I apologise for the time past the archive date, I simply forgot that I had been selected for this book.
I struggled to read this book. Thinking that a different chapter in the classic novel would be a fun little read I embarked on my attempt just to find that there was very little character growth for Lydia from the beloved Austin novel. Now grown up a bit Lydia was wild and very childish at times.

I wasn’t a fan of this book at all. It was written so badly.
The plot was lacking. There was little to no characterisation

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Picked this up to see if Lydia Bennett-Wickham would end up growing up and becoming an adult worthy of that title. But unfortunately, she became more and more flighty and just as insufferable as she was ever supposed to be. Some growth would've been welcome, but that wasn't present anywhere in this tale

I found it quite entertaining and it made me laugh. I'm not a fan of the characters or the style of writing but it's entertaining.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I would love to have read and reviewed this book however the download did not work properly. It skipped from page one to the end!
I loved the premise and love historical fiction so am sad not to be able to read and review properly!

Other reviews of this novel seem to be quite negative and I was prepared to feel the same. However, what I read was a witty, humorous and fantastical tale from the perspective of Lydia Bennet, Elizabeth's younger sister.
I loved the vivid descriptions of the interiors, the gowns and the bumpy carriage rides. The dialogue was hilarious, - especially Lydia's internal dialogue!
Tongue-in-cheek and fun, this novel is perfect for anyone who just wants to escape the trials of modern life and enter a world of capers and eventful journeys across Europe.
I'm giving this 5*s because I really felt this novel was what I needed at the time of reading. It allowed me to totally disconnect from reality and just have a good laugh!
Thank you to Netgalley and Sphere for the e-ARC.

I enjoy reading Pride and Prejudice spin offs and this one was fun and flighty. It's based around Lydia Bennett, now Wickham, and tells her story following the end of P&P. It's fun and a good holiday or rainy afternoon read.

One star is for books I didn't finish, this one is not for me.
Perhaps Lydia as a character is supposed to be laughed at for her silliness and being shallow? I'm not sure, but inconsistencies (the story starts September 1815, Christmas, New Year and April being mentioned, yet it continues with one of the following chapters mentioning January 1816) on top of the shallowness that agitated me was a bit too much.

Probably more for fans of Bridgerton than staunch Austenites, this was nonetheless quite good fun. The story follows the adventures and misadventures of the newly widowed Mrs Wickham, aka Lydia Bennet of Pride and Prejudice fame, as she romps through London, Paris, Bath and beyond seeking fame and fortune.
I quite enjoyed this novel - Lydia comes across as selfish and wayward, but I don't think that is in any way out of character for how she was described in Pride and Prejudice, and as she married at 16 and has had no positive guiding influence since, why would she be expected to change?
The trouble for me was that it started off at a roaring pace and then lost its way about halfway through - it felt as if the various episodes throughout the book would have been better happening in the reverse order so there was more of a build up rather than an anticlimax.

Don't bother, this is honestly, literally just about 6-7 pages of punctuation marks and names of fonts, there isn't a single sentence relating to the story, thus there is nothing to review. It's a shame as the story sounded quite interesting so I was really looking forward to trying this
