Both of You is a slow burn thriller that lets the characters and their motivations take front and centre stage. It often seems to be chasing itself around in circles, yet somehow feels ultimately satisfying and twisty. Leigh and Kai both go missing on the same day. Both are very different people; Leigh is devoted and caring step-mother to two children, happily married and if not exactly living the high life, then at least living comfortably. Kai is married to a high flyer, lives in absurd luxury and wants for nothing. Detective Clements is tasked with both cases, seemingly so different and yet her gut says that there is something to link the two. Her gut may well be right.

Told from multiple perspectives, we see Kai and Leigh's lives through their own lenses and the current investigation through Clements. The obvious suspects are the husbands, and Clements has to discover what if anything they are hiding. But their secrets may not be what cracks this case. The use of the dual perspective of the missing women is done well; you get a glimpse into their lives that wouldn't otherwise be seen and it fleshes out the two well. The novel is full of twists and turns and I'll admit, I did not see where it was going.

All in all, a clever and refreshing thriller. It's got a unique spin to it that makes it stand out from the crowd. The characters felt fully dimensional and believable and my suspicions moved from one to another without certainty. I absolutely did not see the ending coming.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my free review copy of this title.

This book was one hell of a ride. I've read many of Park's books but I really enjoyed this one, although I kind of guessed how it was going to end. The story revolves around a woman who goes missing - she is happily married to a lovely man named Mark and has two stepsons: Oli and Seb. But there's more to her than that. This book is full of twists and turns and it keep me hooked till the very end. If you're looking for something twisty and compulsively readable, pick this one up.

Loved this book! It had me gripped from the first page to the last. I couldn’t put it down, so found myself wandering around the house with it in hand so I could finish it as I enjoyed it so much.

I am usually a big fan of Adele Parks but I found this to be a disappointing read. It had an unlikely plot and a very abrupt ending. This one was not for me.

Some books are great and some just let you speechless when you turn that last page and find that unexpected twist .
This story is definitely part of the second type. So many questions and so many turns, this book kept me entertained and guessing throughout the whole time. I had no idea what and why and how. And especially why.
A masterpiece of suspenseful thriller.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy

Wow! What a book! I was not expecting that storyline at all it really took me off guard. As soon as I started this book I knew I was onto a gooden. I won’t tell you anything as I don’t want to give spoilers but I did not see that ending coming. Even 95% through I had no clue how it was going to get wrapped up. Thoroughly enjoyed this thriller Adele Parks never disappoints.

Leigh goes missing and their detective thinks it isn’t as clear cut as they’re making out. She’s a mother, would she really walk away from her family and could this be connected to other disappearances? I love Adele Parks work and this is another great one. The mystery will keep you guessing and it is sure a speedy page turner! Definitely recommend!

I have started and deleted the first few words so many times of this review… I’m honestly sitting here with my jaw on the ground! I loved the writing so much! It’s my favorite Adele Parks book to date and I’ve read a bunch! I loved the first person perspective and I loved the POV from multiple characters. I loved how everything was pieced together throughout the book. I’m still in utter disbelief at how it ended and ………

Both of You is the perfect novel for me to recommence book blogging with, after all as any regular/previous readers of my blog will know, Adele Parks is my absolute favourite author.

I actually read this novel last year in hard back, but unfortunately didn’t get round to publishing my review. So publication day for the paperback version seemed like the perfect day to post!

I know it probably seems like I say this after every one of Adele's new books, but I think this is my favourite to date - proof that she just keeps getting better and better I guess?!

Both of You is quite a hard novel to review without giving too much away, but I'll do my best ... I'm a little of practice now.

Leigh Fletcher, devoted wife to Mark and step mum to two boys, goes to work one day and never returns. Sure, she left on bad terms, but it's not like they haven't argued before. Who can say that they've never left the house in a huff?

