Thank you so much for this advanced copy of a beautiful stunning amazing story. I loved this, it is thought provoking and amazing, so much so I will be buying to keep. The drawings are fantastic too. A definite memory of the times we have endured.

A truly stunning depiction of the importance of togetherness during a period of isolation and hardship.

This book will touch the hearts of each and every person that reads it. The gorgeous illustrations and impactful words that accompany them, pour buckets of beauty and emotion onto every page. Such a positive and heart-warming documentation of the storm we have all weathered during the coronavirus pandemic. An extremely enjoyable and uplifting read - I only wish it was longer!

This is a wonderful account depicting how all our lives have been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic through the journey of an elderly man and his dog. It uses scenes such as a once busy commuter train against the now empty train station, and lines of shoppers in queues standing meters apart. There are few words in each scene, but the striking illustrations show such a detailed story – a shopping trolley pilled high, a restaurant closed with chairs stacked on tables and a hairdresser with their shutters down. The message from this book is clear – how the devastation caused by recent times can be used in a positive way to make us more aware of our surroundings, the feelings of others, be more appreciative of what we have and how we must strive be the best that we can be.

Many thanks to Octopus Publishing and NetGalley UK for the review copy of this book.

A truly stunning achievement, I have tears in my eyes as I write this review. Being a bookseller and therapist during this pandemic has been a beautiful, painful, struggle, and this book highlights the emotions I experienced wonderfully. "As we took a step back, nature took a step forward" will be a line to stay with me for a long time.

Thanks so much for sharing this precious book with us here on netgalley xx

Beautiful illustrations and lots of poignant observations ‘strange things felt normal, normal things felt strange’. Best summary of the past 12 months.

The detail in the illustrations is simply gorgeous. You think - well, it’s a short book. Please think again, there’s so much to absorb in every page!

Incredible talent behind the artwork, this book has the potential to become a classic, and help us understand and remember the pandemic, as well as the best (and not so good!) of human nature (i.e. that illustration with the shopping trolley...)

This was an absolutely stunning book with a powerful message. Together tells the story of a man and his dog watching the world changing during 2020 and the coronavirus pandemic.

The illustrations were simple but stunning; the words complementing them. I loved the comparison of a storm, as that’s what the pandemic felt like to me. The underlying message of how we’re together even when we’re apart is something I’ve tried to remember during these times, and it was beautiful to see that portrayed throughout the story. Thank you to the author, Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this wonderful book.

Hawker’s illustrations are unique and speak a thousand words. Utterly mesmerising and apt for the times we are in. Highly recommend.

The illustrations in this book are beautiful, and if for no other reason than to enjoy beautiful drawings you pick this up then that would be sound reason enough. Sadly, you can read this book in around 5 minutes; it is predominantly drawings, albeit wonderful ones.

I think this book will easily be compared to The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse in its style. But the impact it has is much lesser, and not nearly as uplifting. It essentially chronicles some of the challenges we faced with the pandemic, the loneliness and grief, but also champions how our shared troubles and the quiet that we were gifted with as the world slowed down for a time may have given us new-found togetherness.

This is a nice book, there is no question of that, but it really is very short and sparse. I think it would work wonderfully as a children's picture book, explaining what the pandemic looked like. But for adults, it isn't quite lyrical enough or powerful enough to work.

This book is an absolute delight. It could be a quick read, but the illustrations are so captivating I spent a long time enjoying each one. The poetry/prose is simple, but so affecting. As a reminder of this paralysing (for so many) pandemic and what has changed, it also gives hope for the future and a better appreciation of what was taken for granted. Thank you to Luke Adam Hawker, Net Galley and Octopus Publishing for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The last year has been tough for everyone in different ways, this beautifully illustrated book describes the storm poetically.
The detail that has gone into the sketchy illustrations are beautiful even more impactful I think with them being black and white.
‘Together’ would make a lovely gift for someone as it is a book that could help someone through their own storm.
I look forward to adding the physical copy to my collection on its release date.
Thank you Netgalley and octopus publishing for this arc in return for my honest review.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher Kyle Books, and Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This is a gorgeous book, with beautiful illustrations. It’s a very short read but gives off a huge message of hope and love. The pictures are really lovely and I sat and looked at each one for a while. They draw you in and you can feel the emotion on the page without needing to read the words.

Really lovely book and makes you feel very warm in times like today.

Thank you to Kyle Books for the advanced ebook, and of course to the author and illustrator Luke Adam Hawker.

This was beautiful - both the words and the artwork. It made me feel part of a community and gave me hope that we will endure. The detail in the illustrations blew me away. I especially loved the ones of high-rise flats. And the page about the health service had me close to tears. Just beautiful.

Rendered in heart-wrenching simplicity, Together chronicles the feelings of life in Lockdown, representing Covid-19 with a storm. I was unsure of whether reading this book while still in Lockdown would be too much, but I found it lifted my spirits, as it draws on the commonality of isolation.

Hawker's illustrations are beautiful, capturing so much in sketchy lines. The amount of detail in the images is impressive - there's plenty to pore over. These are well-matched by the captions, which are poetic in their simplicity.

Together would be a great gift to send to a loved one while we're all separated.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is an amazing little book that is so well illustrated. It tells the story of the pandemic in words and pictures but is so much more. It reminded me a lot of The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse a quick read but something that can be taken away quoted and reread.
A must have on your book shelf.

Luke Adam Hawker’s ‘Together’, for me, would be a beautiful gift for a friend or loved one. It is a beautifully illustrated and very poetic read about the effect of the pandemic. It doesn’t mention covid at all but instead refers to it is as a storm. It is very comparable to the boy, the fox and the mole. This is a perfect book for your coffee table, to look at when you’re in a storm.
