A good thriller that keeps you turning pages.

Very well plotted and written. I kept changing who I thought the person was.

A really interesting take on a thriller.

Another triumph for Adele Parks!

Two women completely unconnected go missing.

And... really that’s all I want to say.

Adele Parks writes with such a sharp clever voice that you don’t see the big twists coming, you don’t see the small twists coming, I am always thrilled by her and this is no different.

Absolutely superb and a must read, in fact a must read NOW.

Leigh is happily married to Mark and is stepmum to his two boys.

Kai is happily married to handsome, wealthy Dutch businessman, Daan.

Leigh doesn't return home from work and has not been in contact. On the same day, Kai leaves her luxury penthouse apartment and doesn't return.

DC Clements, initially investigating a missing person, is intrigued to find both women went missing at the same time. Is there a connection?

The plot may sound straightforward but Adele Parks has done it again. A storyline which twists and turns, and keeps you guessing. Voyeuristic and uncomfortable at times, this is a real page turner and I finished it in two sittings!

This is a really good, well written family drama / thriller / abduction tale.

Two women; Kai and Leigh go missing and the story is built around the circumstances of their disappearance and their home life.
I have read Adele Parks' books previously and enjoy this authors work. At times I struggled to maintain interest here as, unfortunately, there wasn't really anyone I cared enough about.
However, it's a competently written thriller and has sufficient thrills / twists / red herrings to maintain interest and I'd recommend as a Good Read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to preview.

Both Of You by Adele Parks Pub Date 27/5/21
Leigh Fletcher: happily married stepmum to two gorgeous boys goes missing on Monday. Her husband Mark says he knows nothing of her whereabouts. She simply went to work and just never came home. Their family is shattered.
Kai Janssen: married to wealthy Dutch businessman, Daan, vanishes the same week. Kai left their luxurious penthouse and glamorous world without a backward glance. She seemingly evaporated into thin air. Daan is distraught.
DC Clements knows that people disappear all the time – far too frequently. Most run away from things, some run towards, others are taken but find their way back. A sad few never return. These two women are from very different worlds, their disappearances are unlikely to be connected. And yet, at a gut level, the DC believes they might be.
How could these women walk away from their families, husbands and homes willingly? Clements is determined to unearth the truth, no matter how shocking and devastating it may be.
No spoilers

A well-written, engaging thriller with complex characters, each of whom are harbouring their own secrets.

Loved this book. Everybody in their life thinks about walking away from whatever is going on. Everybody thinks at some point that the world is better off without them. Nobody want to be taken. I have found a new favourite author.

Wow what a fantastic read. Dont want to give anything away and spoil it for readers but what I will say is this is a really brilliant story that keeps you gripped from the beginning, I wasn't expecting it to turn out like it did but it was very well done ,even though I guessed who might be involved. One of the best psychological thrillers I've read .A must read

I found this book to be a page turner and I wanted to keep reading once I had started. I really enjoyed the writers style. Whilst I kept guessing and changing my mind throughout, I did not see the ending coming. There were also surprises and plot twists during the story which kept me drawn into the book and finding it hard to put it down.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading Both of You. It's packed with suspense and I raced through the book. The plot is centred around two missing women, and many of the characters are potential suspects. There are some great twists throughout, although I did guess the first major twist as I read the chapter. I also guessed who the culprit was in the end. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a pacy, easy to read thriller - perfect escapism.

Over the years I’ve become a fan of Adele Parks work. This book is no different and quickly drew me in to the story. This one mainly focuses on two missing women.
I particularly enjoy her writing style and the ability to capture the characters on a page as well as if they were alive in your brain

This was an unusual read about two missing women, both seemingly happily married with nothing amiss in their lives. Leigh loves being a stepmum even if her elder stepson has been challenging lately and Kai seems to be living the dream with her wealthy husband. When the same police officer starts investigating the disappearances she soon realises there is an unexpected connected.

I enjoyed this, the link was a wow moment however I did work out the culprit halfway through which removed some of my enjoyment but there was plenty evidence offered that could have lead to other suspects very easily, it was actually the lack of finger pointing that made it obvious! That said it had a good narrative and enough twists to keep my interest, 7/10

I love Adele Parks books but thought this bit different. Concentrates on 2 missing women. Leigh and Kai and about their stories and their family life.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

This, I loved. So hard to put down. Loved the way it was written..

I felt the characters were described so well and you could picture them, the balance of how the past and present was perfect and you could see how the character ended up on that position.

