A quirky, interesting read that is original and fun. Poppy is producing a dating programme – and whilst she is a matchmaker for others, she is in search for a bit of romance for herself.
Of course, behind the scenes drama, pranks, jokes galore all lead to a fun and enjoyable read.
I liked the characters, I could imagine being there so that makes it all the more entertaining to me.

Lovely story with a great location in Dorset on the Jurassic coast. Poppy was a great character and I loved the premise of her dating show, plenty of humour and things going on made it a fast paced fun read

This was such a lovely, escapist read and perfect for my night-time read.
While, in many ways, the plot was far removed from what most of us might experience in day to day life, this is precisely why this book appeals to me. I can truly escape and imagine what it would be like to be in charge of producing a TV show!

This was a sweet read with the friends-to-lovers trope. I liked the descriptive prose which made me imagine the locales, but I would have liked a bit more of emotions. Overall, a sweet, predictable read.

After reading Sunshine Over Bluebell Cliff and enjoying immensely , I couldn't wait to read this one. Happy to say, I loved this one as swell.

A beautiful book, great story line and very well written. A funny romantic lighthearted read, I just wanted more.,5 stars from me and I highly recommend this book.. Well done and I await your next book.

This was such a comfort read middle of thrillers; you can loose yourself in the book. ❤️ The setting is great, this makes your feet itch to go there ✈️. Books with these settings 🌳🌴🌼🌸🎋🌾 make me want to visit #countryside of #England.

The book was set in Dorset a place I have never been but I can visualise the beautiful coastline all in my head.

If you are looking a nice light happy read then this is the book for you.

Special Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have often mentioned that I am picky when it comes to narrative styles and characters in romance/chick-lit books. There are things in this book that worked for me and some that didn't (which might work for most other readers); I will elaborate further in my review.
This is a story of Poppy and her life, both familial and work-based. She has struck upon an idea for a dating show which she has poured her heart into and hopes for a Netflix success. The way the process is shown, the filming, the love for her town and her family, even her family complications are all well done. I liked them and the colour they provided to the storyline.
What bothered me is the love story plotline, I do not want to provide any spoilers, but some chapters very explicitly set up relationships between some characters, which later is not taken into account when unravelling Poppy's story. It happened too suddenly, and despite the background provided (or maybe because of it), I did not buy it. I would not even have mentioned it, but since this is shown as a growth arc for Poppy, I think I should have liked this part more than I did for me to say I really liked the book.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

Fun and fabulous
This book follows the story of production company owner Poppy and the filming of the pilot for her new reality TV show, Date for A Day
I liked Poppy as a character, she is in control but is not afraid to ask when she needs help. She knows her stuff and has a really good team around her who get her vision, the main person being Dave, her director of photography. I loved the supporting cast of characters, they have such fabulous personalities and they feel so real which pulled me into their world and made the story leap off the page. I think the only thing that would have made it better for me is seeing the story from the different characters point of view instead of just Poppy as at times she can be quite overwhelming but this totally fits her personality and doesn’t detract from the enjoyment of the book
The main draw for me with this book was it’s setting, when I was a child we would holiday a lot down in the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset and I have so many fond memories of the area that I couldn’t not read this book and it didn’t disappoint. There were so many locations that I recognised and I think this really helped me to set the scene in my head of what things looked like and that captured my attention
Date for a Day was a slightly strange concept to me, I think mostly because I don’t really watch reality TV, especially matchmaking ones, but it was fascinating to see behind the scenes of how things are filmed and the work that goes into it. There were some brilliant sections that definitely would have made it into the out takes reel and that made me chuckle
There is drama, brilliant characters and an amazing location which is why I would definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy a story that looks at things in a different way but is still totally addictive

This was a super cute escapist romance. Nice plugs for Dorset and the plot was refreshing. One bothersome bit was we never really found out why a character was acting...well...insane. Editing maybe?

Poppy’s family and their curry nights were very naturally written. Refreshing to see that in this genre and not mean families or warring siblings. So nice to read about a close blended family.
Overall a fun romantic read.

Della Galton’s uplifting and immensely enjoyable page-turners are an absolute joy to read and in Shooting Stars Over Bluebell Cliff, she has once again penned an escapist and entertaining tale you cannot help but fall in love with.

Poppy Allen hasn’t much luck in the romance department, which is ironic considering that she is the producer of a new dating-show called Date for a Day, where contestants need to perform a series of seaside challenges alongside the Jurassic Dorset coastline to win the hand of the starring lady. Having had her heart shattered into a million tiny pieces by her former fiancé Stephen who had eloped with her best friend on her hen night, Poppy will certainly not make the same mistake twice! She has absolutely no plans to fall in love ever again, but surrounded by romance at work, might she reconsider her resolution to stay stubbornly single? Will Poppy take a chance on love again? Or has Stephen’s betrayal condemned her to a lonely future?

Even if she wanted to, Poppy has got neither the time nor the inclination for a new relationship. Her job keeps her on her toes every single waking moment and with somebody keen to sabotage the shooting of the show, Poppy cannot afford distractions of any kind. However, Poppy quickly realises that against the backdrop of the Bluebell Cliff hotel, magical things can happen and that she might just end up finding everything she had always hoped for – but only if she is prepared to let go of the past and grasp this unexpected chance at a happy ending with both hands.

Has Poppy found her soulmate at the Bluebell Cliff Hotel? Or will her fears and insecurities end up costing her a love that will last a lifetime?

