I have read and enjoyed Adele Parks before and this was no exception. Very clever twisty turning tale which kept me gripped to the end. Many thanks!

I love Adele Parks' wring style so i was looking forward to a weekend with this novel and she didn't disappoint.
Set at the very beginning of the pandemic i don't want to reveal too much of the plot as it's hard to without significant spoilers. You do have to suspend your disbelief at some of the coincidences and plot points but the plot itself is fast paced, engaging and entertaining.

What i appreciated about this was how i actively disliked all of the characters, it's rare to read a book like this, non of them had any real redeeming features, any redeeming feature was also a function of their own ego or self service.

Without wanting to give too much away i was slightly underwhelmed by the detailed motive of the perpetrator and felt the ending was a bit too 'neat' but overall a great read and well worth it. I also thought it would make a great TV series.

This is one of those books that took me a little while to get into but it really burst to life in the middle portion. The big twist in this grabbed me as interesting and took me along for the duration despite a lack of interest in the characters.

The engaging writing really kept this book going for me despite guessing exactly what was going on way too soon to be fun.

One of those books that you want to sit and read in one go ! I was hooked straight away and loved everything about this whodunnit. One criticism, it need to be longer, the whole time I was reading it I didn’t want the story to end and I do think the ending could have been a red herring and another culprit actually be the one to blame.

I am a huge fan of Adele Parks and have been eagerly anticipating this one. It definitely hasn’t disappointed and has been 100% worth the wait.

I adore the tension and suspense that are weaved through the pages of this one, it makes this completely impossible to put down and will keep you on the very edge of your seat.

I sat down with the intention of starting this one, but have been completely unable and unable to put this down. I have been sucked into this one and so wrapped up in the plot, it has been impossible to predict where this one was going.

I like that Parks has references to the pandemic- home schooling and work from home, without directly focusing on the pandemic for the plot. This has made the book feel very current and real. I adore this one and can confidently say that this has been my absolute favourite by this author.

There are a mix of characters present in this book. Some you are instantly suspicious of and others appear likeable. I have really questioned who is trustworthy and have had suspicions around a few characters whilst reading.

This is completely unique to anything I’ve read previously and definitely differs from this authors previous books. The cover is enticing and inviting, this is a definite five star read which I highly recommend checking out.

I have no doubt that this will be a bestseller.

This is one of those books where if I start to say anything about the plot and the characters, I could well be giving spoilers away. Enough to say that it is an intriguing read, packed with mystery, suspense and surprises.

With interesting characters, some shocking statistics and an increasing pace, this is a page turner that I read in a day, filled with suspense and mystery. There are plenty of hints and clues as you go along that help the reader believe they’ve guessed what’s happening but then you discover some of those were red herrings to distract you. Don’t expect the ending to tie up all the lose ends, you’ll have to use your own imagination to sort some of them out. If you enjoy thrillers with surprises, this is a gripping read you’ll probably enjoy!

This was truly an unusual, atmospheric story a story of two women who go missing at the same time. These two were married to two distinctly different men and both from two opposing life styles but in real life living so close to each other. I felt that it started really well and the momentum kept me reading, however I thought that the ending was too quick and almost appeared a rush to finish the story and so I personally would have liked to see a longer more intense ending.book. Having said that I throughly enjoyed reading and felt that the character descriptions were realistic and I could imagine them as real people.
Althought i decided who I thought was responsible for the dastardly deed very early on I kept doubting my self as all the way through the clues kept changing and pointing at others.
Loved this and Adele has surpassed herself with this novel.

It was interesting from the off, and while initially I was unsure about Kai's chapters, feeling they detracted from the rest of the story, the weaving together of the narratives was well written, and the book became ever more suspenseful as it went along, despite the culprit being predictable. I would have liked more exploration of Seb and Oli, feeling there was untold story there, and also felt, while the ending was gripping, it was also lacking - I want to know what happened next, although maybe its better to end on a high.

DC Clements takes on both cases, noting some similarities between the disappearances of both Leigh Fletcher and Kai Janssen. As she digs deeper; truths, deceit and lies come to light, leading to one hell of a revelation and a surprising twist of an ending!

