This book attracted my attention instantly with its beautiful, vibrantly coloured backgrounds and boldly drawn animals. The illustrations reward repeated viewings, to look closely at the wry expressions on the faces of human and animal characters alike. Combined with a rhythmic, rhyming text full of wit and humour, this will be a winner with the pupils in the Key Stage 1 classes that I currently work with. Children will want to return to this again and again, identifying the different animals and providing the rhymes for the line ends. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
