What a wonderfully delightfully fun book! This makes for a hilarious bedtime and the children ask for me to read this book over and over again! We can’t wait for the next in the series!

Silly scenarios involving animals.

Part of a series, this adventure gives us animals in particularly silly occupations or positions, from the elephant driving a bus to meerkats playing mini-golf and piranhas in a paddling pool.

While young children would like the ideas, the text may be a little old for toddlers and pre-schoolers, with some vocabulary that will go over their heads: jaunt, knack, askew, rampage, opt in.

The rhymes sometimes feel a little forced but are rhythmic and funny to read aloud. The illustrations are amusing, with animals in various silly locations, interacting with other animals and humans and cartoon-y creatures that will grab a reader's attention.

Each page seems unconnected, a random animal in somewhere funny, and the ending brings them altogether but in a way you don't see coming. It felt confusing actually, as though there should have been clues that they would all arrive at the same place.

Apparently you can't take an elephant on holiday or have a lion on a tour bus... who knew? Haha. This is a book with fantastic illustrations and hilarious reasons as to why you can't take an elephant on holiday, in fun, short, rhyming sentences that young children will enjoy. There are many animals to meet and recognisable situations, such as a paddling pool and a fair. Children will enjoy hearing the story and looking at the pictures and it is easy for adults to have fun with their children with it as they read it.

It is perfect for bedtime or during the day to cheer them up and bring the joy of books to them.
It would be great for homes, nurseries, toddler and baby groups, libraries. It's pure joy and one you can interact with your children and just have sheer fun!

A charming tale of why you shouldn’t take an elephant on holiday.

The Illustrations were the thing that impressed me most about this book, they were visually pleasing and enjoyable to explore. I felt that some of the sentences were a bit of a stretch with regards getting them to flow well AND rhyme. But this said, some others were very clever.

I enjoyed this book and will look out for further titles written by this author.

Many thanks to the author and NetGalley for gifting me this arc in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Bouncing verses of absurdity where a rhino ruins the campsite, meerkats muck up the minigolf, and all the animals in fact – not just the elephants – show just how inappropriate they would be at the holiday resort. It was alright, but I didn't think it that fabulous to demand multiple re-reads. To that end four stars may be a bit generous, but I'll go with them for now.

A funny story about a variety of animals and different scenarios which wouldn't work for them, like taking an elephant on holiday or leaving a cheetah in charge of a campervan.

The book is full of bright, inviting illustrations that perfectly portray what is being described on the page. Meaning children will be able to revisit the story independently, with the pictures prompting them to be able to retell the story.

I think children will enjoy this and it will leave them giggling away through the pages, with the pictures perfectly complimenting the humour in the story.

I received an advanced copy of this e-book to read and review. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publishers for this opportunity.

Another great book, was really enjoyed by my daughter who managed to read it herself. Well worth a read and a must have addition to a kids bookshelf

Brilliant fun and wonderfully illustrated! This is the first in this series we have read. I was expecting it to be all about an elephant but we are introduced to a host of different animals such as cheetahs in a camper van and an Orangutan surfing. The expressions on the faces of the animals are brilliant and the colourful illustrations really bring this book to life. My daughters aged 7 and 5 and really enjoyed reading. We will be seeking out other books in the series.

Super excited to see the next one in this fabulously funny series hit the shelves. It doesn’t disappoint.
A myriad of animals in a holiday setting… what could possibly go wrong?! Delve in, and you’ll find out…
Discover an orangutan on a surfboard, piranhas in the paddling pool, and even a bison on a pedalo – that doesn’t end well! Ooops!
Filled with joyous charm, fabulous rhymes and, of course, Tazzyman’s trademark zany illustrations which leap off the page.
So. Always remember - You Can’t Take an Elephant on Holiday.
A super useful guide to what you should, and should NOT take on holiday.

I read this with my daughters tonight. We lovedthe holiday theme and the lovely illustrations- especially the ostrich stuck in the deck chair! This has a lovely rhythm and rhyme to read to younger children.

This is the latest in a brilliant series of books. 'You can't take an elephant on a bus" was one of my daughter's favourite ever picture books and the subsequent books are just as good.
This book has lots more animals in funny holiday situations that really make children laugh! My daughter loved the rhino stuck inside a tent at a campsite and was really imagining what it would be like to have piranhas in her paddling pool! The illustrations are absolutely hilarious too and so detailed! We will definitely be buying this when it comes out in May. It would be a great book to have in an Early Years or Key Stage One classroom and would really compliment a seaside/summer holiday topic at school. A must have picture book in every children's collection.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bloomsbury Publishing for this advance copy.

I received this arc via Netgalley from Bloomsbury Publishing, and what a lovely book it is.

Both my kids enjoyed the story and the pictures, I loved the rhyming style and the kids loved how the animals were doing normal human things! My children are 5 and nearly and they stayed engaged with the story until the end

Definitely one for the collection of any animal loving kiddies 💗

Take a look at what happens when different animals decide to do things that humans do.

A funny laugh out book that will keep children entertained with what is happening with each animal.

Would read well out loud and to share guessing what the animals will be doing.

This series is a firm favourite in our house, it’s a winning combination of humour and inventive beautifully done drawings. Each page is a treat with a lovely silly rhyme-but so we readable to spot all the little details in the pictures.

We always look forward to what silly activity all the animals are going to do at the end. A real classic of a series, and this latest instalment doesn’t let it down

I enjoyed the latest picture book in this fun series. The colour palette is eye-catching and I love the way there are different details to spot on each reading. Some of the family situations are spot-on and children will have fun noticing what the families are doing in familiar places, such as the beach and campsite. The use of rhyme carries the reader through the book and helps to introduce new words in a fun way.

A lovely bedtime read that made my girls really nostalgic for their seaside holidays. The illustrations made them giggle; it's such a joy to read a book where there is always a new and silly moment to discover within the pages!

Thank you NetGalley and Bloomsbury Children's Books for providing this ARC.

The illustrations in this book are quirky, detailed and funny. Children will love the animals and their antics, adults will enjoy the humour in the pictures..

It is not just about an elephant, but a whole host of animals who come along to enjoy a holiday and create havoc @long the way!

This book is a lot more than a book focusing on taking an Elephant on holiday. It's full of marvelous animals and illustrations to match. The animals have their own two pages with a four line rhyme.
This book would be perfect for younger children. They will be able to relate to the experiences of the animals e.g. building sandcastles and playing at the fair. The illustrations stop the book from appearing too babyish so younger primary school children would be able to access and enjoy this book. My daughter is three and I know she would love this as a night time story. I teach 8 year-olds and I know they would equally love this book too.

This is one of the most fun books I've read about animals, and I want to read more! I love the illustrations, the jokes, the rhymes. This would make a great read for the summer holidays!