This book had me questioning everyone at one point, EVERYONE was suspect! The more you read, the more that comes to light with each character, particularly the husbands, their wife and their polar opposite marital lives.

The authors writing style is fab. It has the reader eager to read on, creates tension, puzzles and is full of twists throughout, which continually throw you offtrack. The chapters are lengthy, which makes a change to the short chapters I’ve grown used to, but each chapter contains a vital part of the story needed to unravel what is happening. The story is told in a first person narrative, each chapter told from a different characters view point, flowing together to move through the story.

I love the plot to this book. It challenges the reader, making you question and doubt characters, confusing you and drawing you in. I felt like I had to keep reading so I could find out how and why things were happening as they were. I could feel the despair, fear and anger Mark and Daan were feeling.

I found the ending a little abrupt, like it stopped suddenly, I didn’t want it to end. I felt it could have gone a little further and maybe ending with Fiona entering Marks and the boys home, or DC Clements figuring out Fionas deceit, finding a body, just something rather than just stopping where it did. I just thought it could have used that little bit more, although I do feel it has left it open to the possibility of a sequel. (Wink wink, nudge nudge Adele 😉) I was gutted to finished the book, it was a really enjoyable read.

This fab domestic crime thriller is a MUST READ!

Great book that keeps you guessing right up until the end. Tells the story of a lady who is drawn into a world she had not planned and the impact that has on her family. Great read.

Very enjoyable read. Clever and unusual plot, which despite quite a few what the!? moments keeps you turning those pages.

This story is fast-paced, gripping, page turning and with an ending I'm pleased to say I didn't work out. It's the story of two women Leigh and Kai who go missing at around the same time, both living very different lives with their disappearances being unconnected. Kai is married to Daan, they are the perfect couple with expensive holidays and designer clothes, and there's no reason why she would just give up this luxury lifestyle. Leigh is married to Mark and they have a solid relationship. Mark's first wife died and when Leigh came along she just fitted in with Mark and his two children - who treat her like their own mum. He can't understand why she just wouldn't come home one day. DC Clements doesn't believe there isn't a connection between the two missing women and so the story takes off. There are quite a few characters in the book with their own chapters, which is something I don't usually like as I feel like I can't keep up but it works in this book as the pace and story flows allowing the reader to digest what is happening without overloading the brain.. The short chapters work in that they make you read more, especially on kindle where it tells you how much time the chapter will take to read, so I found myself saying, 'Just another 8 minutes then.' The ending just ends, which again is what I like in a book, I don't like when a story drags on at the end, just filling pages when you already know all you need to know. I like that swearing is used in the story, it makes it feel more real. The only thing I didn’t like was the crude sexual content. I’m not a prude but I just didn’t see the need for the descriptions and felt that the content was powerful enough without having to be explicit. Apart from that I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to reading more psychological thrillers from Adele!

I have read a lot of Adele Parks previous books and have always enjoyed them.
This book was not my favourite.

It started really strong, and I was super into the plot and the characters right from the get-go. However, the more the book went on, the less interested I became. I found the pacing to be very slow, and once the major plot point is revealed I lost all interest. Usually when something like this is revealed the pacing would increase and you would be encouraged to keep turning the pages - this book was the exact opposite.

I didn't find it as pacy or witty as Parks previous books.
If you are new to Adele Parks, I wouldn't start with this one!
Disappointing!

I have loved Adele Parks for a longer time now, too many years to even count. I love how her books of late have become grittier and darker than her former work, but I love both equally. How could I not when they are written so well?!

Both of You was no exception. As usual, Adele wrote in her brilliantly atmospheric way. Page turners are her thing and boy, was this one!

I can't say much more without giving things away, but it's a definite recommendation from me. Go buy!

What a different and interesting read. It was not what I expected and I was glad that I had avoided reviews so I was completely unaware of what was going to happen.