A gripping read, don’t want to give any spoilers and you want to continue reading to find out what happens in the end.

Highly Recommend It

This got interesting very quickly to the point I couldn't put it down.
Really good to have a book based just before the country entered lockdown and altho I worked out what was happening quite early on, it is still definitely a great read!

You could be forgiven for thinking that Leigh Fletcher has it all: great husband and two gorgeous stepsons whom she adores. Then, one Monday, she went to work and never came home. Mark, Oli and Seb are shattered. Well, Mark and Seb are but Oli's sixteen and at the stage where he thinks boredom is his best look. He's been a bit off with Leigh for a while but she put it down to him growing up and starting to become independent. Seb's only twelve and Leigh's absence hits him hard. Then Daan Janssen, a wealthy Dutch businessman, reports his wife, Kai missing. She too has vanished without trace.

DC Clements is only too well aware that a lot of women disappear, but these two come from very different backgrounds and the cases are unlikely to be connected. On a whim, she goes to see Daan Janssen and the two women look startlingly similar. Perhaps there is a connection after all.

It's March 2020 and the UK is about to go into lockdown for the first time: there's a sense that nothing will ever be quite the same again. It certainly won't be for Mark Fletcher and Daan Janssen. They're very different characters. It was a second marriage for Mark: Frances, his first wife, died of cancer and he married Leigh within the year: not everyone thought this was a good thing but for the past decade she's been marvellous with the boys. Mark is a bit laid back. When a problem came up he was quite likely to say we shouldn't get into it and it often fell to Leigh to sort matters out. Daan Janssen was the opposite. He and Kai lived a life where supper parties were carefully planned but apparently oh-so-casual. The couple were booked up for social engagements weeks in advance: everyone wanted a slice of the high-flying businessman and his beautiful wife. But Daan and Mark have far more in common than either of them could have imagined. Sounds complicated? It's going to get a lot worse.

The story's told by the women concerned, including Fiona Phillipson, Leigh's best friend since they were at school together. Gradually, we start to build a picture of what's happened, although it will be a long time before we find out the why of it. You'll have your suspicions about who was behind the disappearances - it's a very short list of possibles - but Adele Parks still manages to produce a jaw-dropping finale which I simply didn't see coming despite all the clues being there. It's a book you read firstly to find out who did it and then you go back and read again to find out how the author constructed the plot without giving everything away.

I'd like to thank the publishers for making a copy available to the Bookbag.

A compelling read!
This story is full of twists and turns and kept me gripped to the end!
Two women go missing one is a step mum of two boys and the other is the wife of a rich Dutch businessman , the tale that ensues is fast paced , enthralling and chaotic.
The writing is the calibre that I have come to expect from Adele Parks , the characters are not affable in their nature and doubt is cast upon most of them. DC Clements’ narrative was an enlightening one and also the facts and figures of missing people and murdered women was a sobering point in the book .
Altogether a great read although dark at times. Highly recommended!

Thanks to NetGalley and HQ.

I have not read much of Adele parks but I am actually enjoying the ones I have.
This book had me gripped from the beginning. I really liked the twisty plot. I liked the characters too.

Utterly gripping, I raced through this one and was kept guessing right till the end. It is so well written and the way the sort it gently unravels, keeps the intrigue up throughout. The characters are very real, though not entirely likeable! Loved it and highly recommend.

I did skim through a great deal of this book. It didn't seem to hold my attention. In parts it was really captivating. I did work out who done it about half way through but did persevere and read to the end

Another great book from Adele Parkes. Leigh Fletcher and her friend Fiona have been friends for years and know everything about one another. They are at the park having a picnic when Leigh notices a little boy fall and hurt himself. She rushes to the aid of the dad, Mark and over time they become romantically involved and marry. She is stepmom to two boys and loves the family dynamic. One day she goes missing. She works away from home part of the week and does not return when expected. Mark reports her missing and DC Clements gets involved with looking for her. At the same time a wealthy businessman, Daan Janssen, reports his wife missing. DC Clements visits both men and asks for photographs of their wives. Daan Janssen’s wife, Kai, is the same person as Leigh, Mark’s wife. Neither of them know about the other and both are completely broken hearted when they find out that Leigh/Kai has married both. Both men come from different worlds, Mark plodding along with his wife and children living an easy life and Daan having wealth and able to spoil Kai completely. Has she run away from the drama of trying to live two lives or is there more to the story. The story begins to unfold in a way I was not expecting. It twists and turns and the ending was not what I expected – it did leave me thinking a sequel would work
