I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

So Amnesia means memory loss - only the loss of a marriage that is in tatters due to his business obsession was perhaps a good things. After all, our hero can now romance his wife again - and also, of course, learn new behaviours.
So that is the trope that this story is based on and as such it does a good job of following it, with the inevitable happy ending. The one thing you know for sure, is that with a M&B novel it will be well researched, well written stylistically, and not full of the proofing errors that dog self-published books. A good editor will have checked it through and made sure the storyline follows correctly.
As such, this book delivers. And those who want a nice summer read should enjoy it.

I can’t say that I really enjoyed this story. In fact I found it difficult to read to the end. Perhaps it was that I didn’t find the characters that believable?

Can love be enough?
Charlie and Matteo had it all, the fairytale romance and wedding but then their lives started to fall apart and they filed for divorce but before that could happen Matteo was involved in a car accident and to him it’s the day before their wedding. The doctors say he needs rest and Charlie is persuaded to take him to Italy to recuperate
Charlie is an independent free spirited person who felt neglected in her marriage and forced to change and that bitterness is a key factor in the start which did at times make it harder to understand her and sympathise but as the story develops she becomes a more rounded person who I grew to love
My initial views on Matteo were influenced by Charlie but once I started to understand him he became easier to like. He is determined to change and to save his marriage especially once he realises how important it is. Those changes make him feel more real to me and more of a person who I respect
Matteo and Charlie’s story is well written and in a beautiful setting but it was difficult for me to read, mostly because it’s what happens after the fairytale and about losing your individuality which is something that I fear but I did love how the characters learnt to be themselves and what is important in life
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a romance that looks at some of the difficulties in marriage but also the power of love and dreams

Charlie is getting divorced, in six weeks time she will be completely free of her marriage and of Matteo her whirlwind groom, then a phone call changes everything. Matteo has been in a car accident and has lost his short term memory, His doctor tells Charlie that he can't have any surprises so Charlie needs to pretend that they are still married to give Matteo the chance to recover.
I liked Charlie I liked her style and her impulsiveness and I liked how they were together. This was a lovely read at a couple given another chance to fall in love all over again

An enjoyable second chance romance with likeable characters a delightful Italian backdrop. Matteo and Charlie are the very definition of 'marry in haste, repent at leisure' largely because he is a workaholic who seems more concerned with pleasing his grandfather that being there for his wife, not to mention the fact that free-spirited Charlie does not fit into the social circles frequented by her husband. Having decided to leave, Charlie is waiting for the divorce to be finalised when it transpires that Matteo has been in an accident, is asking for Charlie and apparently has no memory of their split.
Moving the story to Italy we are drawn in as Charlie tries not to talk about the events of the past year and Matteo wonders why his wife seems distant. His attempts to essentially win her back are romantic and at times touching, but you cannot help but side with Charlie as she struggles to reconcile the Matteo she sees now with the man she left behind. The writing and plotting is good and the fact the reader is shown both sides of the story is one of the strongest points of the book. The plot is enjoyable, and the fact that any chance of a happy ending remains in doubt right until the final chapter keeps the reader engaged.

We all have tropes we struggle with and amnesia is mine, but I do love a marriage in jeopardy so no harm in trying. And I’m glad I took the chance.

“There’s nothing wrong with me. I am just missing a few memories, that’s all.”

I’m not going to go into detail—some things are definitely best left for a reader to discover themselves—but I loved how Jessica Gilmore played Matteo’s memory loss from both his and Charlie’s angle. And with a romantic, intimate (despite being closed-door), low angst and fairly drama-free storyline, this couple were a joy to spend time with as they rediscover what they were too close to losing.

Winning Back His Runaway Bride is a M&B True Love novel written by Jessica Gilmore. Charlotte Samuels is about to divorce her workaholic billionaire husband, Matteo. She is, however, called to his bedside after he was involved in an accident and suffered memory loss. Charlie realises he doesn’t remember they are in the midst of getting divorced. She needs to remain aloof from him until he regains his memory then they continue with the divorce. She finds this rather difficult as she falls back in love with him!
This is a second chance at love story. Charlie isn’t a walk over, meek and mild but strong wild and impulsive. Matteo’s accident took him back to the person she fell in love with, strong, confident and full of life, not the workaholic that he morphed in to. Slowly they rebuild their trust and love.

A speedy courtship, followed by an even quicker marriage, brings forward the old saying. Act in haste, repent at leisure.

When normal business commitments can't be integrated into this very new relationship. Without the true understanding of emotional feelings and expectations, not just for the present, but the future too.

The easy way out of this situation is to divorce, but with a true love connection, the emotions win through. When after an accident and amnesia, a new understanding is reached and all the love they feel bursts forth, renewing their marriage and trust in each other.

With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story of love, commitment, everlasting happiness, and a brighter future together.

I really wanted to enjoy this book but I really struggled with it. The characters were not very likable so it was hard to care about what happens to them. It was a good idea for a story but it lacked charisma

Heartwarming and sensual second-chance romance
5 stars

I do so love a second chance romance, and I’m even more partial to one where a married couple get a second chance to get things right. So this story by Jessica Gilmore sounded perfect for me.

And it was. I really enjoyed it from beginning to end.

I admit to having preconceived notions of the kind of person Charlotte - Charlie - would be. So I was a little surprised when she was not the meek woman who fell for the bachelor billionaire. Charlie instead was fun, impulsive, quirky and someone who was determined to live her life to the fullest. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would like her - as impulsive as I anticipated her to be. I needn’t have worried as while Charlotte did have an impulsive streak, she was never thoughtless and was very self-aware. I really enjoyed her.

Matteo was everything I wanted and expected him to be. His memory loss bringing him back to a time when he was truly happy was both fantastic and heartbreaking. He was my favourite kind of hero - one who is sexy, slightly arrogant, a little grumpy over things not going exactly the way he planned but also just a lost little boy in need of a good hug.

The story didn’t really go the way I expected either, meaning that you could really see the love - and more importantly trust - building between Charlie and Matteo. There’s quite a lot of introspection by Charlie especially, but Matteo too and yet it never gets bogged down and the story always moves along at a pace. I had no problem picking up this book and finished it very quickly, always wanting to read just a little more.

As I mentioned, you really feel and see the residual feelings from Charlie and Matteo - and how much they want to rely on the love they feel. This is evident in the physical relationship between the pair. The door isn’t closed to us, and we do get some description, but it’s more sensual than sexual. It will still give you shivers and feels, however. Deliciously delightful and fit perfectly with the tone and feel of the story as a whole.

As you can tell, I really loved this book and the writing style of Jessica Gilmore - a new to me author. It was exactly what I needed - a fresh and interesting story about a couple who need to find themselves on the way back to finding each other. Nice and heartwarming.

But as much as I loved it, I’m still going to end my review on a moan. If EVER there was a book that cried out for an epilogue it was this one. I almost cannot find the words for how badly I wanted - nay, needed - an epilogue to round off the story. Fear not, it was a happily ever after… I just… epilogue. I need an epilogue, dammit!

Still 5 stars, though and a recommended read.

A really lovely adult, grown up romance. Characters who actually learn and try to improve and make things work. The amnesia trope allows Charlie and Matteo to redeem their mistakes and build their relationship. I really enjoyed it, genuinely emotional and very satisfying.

A refreshing story of two people who spend time together, listen to and accept each other’s quirks. Charlie and Matteo have a second chance when he loses his memory after a car accident, they take time away together to help him recover, not mentioning that they are weeks away from divorce. It is great to see their relationship be rekindled., reminding us to take time out for each other.