Leigh marries young widow Mark after meeting him in the park when one of his young sons has an accident. She loves him and them almost immediately and becomes his second wife. They enter what appears to be a regular marriage with Leigh seeing her friend Fiona and helping the boys with school, running the home and maintaining a high powered job that kept her away form home several days a week. One day Leigh disappears.

Across town in a very upmarket penthouse apartment Kai is married to suave sophisticated and very wealthy Dutchman Daan. They live a life of parties and restaurants enjoying life without children. Kai spends weekends with her mother who is in a care home. One day Kai disappears.

The story is interesting, well thought out and the characters are fascinating. The author has you thinking about what has happened and why and what will happen next?! I enjoyed the twist at the end although I did think at some point that this may have been the case, but swerved to and from different ideas I was bamboozled!!

Both of You begins with the disappearance of a woman named Leigh Fletcher. When the narrative flashes back to Leigh’s life before she vanished, we see that she’s a stepmother to two boys. She juggles her busy work schedule with the stresses of family life and visiting her demanding mother. Her life isn't as perfect as it seems to an outsider. Leigh often feels insecure about matching up to her husband Mark’s late wife and feels as if she’s growing apart from her eldest stepson.

After Mark reports Leigh missing, another woman mysteriously vanishes. Kai Janssen is married to a wealthy Dutch businessman, Daan. Her life is glamorous, one of luxury apartments, expensive restaurants and theatre trips. She worries about her unwell mother, who lives in a nursing home.

DC Clements knows that people disappear all the time for all sorts of reasons. On the surface, the two women’s lifestyles seem too different for the disappearances to be connected. But the DC believes that they are – she just needs to work out how.

Nothing is what it seems in this twisty novel. It’s hard to say much without giving away spoilers but Adele Parks does a great job at building suspense and raising questions for the reader. The story is narrated by multiple characters, including the two missing women, and explores themes of marriage, family, deceit, female friendships and conflicting female desire. Both women’s relationships and lives are conveyed with great insight and every character feels rounded. It made me think about society's expectations of women, particularly in the role of a mother and a wife. Both women in this story have different pressures put upon them by others, all of which are explored throughout the novel.

The twists and reveals in this book are brilliant. Just as you think you’ve figured out what is happening, a new piece of information changes everything. Although one of the twists in particular felt a little far-fetched, it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the book. Like many modern thrillers, it's important to suspend your disbelief to fully engage with the story. I did like the inclusion of the Covid 19 pandemic, which I haven't seen featured in many recent novels. Although it wasn't a key part of the plot, the author used it well to explain aspects of the narrative and add realism.

If you like dark, female-centred thrillers, you will really enjoy this book.

This started off well for me and I enjoyed it until we met Kylie, then it all just got too far fetched and just really not enjoyable any more. I found myself disliking the characters more and more as the story went on, Leigh just got ridiculous and I never really took to her friend from the start, both men wer not particularly likeable either and towards the end I didn’t really care who the culprit was and found myself skipping page’s to finish it, sorry to say this wasn’t for me although I have enjoyed Adele’s books in the past and I will in the future again I don’t doubt

I think she could wrote a sci-fi story and I would read it . Luckily she’s still writing unputdownable gripping thrillers.This is another fantastic book, it’s quite dark in places.Unpredictable and twisty. I was drawn into this book within the first few pages. A woman wakes up in a darkened room chained to a radiator . Then the story goes into her life,her past life and then her childhood. I found this part a bit slow and nothing like the beginning. The rest of the book was good as the police investigate the disappearance of two women from completely different backgrounds. Both are married. One has two stepchildren and leads an ordinary life . The other woman is married to an extremely rich Dutchman and lives in a penthouse.
It's difficult to say any more about this book without giving spoilers away. The book touches on the start of the pandemic and I'm glad it didn't dwell on it .
Lots of twists and turns and suspicions on every page with an ending that leaves you stunned.
I thought I had guessed who the person the police were trying to find was but I was wrong.
The police in this book were a bit hopeless too. This would make a good TV drama.

Adele parks writes very good thriller. She creates an atmospheric novel while still making the reader feel like the character in the book could be the family next door.
