We catch up with Madison James and Jonas Quinn three months after the end of The Escape. Madison has recovered physically from her wounds but it's clear she is still struggling emotionally with not knowing who shot her and how they're linked to her late husband's killer.

She isn't given any time to quietly settle back into the job as the partners are immediately called into a bank robbery that is going down. These robbers serve to form the backbone of the plot for the story. On escaping capture, the foursome thrill seekers separate and send Madison and Jonas on a series of illusive chases as they endeavour to avoid jail time.

Like all her stories, Harris keeps the pace fast as we move from scene to scene on the hunt for these wily robbers. Meanwhile, the connection between our two US Marshalls continues to develop and grow and for one of them in particular, taking their friendship to something more becomes increasingly desirable. I like how Harris is developing this relationship. It's a bit like those classic old detective TV shows where the romantic tension between the two leads is ever present and you wonder that it's just a matter of time before they get together.

I loved racing all around Seattle and exploring its sights as well as some pretty islands further north close to the Canadian border.

We're left hanging at the end of the story on all levels which makes me want the third and final instalment to arrive quickly so I can see how everything gets wrapped up.

I received an early ebook copy of the book from the publisher as part of their Revell Reads Program via NetGalley with not expectation of a positive review.

I loved this intense, suspenseful read! I recommend reading the books in order, since there is an on going mystery with the murder of the main character's husband from several years before the series started. I thought that this story was hard to put down!

Rating 4.5

If you are looking for a thrilling, adrenaline-rush, fast-paced romantic suspense which keeps you guessing and holding your breath a few times till the end, this book should be added to your TBR list and deserves a place high up in order to read soon.

This book follows the same US Marshalls, Madison and Jonas from Book one, with the murder plot of Madison's husband continuing from book one, but the main plot of trying to catch the bank robbers being a new and exciting plot which was concluded. This story was unexpected, I've never read about bank robbers like these and it made for a refreshing mystery. There was however a few things I've felt I did not receive 100% closure on (though it might just be me).

We also see development in Madison and Jonas as individuals, but also as partners and the ending left this reader longing for more. Even though they don't see it yet fully, Madison and Jonas compliment each other perfectly.

I'm excited to see what will happen in book three.

This was an amazing sequel to The Escape, the first book in the US Marshalls Series!
An edge of your seat heart-gripping story that you won’t be able to put down from page one!
This book can be read as a standalone, but I strongly recommend you to read The Escape first. That way, you get to know better Madison and Jonas as they start their first mission together: to take a pair of criminals to another city. Wow! But this is about the second book, The Chase, and it was just as awesome as the first!
Madison James was shot at the end of the first book. She doesn’t remember the shocking moment, she has no idea who wants her killed, but she knows it’s the same person that murdered her husband five years ago. This is a source of insecurity for her. Madison is not safe. And Jonas Quinn will do anything to protect her. They are not a couple, they both have past wounds that are not fully healed yet, but they’ve become very good friends, and he’s terrified of losing Madison, especially now that she’s ready to get back out to the field.
When Jonas gets called after a federal warrant on a man connected to a string of bank robberies, Madison is ready to join him in this new mission. But they discover a bank robbery that has gone terribly wrong, and the fugitives escaped. They are not only after the money, they are dangerous because they crave taking risks and adrenaline rushes, and both Madison and Jonas have had enough of those lately. But they need to catch them before somebody -someone close to them- may get hurt, or die.
So, this is Madison and Jonas journey from Seattle to San Juan Islands on an epic chase that will put them on risk with deadly events at every turn. But the only things that are at risk are not only their lives, but their hearts also, as feelings grow deeper in moments when they have no time for romance but to focus on bringing down the four fugitives and ending their crimes.
This was a great romantic suspense! It had everything: intrigue, danger, heart-stopping moments, adrenaline rush, and I especially loved the character development and the sweet romance that is growing between the main characters. They both are in a process of healing, and they both will help one another in dealing with the demons of their past: the guilt, the anger, the lack of trust. There’s a beautiful inspirational message behind of letting God heal your brokenness, trusting Him despite things not going as you expect or deserve, forgiving oneself and letting God’s grace mend your heart and guide you with security toward the right path.
I liked getting to know Madison and Jonas even better, I love their personalities and they feel relatable to me. Madison’s courage and selflessness, her love of her family. Jonas's bravery amazes me too, and he has a kind and compassionate heart, that makes him vulnerable and that tore a bit at my heart. I fell so in love with him.
The ending leaves you with many questions still and I can’t wait for the next book when the final conclusion to Madison and Jonas journey will finally arrive. If only we didn’t have to wait so much! I’ll need lots of books to keep me occupied in the meanwhile!
This is definitely a book I recommend to Romantic Suspense lovers! You won’t be disappointed, but if you haven’t, try reading The Escape first.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the Publisher via NetGalley.. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

This was my first time reading a book by Lisa Harris. I was surprised how quickly I got into the story due to the fact the main characters were introduced in an earlier book - The Escape.

