A wonderful book for those with small kitchens.

I find especially in American cookbooks and blogs there is an expectation that you have a giant kitchen and many kitchen gadgets. Counter real estate is a big issue in my flat, even when baking or cooking the same dish together it is a challenge - something will usually get stored on the bin at some point. This book starts off with tips and tricks for using your small kitchen - storage-wise and for cooking. The recipes are great, all are simple to follow and suitable for beginners or the more advanced cook. They all use a limited amount of ingredients, but the recipes are not bland due to this! Additionally, many of the recipes have tips on how to use up all of an ingredient - telling you another recipe on another page that you can use that second half of a can of coconut milk for example. It is a book not only about cooking recipes but cooking recipes that works for you and a small kitchen. It highlights leftovers, composting, and reducing food waste.

This is a perfect book to give to everyone person starting life. It has so many helpful tips for use of space and our engery. This is a good foundation to really build on. The recipes are simple but feel like it took real time.

My house isn’t a tiny house but my kitchen is on the small size. This cookbook gives tons of tips and ideas to deal with tiny kitchen problems. The recipes do not seem like they come from a tiny kitchen at all. Lots of full flavor recipes for sure. Super helpful cookbook!

Almost everyone has had the unfortunate opportunity to cook in a tiny kitchen, whether it be in an RV, a small apartment or dorm room, or a boat. Not only do most tiny kitchens have a minimum of equipment to help us, but there is never enough counter space, and we feel cramped. However it is actually possible to turn out good meals no matter what the size of the kitchen. Those who need help will love Annie Mahle’s cookbook, The Tiny Kitchen Cookbook: Strategies and Recipes for Creating Amazing Meals in Small Cooking Spaces. Not only does the cookbook include mouthwatering recipes that regular people will actually want to cook, but it includes unique recipes using trendy ingredients that will appeal to everyone with a sense of adventure, wanting something new and fun to eat.

The recipes are written in the traditional way, and the instructions are succinct and easy to follow. None of the recipes are particularly difficult, so cooks, from beginner to advanced will be able to turn out dishes that are delicious and attractive. There are appetizers, soups, salads, main dishes, and desserts in this nice cookbook, and some favorites include Baked Manchego with Toasted Almonds and a Warm Sherry Vinaigrette (innovative and absolutely delicious), Chicken, Quinoa, and Arugula with Balsamic Cherries (beautiful and tempting), Chocolate Tahini Pudding, and Caramelized Shallot, Spinach, and Comté Tartlet. There are also several excellent recipes for chicken, seafood, beef and pork.

Although there are dozens of beautiful photographs, it would have been nice to have included pictures of all of the recipes, since it’s very nice to know just what the recipe should look like.

If you have a tiny kitchen, you’ll definitely want a copy of this cookbook. Even if you have a regular or large size kitchen, the recipes are tempting enough that you’ll also want to pick up a copy.

What a fantastic book of recipes for people in smaller dwellings or who are new to cooking and may not have tons of room! It also teaches things such as: proper recycling, composting, re-using leftovers for a new meal and more!
I can't wait to try some of these recipes out!

I love the recipes in this book and I’m hard to please when it comes to recipes. The information about kitchen and organising would be very useful for people with small kitchens and don’t know how to cook. Would make an excellent gift for the young population with tiny homes. Good work!

FAB. A great little cookbook with lots of useful advice and recipes. that I haven't tried before. Love the use of natural and easy to find ingredients. I wanted to cook everything. Recommended for anyone who hasn't the time or inclination to spend hours making a meal. Lovely and recommended.

Let’s start with the cover- absolutely gorgeous. The creme brûlée is making my mouth water. The first part of the cook book gives some great organization tips for small kitchen. As well as equipment that is handy to have. I love how the recipes range from simple to complex. One of my favorite parts is how the author adds was to use up dips and dressings that go along with the meals. There’s nothing worst that throwing away unrated food. Definitely recommend this cookbook for people with tiny kitchens.

I consider myself a cookbook aficionado and love trying out new recipes and this book 'hit the spot'! I was surprised to see some of the unique recipes presented in this book and absolutely cannot wait to try all of them. At first glance, I though that this cookbook would include simple recipes fit for a 'tiny' kitchen, but nope, it is full of very impressive ones that will make you cook things you've never cooked before. It will certainly make me have new culinary experiences. Thank you to author and Net Galley for this book.!

There are some great recipes herein, with new twists on vegetarian dishes. As a longtime cook, I can tell how well some items will taste together - nicely done. The author has chosen wisely on lighter dishes, which many crave. I suggest perhaps some nutrient info, at least on grams of protein for the veg meals. There are some really great variations for food items that allow them to be used up, but prevent them from being boring (and hearing "oh, not this again…").
Regarding the poach instructions, 4-5 minutes is far too long to poach eggs. Regarding spices in smaller quantities, the author is correct in the amount of spice sold in typical jars being far too much to keep fresh/used in six months during their taste prime. Why do they still sell them like this?!
Although this book is marketed to assist with smaller cooking spaces, I really do think this is a wonderful cookbook to market for singles and couples. To get another star, I suggest more professional photos, and photos of each meal if at all possible. Foodies love meal pics!

