'Zoe' is caught in a dramatic accident which results in her being scooped up by an attractive paramedic in Noah. As her accident causes amnesia 'Zoe' has to recover her memories and sense of self whilst living her life. Boundaries are put under pressure as 'Zoe' is housed by Noah, as they go on a journey to discover who she was before the accident. The big twist at the end was brilliant and surprising.

Just the way I am by Jo Watson a special five-star read. This one just had that extra something special, not just Noah and his empathy or Zoe and her random facts that popped up and just made me smile. Zoe’s brain was protecting her, and you can’t help but wonder what it was and the way the story reveals details like flowers unfurling and revealing the truth behind who Zoe was before the accident that meant she forgot. The problem is flowers unfurling isn’t always pretty like we imagine, there is a flower that I believe blooms once a year and smells truly awful, in some ways the memory is like that. It may be beautiful in some ways but terrible in others. This was such a great story and showed us the great difference between empathy and sympathy as Noah shows so much empathy he really does show a great manner about how people should behave.

Just The Way I Am - Jo Watson

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review thanks to Headline Eternal and Netgalley.

'Zoe' is having a very bad day. As if getting trapped in a faulty elevator wasn't bad enough, losing her memory has made it much worse. If there's one piece of luck, it's that the paramedic on the scene, Noah, is both kind and a handsome distraction...

Now a completely blank canvas, with the help of Noah, 'Zoe' is excited to fill her world with colour, creativity and sweet and spicy food. She just knows from the tips of her toes, right to her fleek brows, that these things were all part of her make-up.

*I read this book as a standalone*

I don’t think I have ever read a book, where after a few chapters the reader is completely in the dark about the main character. In a unique twist, the reader learns about ‘Zoe’ as she learns about herself.

‘Zoe’ works with Noah to try and create her new life, but when her memories begin to return which life will she choose? This is a beautifully written story about self-discovery, second chances and love.

I have never read a book by Jo Watson, but after reading this one I will be adding more books to my never ending TBR pile.

Rating 4/5

‘Zoe’ wakes up to absolutely no memory of who she is, how old she is or even what her name is! The only thing she can cling to is Noah the paramedic - the one who squeezed her hand when she was slipping in and out of consciousness after the accident. The story takes us on the journey of ‘Zoe’ finding herself, not necessarily who she was but who she should be.

I’ve read a Jo Watson before, the Great Ex-scape and I loved it! This one did not disappoint - I loved the characters - Noah & ‘Zoe’ I don’t think anyone could read this and not fall in love with either of them. I couldn’t wait to find out what ‘Zoe’s’ brain was protecting her from, so many possibilities went through my mind. Honestly the unexpected full circle moment at the end did make me shed a tear. I loved it - and will definitely be added Becca’s & Frankie’s stories to my never ending TBR!

This cemented it for me - Jo Watson is an automatic purchase no questions asked!

After reading You, Me, Forever I couldn’t wait to read another Jo Watson book.. and as soon as I saw I could wish for the new one on NetGalley I was straight on to it and SO happy when my wish was granted.

This book was wonderful! I loved everything about it, how it linked from You, Me, Forever.. the faulty elevator. Memory loss.. this is Zoe’s story.

I enjoyed reading about ‘Zoe’ and how she got through the accident, losing her memory and not knowing who she was, where she was and not remembering anything about her life... Noah the paramedic being at the scene of the accident, let’s just say he changed a lot of things.

One thing I really did like throughout is the random facts that Zoe remembered. Definitely some interesting ones!

I loved the whole story between Zoe and Noah, he’s definitely a wonderful and caring character. Reading about how their relationship grows and how Zoe relives her life with lots of happiness and colour was so lovely and uplifting.

The ending was just lovely, the card she made, bringing a flood of memories back, but for who? I would definitely recommend this, a lovely romance with added humour!

‘Zoe’ is having a hard time. She’s lost her memories and doesn’t know who she is. With the help of Noah, the friendly paramedic who found her on her fateful day, they try to piece things back together.
Zoe goes on a real journey of self discovery in this book, and there were laughs and some tears along the way from me. It was a real feel good book!

