This was a light, easy read that I kept up with through pregnancy. This isn’t a comprehensive look at pregnancy but has little tidbits, thought prompts, food, and movement ideas for each week. Was more of a journal for me as I transitioned through trimesters. Thanks to netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great week by week holistic guide and journal for pregnant people. More appropriate for individual purchase than library use.

Really wonderful and helpful guide to this first time mum. A lot of information provided without overwhelming the reader.
Helpful for gaining insights into becoming a mother and preparing for pregnancy and all the highs and lows that come with it. Easy to read chapters broken down into trimesters and months means your can read along as you grow or all in one go, without having to worry about your pregnancy.

This book wasn't for me as I couldn't take the rituals seriously. However, I would admit that it is a rather well written book that compiles information together beautifully.

As someone who is soon hoping to embark on a conception/pregnancy journey I found this book to be so informative. It is beautifully organized and contains a wealth of information. I think this would make a fantastic gift for any expectant mother or woman who hopes to become pregnant. I always try to take the most natural and holistic approach to things and this book aligns with those beliefs. This is all around a fantastic resource. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advanced copy.

This book was put to get beautifully. The breakdown of each week with different yoga practices is helpful and I can see myself using it whenever that time comes for me. I did end up skimming over some parts due to me just not being in the mind space for it but I can see myself checking back with it when the time comes.

I really love this book.
The illustrations in this book are just WOW for me, the layout makes it so easy to just flow through the book with extreme ease, I am not pregnant but want to prepare and this book does that for first time Mom's. It's very informative, it lists exercises for women to do, the journal was such a good idea, obviously, I couldn't do this as I'm not pregnant yet and I received an ARC but I would have done them separately if I was.
I already understand that pregnancy can be tough and I feel that this book would be such an asset for me, personally to be able to follow through and I like the supportive side of this book, it's like having a knowlegeable friend on board but in a good way, the Yoga thing was big for me as I'm already massively in to Yoga and it just made it feel more connective as a "self help" book.
The way each trimester was explained just made me feel at ease, I think the holistic approach really works here, especially for me, I will be buying this book to guide me through and I know I'll be able to use the spiritual and holistic approaches to guide me through without anxieties or to reduce the amount.

With thanks to Netgalley for this free ARC in return for an honest review, I really enjoyed this book and it's given me a lot of peace of mind. All opinons are my own.

Really informative book for first time mums. Helpful exercises to ease the body through pregnancy.

Not your typical pregnancy book. It gives you true to life helpful advice for any mother to be.

Takes mother back to basics in a yogi fashion. Keeping nature and all that is truly good for us as the most important part for mother and baby.

I love the layout of this book and the illustrations. It makes it very easy to navigate. I love the breakdown of different sections within each trimester with the yoga, nutrition, etc. I started this book when I was 24 weeks pregnant so I skipped the first trimester and a good portion of the second trimester sections. I had an advanced readers copy that was an ebook so I was not able to do the journal prompts in the book but I think they were great and did them in my own journal. I love that there's a birth and fourth trimester section and especially love the yoga in the birth section to help encourage labor.

I'm really looking forward to referencing this book each week as my pregnancy continues and plan to follow along with the yoga each week.

This is an absolutely fantastic guide. It is full of easy to implement strategies and ideas for a healthy pregnancy and beyond. This is one I'll return to again and again during my pregnancy. Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book.

Birthing Mama takes a holistic approach to pregnancy and looks at more 'spiritual' elements of growing a baby. I enjoyed the meditations and journal prompts and I agree that this would make a nice keepsake for a mother-to-be. It would work better as a book rather than just an e-book so that the colourful artwork could be fully enjoyed. I thought the yoga sections were quite hard to translate into practice; although experienced at yoga, I wouldn't be confident in pregnancy practicing the poses without a yoga teacher there as a guide. I'm not sure if this book teaches anything new, but it does bring together a number of different spiritual / wholesome approaches to pregnancy well.

Thanks to Storey Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this absolutely stunning book. As a journal, I will be eagerly awaiting publishing day to purchase and spend time reading (again!) and writing on the hard copy pages.
I adored the images in this book, the journey through conception to birth as a hopeful mother- to- be, the prompts for reflection and ties to yoga.
This would make for a beautiful gift as a congratulatory present to any woman who is expecting.

Birthing Mama was a very insightful read. First off, the book is beautiful. I really liked the children scheme which presents as calm and relaxing. I found it informative with good information on aligning diet and exercise for a healthy birth. Additionally, it discussed really useful techniques for muscle relaxation through the use of yoga techniques that seem easy to understand even for a yoga beginner. All throughout the book are sections for Journaling which were amazing. It was nice to have a chance to reflect on what was being discussed. I would recommend this to others.

This book was received as an ARC from Storey Publishing in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I learned so much from this book on taking the holistic approach to giving birth that I did pick up a few pointers when it's my turn to go through the journey of each trimester. I also loved that in each chapter, the book gave you an opportunity to journal throughout each trimester. Pregnancy can be a tough journey and I am happy this book gives you an outlet to let out your feelings and make the whole process much easier mentally. I also loved the warm color scheme in the layout of each page and how the book was designed intentionally to make the process easier to understand. This book will be beneficial to many families in out community and will be another great resource.

We will consider adding this title to our R Non-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Birthing Mama offers a holistic approach to the transformative experience of pregnancy. Author Corrine Andrews, a yoga teacher and pregnancy guru, guides women through each week of the nine-month journey, integrating body, mind, and spirit through reflection, yoga poses, activities, and art projects.

This book is written beautifully and contains some really good advice and tips, perfect for those expecting for the first time. I do think it would work so much better as a hardback as the format seems a little off as an e-book. As a nurse working in Maternity, this is a book I would love to share with expecting women and other nurses I work with.

This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.
