This was a really lovely modern romance. The characters are extremely likeable and a tonne of fun, not only that but they feel like real people and I love that it didn’t overplay the enemies to lovers trope too much as I'm honestly getting a little tired of seeing it done badly in TPR. The way the story progressed felt real, natural, and logical but also special and extremely heartwarming.. Loved it, this is such a strong debut! Thank you to Little Brown Books and Netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Cake + enemies to lovers trope = a funny, sweet debut novel. This was a very enjoyable read with alternating pov’s for the two leads Cherisse and Kieran. They both had really good, sizzley chemistry and were very likeable. The supporting characters were all very entertaining and the author did a good job of world building as well. Look forward to more in this series. (4 ⭐️)

Sweethand is a dual perspective story that follows both Cherisse and Keiran. Cherisse has her own baking business and Keiran is a music producer. They were childhood enemies, who are still holding on to a dislike for one and other. They are having to spend plenty of time together, due to them being the maid of honour and best man at Cherisse’s sister and Keiran’s friend’s wedding. Cherisse does not like men in the music industry due to her dreadful breakup with an ex who was also in the music industry. As Cherisse and Kieran spend more time together, maybe she realises that Keiran isn’t so bad after all.
This was a really fun enjoyable read. Cherisse and Kieran have lots of chemistry, and we are able to see the dynamic change and deepen between them. They had great banter and jokes together which I love in a romance. They are both really career driven and all the talk of the sweet baked good had me so hungry! I also really liked all the bits with their friendship groups. All the friends always stood by each other, and it was really fun seeing the whole lot of them together and play around with each other in the lead up to the wedding.
I think the end was a bit rushed and would have liked to see a bit more of them properly together, but apart from that it was a really solid romance.
Thank you to NetGalley and Little Brown Book Group for allowing me to read in exchange for a review.