0this book.
I loved OMG romance with a twist while also dealing with complex issues. This book made me cry in a lot of places Jo Watson writes complex really well. We follow Zen/Zoe meeting Noaha a hot paramedic twist is zoe has been in a accident and has memory loss and doesnt remember her life at all. With the help from Noha and a array of friends zoe meets she pieces her life back together all a bit with a few changes. This book deals with issues surrounding zoe in a sensitive way. Zoe goes on a journey in this book and at times it's quite dark but also comedic at times there were some funny bits in this book that made me chuckle.
I loved the ending and I will read the other 2 books and well. This was my first Jo Watson book and it will not be the last I have found my new fave Author. 5 0ut of 5 stars from me loved it.

This was the first book of Jo Watson that I have read. It was a very enjoyable rom com, parts of it made me laugh out loud as well as being an emotional roller-coaster. It went through different emotions in our human psyche and how relationships form with others.
The story revolved around a girl who had lost her memory following an accident in a lift and was finding out who she was helped by Noah who came to her rescue.
I liked it as it demonstrated the way we can change our future and not be defined by our past. The characters were great and relatable. It was nice to read about a different setting for a book, in this case South Africa.
I would definitely read another book by this author. Thank you to net galley, the publishers and Jo Watson for allowing me to read this in return for an open and honest review.

I loved, loved, loved this story!! I feel as though there aren't enough stars to give it. It's so refreshing to find a story set somewhere other than middle America or London, and the different twists and turns kept me guessing throughout. I never would've guessed the background of our heroine or what happened to her, and this kept me coming back for more; just one more chapter before bed (famous last words!). I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to others, and am now actively seeking out other books by this author

I’m a huge fan of Jo Watson, and was positively giddy to be approved for an advanced copy of her latest book. Just the way I am is the third book in the series, following the lives of three separate women following a dangerous elevator accident.

This book, the final part of the trilogy, tells the tale of...well, I won’t give spoilers here, but she cannot remember her name following a knock to the head in the accident. The main character has all sorts of feelings and emotions that she tries to navigate to regain her lost memories. She finds friendship from paramedic (and very swoony) Noah and their friendship develops through the book.

As per Jo Watsons other books, the story flows so well and is utterly addictive from the start. I was so desperate to know what had happened and what was going to happen, but as the book approached the end I didn’t want it to finish.

I absolutely loved the main character and her ‘lipstick’ references! Noah was a perfect love interest. The chemistry between the two characters was brilliant and their date night scene was electric!! I also adored the supporting characters, they were all so well written.

I’m gutted to have finished this trilogy. I now have to stalk the internet waiting for the authors next offering to be released.

A very easy 5 ⭐️ rating from me.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

Genre: Fiction / Romance

Release Date: Expected March 16th 2021

Trigger Warnings: Hospitals, Death, Illness, Sexual Imagery, Drugs, Alchohol, Injury.

"Zoe" isn't really having the best day. As if waking up in a frighteningly broken elevator isn't bad enough, she's waking up with her mind empty. Her memories are gone; all the important ones anyone. Her name, her job, her family, her hopes and dreams have vanished and left a blank slate behind. But somehow, she can still remember the most random facts about obscure foliage, not as though that helps.

By a strange twist of fate, she reconnects with Noah, the empathetic and very handsome paramedic that found her on her worst day and he offers to care for her - she can't even remember where she lives, after all. Together, they try and peice together "Zoes" new life and fill in with colour, with new hobbies and excitement. But as the final peices fall into place she finds the life she left behind wasn't colourful at all - fate has offered her a second chance but does she know how to take it?

Jo Watson is royalty when it comes to feel-good fiction that breaks and mends your heart in the best of ways - and this is no exception. A beautiful story about fate, about second and third chances and about love in it's many forms.

This was a laugh-a-minute journey of self-discovery that was far too easy to read in one sitting. Sometimes bordering on the absurd, I absolutely loved watching Zoe and Noah get into escalating antics trying to find new things to fall in love with.

Of course, it wouldn't be the same without some exceptionally steamy and sickeningly sweet romance but the part that lingers after you've turned the last page is the beauty of someone learning over again how to love themselves and what that really means.