It had everything I look for: romance, mystery and action! The characters were realistic and easily liked. Jonas not only sounds like a good guy but good looking. Madison is beautiful and intelligent. They make a good team. But can it go beyond a working relationship? They each have a past they can't forget. Do they have a future?

I will be looking for the next book as I know this story can't just end like it did. It better not!

I received this book for free from Revel Books to give a honest review.

This action-packed novel kept me glued to my seat and took me for a ride!

Madison and Jonas are back in the second installment of the US Marshals series. I didn't read the first book, and while I always recommend reading a series in order, you could read this as a stand-alone...but I think you might have better context for some of what Madison is dealing with if you read the first book.

There has been a series of bank robberies and Madison and Jonas have been provided with the identity of someone that might have been involved. What ensues is a chase (haha see what I did there?!) against the clock and the perpetrators to catch them before more people are harmed or they get away and are not brought to justice for their crimes.

I loved the fast pace of this novel taking me across Seattle and over to the San Juan Islands. I wasn't sure what to expect next and enjoyed how the mystery unfolded. I was quite surprised by a few twists with the robbers and this author knows how to keep you on edge wondering what could possibly happen next.

There is a bit of romance between Madison and Jonas, or at least the possibility of trying a relationship to see if anything might come of it. I also appreciated the inspirational discussions and putting their faith in a higher power and letting things happen as they might. These discussions were also good for Jonas considering what happened with an old girlfriend and believing that all things happen for a reason. I think it also gave him some closure once he took some time to mentally process what happened.

There is also the case of who killed Madison's husband? This has created a mental block for Madison but we see some glimpses of what might have happened but we will have to wait for the next book (or books) to learn the truth.

This is a series that I will be looking forward to and watching the relationship between Madison and Jonas expand and what case could come their way next. We give it 5 paws up.

This is a fast paced, action packed read.
The first book in the series set the background of US Marshal Madison, whose husband was murdered, and then Madison herself is attacked and shot in her own home, but she cannot remember any clear clues to work with.
While Madison battles guilt and uncertainty, she has great respect for her partner, Jonas, who is just as determined to stay at a friendship level.
The bad guys are one step ahead of the US Marshals as the story unfolds. Chasing criminals is not always easy or without personal danger. The author does a great job detailing how law enforcement gets tips and works toward apprehending the criminals.

US Marshal Madison James is back in action after being shot (see book 1 in the series for previous events). Her first day at work with her partner, Jonas Quinn, proves to be much more than she’d bargained for. A bank robbery turned deadly leads to a chase to catch the culprits as the fugitives try to escape and hide out in Seattle. Twists in the intriguing story add to the suspense and tension. And the overarching plotline about her husband’s murderer continues through the series. This compelling novel doesn’t lack in excitement plus the main characters are growing personally and in their relationship as they work through their painful pasts. I look forward to the next book as their story continues. I received a copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own. #TheChase #NetGalley

I'm not sure if this was really long or if I was really slow, but sometimes I felt like I'd never get through it. Madison is a US Marshall, and the story starts on her first day back at work after a gunshot wound three months earlier. Apparently, there was a book that came before this one that I hadn't read, even though I am a Lisa Harris fan.

The plot is Madison and her male marshall partner trying to catch some bank robbers. Honestly, I could have done without the romance between the two which seemed to distract from the crime solving, and then the ending didn't feel like an ending at all. So I guess we have to read a future installment to get more of the story.

Five stars, anyway, because it was clean and Christian, and because Lisa Harris is an excellent writer.

When a series follows the same characters through all three books, the second book often becomes a bridge between the first and third. You are introduced in book one and book three is the thrilling conclusion. Poor book two sometimes is left out.

I felt like this was very much a bridge book. The case, while interesting, seemed secondary, almost like a supporting cast character rather than the driving pulse of the book. I would have liked to spread the character development out more between the books rather than packing so much into this one.

Both Jonas and Madison have unresolved pain from their pasts - Madison over her husband's death and Jonas over the tragedy that took his former partner out of service. This book covered a lot of soul searching and discovery and healing for them in those areas. There were lots of good thoughts, questions, and discussions. I especially liked how it was emphasized that we don't compare or quantify grief, pain, and loss. I had to learn that in high school and I've been trying to teach it to some younger girls as well. It's something the Church needs to hear, I think.

It looks like some progress is being made on Luke's case. I am looking forward to the conclusion of the series in book three.

The second book in the US Marshals book picks up right where the first left off with all the action, drama, suspense and romance a book lover could ask for!

After being shot three months ago, US Marshal Madison James still doesn’t remember who shot her; the one thing she does know is it is time for her to get back to work. Her partner, Jonas Quinn doesn’t want to push Madison on her first day back but when they’re assigned serve a federal warrant to a man connected to several bank robberies. Together they end up at a bank robbery in progress where nothing is going as planned. The bank robbers are all about the thrill and not just the money. When they back the robbers into a corner, all their plans start to spin out making them even more dangerous and making it the most perilous case they have worked together.