I’m a big fan of Della Galton’s and Shooting Stars Over Bluebell Cliff is a joyous, delightful and wonderfully romantic tale about second chances, letting go of the past and learning to trust that left me with a great big smile on my face. Infused with hope, humour and so much heart, Shooting Stars Over Bluebell Hill is an enchanting page-turner that I absolutely adored.

Witty, warm-hearted and absolutely wonderful, superb romantic escapism does not get any better than Della Galton and Shooting Stars Over Bluebell Cliff.

This was a such a cute read but, I enjoyed reading about Dorset as someone who hasn’t been before, I still felt as if I could have been walking in Dorset the author sets the scene so well. It's a light hearted and, funny read that really makes you smile. Perfect escapism we all need still

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

This was a feel good story, a perfect book to read when you want to kick back and relax.

The writing by Della Galton was very good. I liked the description of the setting especially because it is important I think for authors to paint a vivid picture of places and events so that the reader can have a clear picture.

Poppy was a very well written character, from very early on she struck me as a young woman who was driven, and had a love for family. I liked how the family connection was also woven into the story and that she was moving on after that major heartbreak. The concept of the reality show "Date for a Day' was quite an interesting element. The events that sought to hinder shooting as well as the unexpected twist of fate made for an overall enjoyable experience.

What I can say is that if you are looking for that book to just escape with, Shooting Stars over Bluebell Cliff is that story.

Very light and enjoyable!!!!

What a fabulous read. I loved the whole premise of someone producing a dating show - this aspect of the story was very well researched. The Dorset coastline and the characters made this a 5 star read for me xx

A sparkling icon of contemporary fiction, combining old characters and new, and the fantastic location of Studland in Dorset. I can think of nothing better in current times, than settling down for a remarkable read with some old ‘friends’, whilst anticipating what will become of new friends. Della Galton strikes gold again; a wonderful novel, not to be missed, and the next book cannot come soon enough for me!

What a wonderful opportunity to rediscover some character form previous books and to encounter some new equally fabulous people!

Poppy is an up and coming TV producer and she is developing and shooting a pilot for a fantastic new dating show, despite the fact that she herself is single, following a bad break up a week before her wedding, 5 years ago.

Poppy goes out and about checking out filming locations, with her trusty cameraman, Dave. The female on Poppy’s dating show is going to be her Half Sister, Alice. A group of men have to go perform various tasks and then Alice will ultimately pick one man for a date. Poppy has taken quite a fancy to Phil, one of the potential dates, while Dave seems to have taken a liking to Alice.

The story follows the shooting of the pilot TV show, based at and around the Bluebell Cliff Hotel at Studland, and this is where we come across some ‘old friends’ and some old rivalries – that between Mr B and Phil. Can Poppy get her show filmed, without their childish pranks disrupting things?

Will love be in the air for Poppy or for Alice? You will need to read for yourself to find out.

This is a heart-warming return to Studland Bay and the Bluebell Cliff Hotel. There are some familiar characters and also some lovely new ones. Poppy is on the lookout for love but of course, what she doesn't seem to realise is that it is under her nose all the time. Poppy was brought up in the area and her family is a close- knit unit who add some humour and warmth to the story and is a good counter-balance to the escapism of the TV show she is recording. She is thoroughly likeable character who is a loyal friend and a caring person. Gradually, you find out more about her past and come to understand her a little better.

The staff at the Bluebell Cliff Hotel are familiar friends if you have read the earlier books. They add humour and all have their own personalities, even Foxy, the three- legged dog. The setting is glorious as ever and just seems to welcome you and offer all sorts of possibilities. Of course, you could read this as a standalone but I must recommend the others in the series. They are full of heart. For great storytelling and some well- drawn characters who you will warm to, look no further!

In short: Can Bluebell Cliff Hotel make dreams come true again?

I chose to review this book because of Poppy’s swearing off men after being dumped for her best friend. For some reason, I like these tropes. Maybe it’s because I like watching a strong independent woman get a second chance when she least expects it. Maybe I’m just a romantic at heart. Whatever the reason this story didn’t let me down.

Poppy’s ambitious production of her new TV pilot called “Date for a Day” is really happening. Her stepsister, Alice, agrees to be the woman who chooses from seven handsome men to be her date. Despite the disruptions from a personal vendetta between a hot contestant and his nemesis and a sprained ankle, Poppy keeps the cameras rolling with the help of her long-time trusted friend Dave.

Poppy is a determined and hard-working producer who loves her family dearly. Her ex and best friend really did a number on her and it’s understandable that she refuses to trust a man with her heart again. But with the unending patience of the perfect man right under her nose, she is in good hands.

If you like character-driven stories filled with family drama, behind-the-scenes reality TV, and a few laughs on the beautiful Jurassic Coast in Dorset, give this book a try.

Thank you to Ms. Galton for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

When Poppy was left at the altar by her childhood sweetheart, she steels her heart against any romantic relationship and plunges into her work of film production. She’s busy shooting a pilot for a dating reality show, called Date For A Day, set in Bluebell Cliff, in the great setting of the Dorset coast. Assisting her is Dave, her camera director, who she has a friendship with.

As they begin shooting for the show which stars her sister, Poppy and Dave spend more and more time together and the sparks begin to fly. Will they find love and be together forever, or will Dave be drawn to her lovely sister?

I enjoyed reading about the making of a reality show, the actual shooting of it and the eventual outcome.

This is a very sweet romance but also has great elements of family, friendship, humour and fun.