And my favourite part? The brilliant cameos from some beloved and not-so-loved characters from the Watson universe - tying everything together with a perfect finish.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you to NetGalley and Jo Watson for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I’ve read a lot of books by Jo Watson and they’re always my go to if I’m in the mood for some gorgeous romance, therefore I couldn’t wait to give this a read.

However, whilst this is of course your typical Watson romance, let me tell you now, this book is so much more than just ‘girl meets boy’. This book will take you on a journey that touches on some very important subjects and will definitely leave you feeling emotional.

This story follows Zoe / Zenobia who we are briefly introduced to at the end of Truly, Madly, Like Me (If you’ve not read that then you absolutely should!) as we see what happened to her after the elevator accident.

With her memory gone, to the point she doesn’t even know her own name, the reader joins her on her road to recovery as she tries to piece together memories, from the food she loves to the types of clothes she wears. This of course is all done with the help of the gorgeous Noah. Along the way there are some brilliant and hilarious moments as she goes about reliving her teenage years again too.

The romance is there as always and is guaranteed to make you swoon, but as already mentioned this book runs so much deeper than that and my absolute favourite part is near the end (no spoilers) when something is revealed between them both and I actually got goosebumps. I just did not see it coming at all – I really wasn’t expecting a moment like that but it was absolutely beautiful and the perfect way to wrap everything up.

Overall this was an intricate and delicate romance with themes of loss, love, self discovery and a little bit of fate thrown in too!

Count me pleasantly surprised, this was such a fun read. I loved the tropes, the funny moments and NOAH. The only reason I’m not rating this higher is because our boy Noah set some unattainable standards. Some of it came across a little too unrealistic. But regardless, it was such a fun read and I flew through it.

I've known for some time that Jo Watson is a fabulous author, but I have a feeling her writing has gone up another level with this book.

I am sitting here open mouthed at how it turned out, but that is all I'm going to say about the ending other than it's amazing how often you can be surprised during one book.

It is not often I start a book with a character that has been in an elevator accident, and has in fact lost her memory completely. She can't remember her name but seems to know loads of random facts, can understand a language she wasn't even aware of, and basically needs to learn about her self all over again.

Well while hoping her memory comes back. There are all manner of feelings she has towards certain situations that she can't initially explain but she is drawn, perhaps as he was the paramedic on duty, to Noah and feels safe around him.

What I can't imagine anyone would guess, is when we discover he true identity, just how different the reality is to what she believes she might be like. And when you eventually discover the reasoning for it, my heart tore in two.

Noah is absolutely fabulous throughout this book, and if I ever found myself in a similar situation it is him I would want! There is so much I want to say about Noah but I don't really want to spoil the book either, suffice to say he is a rare breed of man, caring, considerate, sexy and copes admirably when a woman he has only met once turns up on his doorstep, as she literally has no idea of anyone else in her life.

One of the messages from this book is sometimes things are just meant to be, fated for reason, even if you aren't aware of it at the time. And it feels so true, as at the point I learnt I had been approved for this book on Netgalley, I was slightly despairing, hadn't been keen on the previous book I'd finished, and then gave up on another, and just couldn't work out what on earth to read next. But the second I saw the email with this book I just knew it had to be my next read, and that there was no way Jo Watson would let me down. It just felt right to read it instantly and I'm so glad I listened to my intuition as it has reinvigorated me.

Without a doubt Jo Watson's best book so far, and I've almost read all of them. There is far more to this story than may first meet the eye and I was impressed with just how much was fitted in, and how the pacing seemed spot on and so perfect.

Just a wonderful book from a talented author.

Thank you to Headline Eternal and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This book really has given me all the feels. I've laughed, I've cried and there are moments of this book so much deeper than I expected.
I absolutely adore Noah, what a stunning main character. He is definitely a perfect male and what a character to meet in February.
This book has taken me on a mega rollercoaster and it has been completely mixed emotions. Lots of happy and some quite emotional.
I have loved the journey throughout this one. The contrast been Zoe and Zenobia is polar opposites. However, I have loved her journey of self discovery and wanting a change.
I have read ALL of Jo Watson's previous books and this is quite possible my new favourite. I adore how gorgeous the cover is, the plot is equally as fantastic.
This is a definite five star read. I highly recommend this book.