More than just a book on how to cook in small kitchens, the advice given by Annie Mahle can be applied to kitchens of all sizes. The tips on how to minimise food waste and the options to adapt recipes with a simple change of a few ingredients.
Well laid out with lovely photos, this book will fit in the shelves of all cooks.

What a great book. It is defined as a cookbook but it is so much more as i describes how to organise a small kitchen and still be able to have the ingredients for amazing recipes. I cannot wait for this to come out in print so that I can really get in the position to cook, cook, cook lots of her recipes. With a date expiry on this book it limits the amount that I can cook beforehand.
Highly recommend this to anyone who loves to cook as it is not limited to a small kitchen.

Thank you to Author Annie Mahle for this wonderful cookbook focusing on streamlining cooking without sacrificing anything. Her ideas are very practical and easily incorporated into kitchens large and small. My plan is to take her advice in a number of areas. Starting with organization, she helped me understand how the space, the pantry, storage, equipment, spices, shelving and more can really make a difference if organized well. I love the idea of every kitchen tool having multiple purposes or making an exception if the contribution is magnificent. The next area of focus is meal planning. I loved her shopping tips, cooking the plan, and even kitchen choreography. The recipes are clear and inspiring as I have already incorporated a few and plan to try more. This book is so much more than a cookbook. It's a detailed guide on how to organise and manage your small kitchen too.

The first couple of sections are dedicated to talking about the equipment you need and why. I love how Mahle encourages you to throw away things that only have a sole purpose unless you can prove their worth. As a result, I've overhauled my own kitchen and mine's a decent size.

In the recipe/ method section, Mahle offers simple light bites that can be produced in limited space i.e. one-pot stove cooks, and In the pot recipes where you use literally one pan.

I would've liked to have seen more pictures although the book was illustrated well-enough and perhaps a wider selection of heartier meals but all in all, it's spot on. This book is a must-have for small kitchen owners. 5/5.

Annie Mahle’s love of cooking clearly shines in her Tiny Kitchen Cookbook. I do not live on a boat during the summer but do have a less than spacious kitchen. I am also a low tech cook who loves to cook but does not care for all the kitchen machinery. Annie shares her dislike of too many tools, waste and boring foods but introducing us to unique food combinations and small portions !!! She loves spices and cheeses and nuts but reminds you that you can switch it up and easily make changes based on your preferences. The spinach balls are great as is the mustardy balsamic-y pork with cabbage and potatoes . Her dessert offerings are spectacular. The photos are warm, and homey and feel like Maine .this is a great book for new ideas and starting places to create your own special foods. My Grandma always said to me to love the kitchen so my food tasted amazing ❤️❤️

This book is colorful and that's very attractive thing about it. My Mom have a book that full of her and her mom recipes, i loved it so much and copies many of them for myself.

I loved the pickles recipes so much, they reminded me of my Grandma, she usually made them in home and not just a jar, it's a big container for a year. I still remember the smell when i open it to have some 🤩🤩

I love this cookbook! This would be a good addition for anyone but especially great for a young adult moving into their first place or even an older adult moving into a smaller home. The section for how to organize would be helpful for new kitchen setups and the recipes look delicious!

This is such a cute book! And SO practical. I have a tiny apartment and there are some great tips when you are working with a small space. The recipes I consider "fancy" eating, there were some ingredients I haven't heard of before, but the instructions are easier to follow and understand.

I learned quite a few "hacks" from this excellent resource for those of us with small galley kitchens!

Certainly, prep your veggies and ingredients in advance (mise en place) but use several bowls or containers that you can STACK instead of spreading them out horizontally! Annie Mahle makes the most of her minuscule space (a galley ship kitchen!) by going VERTICAL whenever possible.

Her suggestions: have large enough cutting boards that they will fit over your sink. Hang all of your utensils and cooking pots and fry pans from hooks on or large secure pegs. Make sure that your utensils and appliances serve more than one purpose, so, no slow cookers and electric can openers when something smaller or more versatile will do. You simply do not have the storage space for "luxury" gadgets. Plan your menus for a set number of days so that you can ensure that you have the right amount of all the ingredients you will need,. She also encourages you to make more frequent shopping trips (and to buy from bulk food stores) in order to avoid having to find storage space for all of your pantry needs. These are just a few of the suggestions that you will find in this very well written, colorful cookbook.

I normally give examples of the recipes the chef presents, but suffice it to say that you will be amazed at what you can prepare with just a few staple ingredients. Snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner are all covered in this concise cookbook. I found a recipe that uses pumpkin as an ingredient. You have exotic as well as basic fare to please the most exacting or finicky eater. I highly recommend this cookbook! I'm rating this one a 5 out of 5 stars.