Kai Jensen, devoted wife to Daan is reported missing by her seemingly distraught husband in the same week. She has simply vanished into thin air.

DC Clements now has responsibility for these two women, and she wants answers.

Do these two women know each other?

Did these women run away, or were they taken?

More importantly, where are they now?

Everyone knows that in missing person cases it is usually the partner involved, so DC Clements' suspicions naturally lie there. She isn't sure that the cases are connected, but they are very close in time, even if the women seemingly have nothing else in common.

People don't just disappear... do they?

Enjoyed this. Hard ro review without giving away a key twist. Let's just say it's worth the wait and makes a lot of things fall into place!

You always know what you'll get with Adele Parks ans this certainly didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend to thriller/drama fans

I liked the mid point twist, really didn't see that coming. Enjoyed the story and raced ro the end, unfortunately the red herrings didn't work on me and I figured out where it was going way before the end. Still an enjoyable read though.

Absolutely brilliant. Just when you think it’s going to peter out. Bam! It starts. Couldn’t put down. I’m going to go and buy every book I haven’t read by this writer. A strong 5/5.

I wanted to start a new year with a compelling read by an accomplished author, and Both Of You was exactly that!.

I'm not going to say much about the plot because this story is far too easy to spoil, so here are a few thoughts on the writing style.

Like all Adele Parks books this was incredibly well written and intricately thought out. Questions were answered before my brain even contemplated them and the characters and locations were vividly portrayed. I had a few suspicions about the conclusion but it still left me unable to put this dramatic thriller down.

The book is written from multiple points of view but flowed with ease. It is set in March 2020 so references to the global pandemic are included. This is not overdone and adds an eeriness to the storyline, with empty streets and buildings a sadly authentic fact.

A clever, gripping drama, highly recommended.

This was such a good read.
I was kept guessing the whole way through. I love those books where you decide what the deal is and then realise that it can't possibly be and then you end up having to question your entire life.

Leigh Fletcher is a happily married wife and stepmother to two boys. She goes to work on a Monday and doesn't return.
Kai Janssen is married to a rich Dutch businessman and disappears the same week as Leigh.
Both families that have been left behind are devastated.

Detective Clements is on the case. He knows that there are hundreds of reasons that people leave their lives. Some do it willingly and other are taken and desperate to make their way back home.

Leigh and Kai are both from very different worlds and it's unlikely that their disappearances are connected - but something is making Det. Clements think that this may not be true.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for an ARC in return for an unbiased review.

I loved this! Definitely complex to begin with, as I was somewhat confused by the two parallel threads about Leigh and Kai. But as the story continued and pennies began to drop, I really got into the story and couldn't put it down. As well as my mind-boggling at how someone can manage to live a double-life. Not sure I could pull it off but the story kept me gripped, despite the fact very few characters were particularly likeable. Another great read from Adele Parks.

Well this was bloody good - I feel like Adele Parks gets better with ever book she writes! I did see the twist and I did see what was coming yet it didn't make me enjoy the story any less. I was still hooked and didn't want to put it down! I'd definitely recommend this book!

A great drama read from Adele Parks as hoped and expected.

Leigh, mother and wife goes on work trip and doesn't return. Reported missing by her husband we learn about their histories before they married.

A short distance away Kai, wife to Daan the millionaire is also report missing the same week.

DCI Clements is landed with both cases and quickly realises Kai and Leigh are the same person.

But where is Kylie and who has her?
I thought so many times I knew who had her, then something else would happen and I'd change my mind. Good read that keeps you on your toes.

Thanks to netgalley for the ARC book.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Another good book from Adele,

Leigh goes missing on a Monday, her husband Mark and two boys don’t know what happened, only that she went to work and never came home.
Kai goes missing the same week, her husband Daan is distraught.
DCI Clements is assigned to both cases, people go missing all the time but are these two women’s disappearances connected. Can DCI Clements solve the case and find the two women alive.
The outcome is not what you expect.
