Unbreak your heart is a truly enlightening and emotional read that left me feeling wonderful after the final page had turned. Many thanks to NetGalley and Hodder for allowing me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Plot summary:
Jake has a failing heart- he has since he was born. His Dad, Simon, is the best person in his life and all Jake wants for him is to find a girlfriend and be happy since his mum left just after he was born.
Beth has left her life- and ex-husband- back in New York to start fresh when she first meets Jake and his very protective father. As Jake starts to try and find his dad a Girlfriend how will Beth fit into their lives when she starts to become close to Jake and his father?

Review:
Plot wise- It was a genuinely delightful, refreshing romance. It was full of small details, especially about Jake’s condition, that have been so keenly written it is genuinely heart-breaking to read sometimes. The story was heart-warming and the plot kept me engaged and invested. The ending was truly wonderful- it had me tearing up.
Pacing wise -the story was quite fast which I enjoyed. The only thing that maybe could detract is some of the plot points went by so fast I had to reread previous chapters to ensure I had not missed anything.

Character wise- Jake was truly the star of the show in this novel. He was developed really well and it was a joy to read his life and learn more about his condition and what an absolute trooper he is.
Beth and Simon were both developed well, however they felt a little bit 2 dimensional on occasion- and by that I mean some of the development felt a bit forced or late to make me feel I understood their motivations. It did not detract from the story but it left me questioning some of the plot points when the development just had not reached the level it needed.
A lot of the smaller side characters read as well imagined and only those required where utilised in the plot- which is a very nice change for me.

World building- this story was built upon the world it would be set and it worked out beautifully

Final Thoughts:
A heart-warming, delightful and beautifully imagined read for anyone who is after some escapist fiction on a summers day.
