The book is short and a quick read. (I wish it was a little longer.) And the positive message turns a little preachy at the end. But those are minor quibbles for a story that left me feeling happy and upbeat. Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Lochlan Paige is a country music star and she is at the top of her career. She is both, a gorgeous star that sings in front of thousands in sold out concerts and the woman that prefers to write her music alone in any quiet library she has nearby. During on of her night writing rituals in a library she meets Vanessa Wallace, a beautiful intellectual pre-med student. The attraction is undeniable and but will it be enough to get the closeted super start out and risk everything she had worked for her whole life.

This book was very well written and the characters were well developed and very easy to love. The chemistry between Loc and Vanessa was great and they were very sexy. I liked the supporting characters and I thought the author did a great job in not diving much into those characters and leaving the spotlight to the two main women. I also liked that the book moved in a fast but consistent pace so you didn't get bored.

It was a great romance book, sweet and sexy. Perfect for this valentine's season. Will be looking forward reading more from this author in the future.

Definitely would recommend!!

I finished this in one day only. I did not feel the time tbh. very enjoyable book. loved both Lochlan and Vanessa. One thing bothered me " and this is just me " , Loc was impressing her with her money and usually i don't like that idea, feels like they make things shallow. however that's just personal thing it did not effect the read to the point to make me leave it.

Honestly when i requested this I saw 5 stars. and they were well deserved. very well written

Highly recommended

thank you for the author and her team

This book is such an amazing book!

You feel the chemistry between the main characters almost immediately. It’s an easy flowing book which you can read in between your zoom class or restless quarantine naps! Such a good book I guarantee you’ll fall in love with the main characters, I even found myself smiling during all of their interactions. It’s a bit of celebrity/ average person cliche but who doesn’t love a good cliche! BD Grayson managed to take this cliche and make it her b*tch!

If I had to dive for a critique it would probably be a much needed confrontation that did happen but we didn’t get to see between Loc and her herself- I kind of found myself looking for that inner realization that nothing mattered to her more than love. It did happen but it would’ve been nice to see it written instead of insinuated or specifically written more ground breaking.

Highly recommend cant wait to see more from BD Grayson!

A very sweet romance. I am a huge fan of country music and the thrill of concerts, this book makes you feel like you are part of the story. After reading this a country artist came out as gay which made me happy because this has showed me what and how they feel making the decision to come out.
