This book had my heart pounding from the beginning and right up until the ending. I didn't want to put it down, and yet didn't want it to end.
These characters felt so real and I wish I could know them in real life.
Lisa Harris has a knack for drawing me in, and making me completely forget where I am while I'm reading one of her books.
I highly recommend this book to anyone.

This book was very interesting! I loved the Madison James character, she is such a bad ass! The story was very exciting and I could not put it down! I really enjoyed the authors writing style, it is easy to follow and very entertaining! I actually did not know this is a book 2 because everything was explained so well and do i really need to read book 1? Lol

After I finishing this novel I wanted to read more by this author! Soooo I’m going to read book 1! Lol I’m doing it backwards! That’s okay! I am so excited to keep reading and learning more about characters! So happy to have found this book!
When this book comes out im going to buy it for my book shelf!
I plan to reread it when the book comes out in hardback and make sure I didn’t miss anything! Do you read your books twice? I do!

Marshal Madison James has recovered from the gunshot wound but still cant remember who shot her. With her partner Jonas Quinn, they are on the trail of 4 bank robbery suspects all on her first day back. The car chases, shot outs and a rising body count make this a page turner. Will Madison ever remember who shot her?

This book was a fast pace thrill from start to finish! I am loving this series! This book just kept building in intensity as the chase progressed! This book kept me invested until the end! One of the things I loved is that main characters never seemed incompetent in their job even though the chase didn’t end until the conclusion. I also enjoyed the bit of info from the ongoing plot points from the last book as there is still a crime yet to be solved in the series. This has been a solid suspense series and this book did not disappoint!

The Chase was full of adventure and suspense all the way through. It never slowed down and kept me engaged throughout the whole story. It was a good balance of action and love. The only disappointing thing was the cliff hanger at the end. I wanted closure.

The second in a series, "The chase" is set a little after the previous book - "The escape". I enjoyed the first book and I definitely enjoyed the second book. I recommend reading them in order as it adds to the layers of the book and you understand the characters motivations better.

This book has action, mystery and several side stories which were integrated with the main story in a seamless manner. This second book built on those and added layers. It definitely leaves me impatient for the third story in the series. I thought that this was a great book and I would pay for it if I hadn't received it free in exchange for an honest review.

I had read the first book in the US Marshals Series and was excited when NetGalley offered book two for review. The Chase picks up about three months after The Escape ended. The main character, Madison James, has healed physically from the bullet wound she received from a person she can't remember at her front door. But mentally, Madison is desperately trying to recall the events leading up to her shooting, and constantly trying to remember the face that almost killed her. After almost losing her forever, Jonas Quinn, Madison partner, realizes her is falling in love with her. After their previous adventure, they are once again on assignment together to stop a string of bank robberies terrorizing the city. One clue leads to another, and one suspect leads to another. The chase is on!

I think you should read book 1 to really understand book 2. It's the same characters and knowing the history makes the reading more enjoyable. I loved reading this book! It has great characters, fantastic descriptions, and a fast-paced plot line. Each clue had me reading faster to discover the next clue. I think the author did a great job in carrying the story with each new development. I had to read it in one sitting!

THE CHASE.......Lisa Harris

Madison still hadn’t found the evidence she wanted of who killed her husband Luke and shot at her. Except a black rose place on his gravesite each year. Jonas missed his partner was she ready to be out in the field again.
Two millions in bank robberies across the state, Called of one in progress the guard was shot. Madison assessing the situation the men were doing it for the adrenaline high, to the next high from a robbery, not the money.
Jonas had given a retired cop who has solved some cold cases since he retired , the files on Luke, The ring as did the black rose were they the connection., who was really the target Luke or Madison.
A love Jonas has for her, can she move on to love again It made her vulnerable and exposed, having convinced herself she didn’t need it.
Great characters, the tender trust and admiration they have for one another Good flowing clean plot, with twists of the robberies and their jobs
The growth in their personal lives, and of what they were wanting in the future
Great series, both books were well done. Given ARC by Net Galley and Revell for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

US Marshall Madison James has just recovered from a gunshot wound she received when someone broke into her home and tried to kill her -- the same person who killed her husband a few years ago. She and her partner, Jonas Quinn enjoy working together but they are starting to feel more than that for each other. The case they are now investigating gets dangerous fast as they try to track down some bank robbers. There is a lot of fast action and suspense here. This continues the first book in the series and fleshes out the backstory. I have loved both books and can't wait to see the next book in the series.