The US Marshals books are by far my favorite by Lisa Harris. I loved the first in the series and the second was just as good. The Chase follows the same main characters, Madison and Jonas, whereas a lot of romantic suspense books will change main characters with each new book in a series this one gives us more of the same, a fact I greatly enjoyed. We really get to see some great character development and depth for Madison and Jonas. There is a lot going on with Madison and the mystery of who killed her husband and why are they still taunting her that helps drive the story and made me have a deeper connection with her as a character. I really enjoy these books because they are fast paced, engaging, great tension and Harris has got me invested in the characters. By keeping the same main characters instead of having new ones with each new book, I am much more involved and determined to see how they pull through the troubles they encounter. There is so much more to develop with them and much more story to tell, I really hope this series goes on for several more books. I recommend this book to those that love a great romantic suspense, but I do recommend reading The Escape first and then diving into The Chase.

I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.

Another great story by Lisa Harris! Her characters have depth and an evolving relationship with the Lord. The suspense and mystery are believable and engrossing.

The "US Marshals Series" from bestselling and award-winning author Lisa Harris is a terrific, action-packed, inspirational contemporary romantic suspense series. It has religious themes but not so much that even non-Christians can't read it. I love everything Lisa writes and this was no exception.

The continuing story of Deputy US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn is intense and fast-paced. Harris provides great suspense with a touch of romance, or in this case the hope of romance. While each book in this series includes a stand-alone mystery, the thread of solving the murder of Madison's husband runs throughout the series. Harris's writing undoubtedly will keep readers coming back for more, but this continuing thread assures it. Harris's romantic suspense will appeal to readers of both Christian and secular fiction. I highly recommend this book, this series, and this author.

I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of The Chase from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

The Chase is the second book in the riveting US Marshals Series by Lisa Harris. US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are on the hunt for some unusual bank robbers in this strong law enforcement thriller. The chase is exciting but their personal lives are just as gripping. I had no doubt that the US Marshal would prevail in the end but their personal lives is not as sure a thing as far as a happily-ever-after in this world. Their personal determination is admirable but their reliance on God is even more so. This is Christian action thriller at its best.

Also there is a thread concerning the death of Madison’s husband five years earlier that continues in this book from the first book. Because of Madison’s amnesia after being shot the reader can know more than she remembers by reading the first book in the series, The Escape. I went back and reread that scene when starting The Chase. Both are great books so I can highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys excellent suspenseful action adventure books without the sex or the bad language.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a digital ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.

I enjoyed catching up with US Deputy Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn for another exciting romantic suspense. Fortunately, I find it easier to catch up with them than it is for them to catch up with the fugitives. But the story would be boring if catching the fugitives was as simple as waiting for the next book. I like the way the author weaves in the descriptions of some beautiful scenic areas around Seattle, Washington. For someone who has never visited there, it makes it possible to picture the sights in my mind and makes me want to go some day. I find it almost beyond belief that the fugitives have been committing crimes simply for the challenge. It makes one wonder if there are real people who have gotten so bored with a ho-hum life that they have turned to criminal activities for the excitement. I liked the character near the end of the book who shares my first name. Although Madison has not asked him for advice, he offers her some powerful words of wisdom that anyone in her situation would be well advised to heed. I hope to get the opportunity to read more about Madison and Jonas in future books. I received an advance copy of this book from the author via NetGalley. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own. #TheChase #NetGalley

I love this series! "The Chase" catches us up with the US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn who we met in author Lisa Harris' "The Escape" and continues their story as they fight crime and catch criminals while trying to understand their growing attraction and deal with past trauma.

Such timeless quotes in this story!
"Assumptions. That was when things went wrong."
"Run the race that the good Lord set out for you to run."
"I just don't want you to hold back because of fear."
"Sometimes, we just have to thank the Good Lord for bringing blessings into our lives, and then when it's time, we have to let them go."

I binge-read The Escape and The Chase and now cannot wait for The Catch!
I highly recommend The Chase and the whole US Marshals series where we follow Madison and Jonas as they work together on high octane cases that will have you turning pages late into the night!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy of "The Chase". All opinions are my own.

This is the second book in the series and I didn't read the first not knowing it continued from book one. If I had realized that, I would have read book one for better frame of reference on the characters.
The suspense thread is standalone because it's a new case but I felt like the romance picked up from book one and may even carry into book 3. For that reason, I'd recommend you read the series in order.
All in all, I liked it. The suspense was great and kept me invested to see how it goes.

The Chase by Lisa Harris is the second book in the US Marshals series. It picks up three months later from where the first book, The Escape, ended. This time Madison James and Jonas Quinn are chasing bank robbers who also happen to be thrill-seekers. It’s a bad combination. There’s action and suspense in this installment and a great deal more character development. I wasn’t invested in the characters at the end of the first book, but they definitely grew on me as they worked together to solve the crime in The Chase. There’s just a hint of romance in this series, so if you’re not a big romance lover, but you love action, then this should suit you well. The main crime is resolved; however, there is the over-arching crime that still needs resolution. But, we are given just a glimpse as to why Madison’s husband was killed five years ago. The Chase has a nice faith element in it, and is a clean, entertaining read.