I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Romantic suspense has long been a favorite genre of mine but lately they’ve all been missing the mark for me, until this series. The author’s last few stand-alones haven’t been my favorite and so when The Escape released I decided not to read it. But my friend did and swore it was really good and worth a read, it took a little while but with book two coming out I figured I’d try out the first one, and I loved it! It had everything I like in a romantic suspense book and when it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger I was so happy I had already requested The Chase!
I think this one was even better! I started it late on a Friday evening and only managed to put it down because I was exhausted! I picked it up the next morning and basically finished it in one sitting! The action was legitimately non-stop but not in a contrived way. I was completely sucked in and turning pages as fast as I could as everything played out! Their hunt for the bank robbers led them all over and had me anxiously following along.
Since the series is all about the same people we already had the groundwork laid for knowing the characters which allowed the reader to just fully slip into the story. And since a few months had passed since the last book there was a deeper connection between Madison and Jonas that isn’t easy to find in the genre. They were building a close friendship that was starting to shift to more so there wasn’t a lot of lovey-dovey romance which I actually didn’t mind because it was a genuine connection they were building.
I honestly have no complaints about this book! The gripping plot, great characters, and overarching mystery of Madison’s husband’s death all have me completely captivated and counting down the days till book three releases!

There was no chance to catch my breath while I was reading "The Chase" by Lisa Harris!

I fell in love with Harris' US Marshals series when I read "The Escape" and fell in love with Madison's and Jonas' story and seeing US Marshals since I've read so many suspense books with other agencies and not so many with about the Marshals.

One of the plot lines is quite like one of my favorite mystery movies which makes me adore this book even more. There were things that I wished didn't happen and I also was really sad at some of the twists but this book left me eager for the next one!

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I sat for 10 minutes prior to writing this review, attempting to find an appropriate simile for The Chase by Lisa Harris. Whirlwind. Roller coaster. Hurricane. Nothing seems to fit! The best on which I can settle? Maybe skydiving. Cliff diving. Bungee jumping. A heart-pounding, seemingly never-ending (in a good way) chase to the conclusion of the novel. The anticipation builds until readers crash into the novel’s finale. I took my Kindle outside with me on a cool day, lowered myself onto a lounger, and legitimately did not stand up until I’d almost finished The Chase. When I returned home from an obligation, I consumed the last 30 minutes’ worth of reading in a desperate sprint.

The Chase by Lisa Harris never stops. Not for a single page. Madison James and Jonas Quinn face roadblock after roadblock in their attempts to stop four bank robbers from escaping justice. It always seems they are one step behind the bad guys, but Madison and Jonas never lose hope.  They keep fighting, and Harris’s portrayal of their perseverance makes for a thrilling, entertaining novel from cover to cover.  It begins on the very first page. Readers learn it is Madison’s first day back with the US Marshals after being shot in her own home. That one fact alone instantly made me root for Madison’s success.

The novel is the second of Harris’s US Marshals series. I did not read the first one—The Escape—and I wish I had.  The Chase read as a middle book. It stands on its own with its plot, but I did not understand some underlying details. A few of these, I’d say, actually defined Madison and Jonas themselves. Questions swirl around the death of Madison’s husband five years ago.  The Chase advances that subplot—which I imagine exists throughout the entire series—yet opens the door to more queries on the reader’s part.  It is an absolutely brilliant way to suck people in.  As soon as I finished The Chase, I wanted to know the next novel’s publishing date, assuming there is a third.  I hope the series doesn't end with The Chase, because I still want to know so much more. This was the first Lisa Harris novel I’ve read, and I will without a doubt pursue more of her work.

I loved the humor Harris scattered throughout The Chase; she placed the comic relief in perfect locations. There was character development for both Madison and Jonas, but I didn’t feel there was enough. Harris dropped me in the middle of their relationship, and I didn’t have enough context to truly understand either character. Probably because this was book two of the series. I also struggled to believe the bank robbers' motivation for committing their crimes; it didn't seem strong enough. And one final, hopefully non-spoiling comment: What is it with men always getting to be the heroes? Can’t the dude be the “damsel in distress” for once, and the female character swoop in to save the day? It gets old.

Overall, though, I enjoyed The Chase immensely. I’m looking forward to further exploring Lisa Harris’s work. According to her Goodreads profile, Harris has almost forty novels and novellas in print. Wonder how many of those I can read in the next year…
