Well I am a convert. This is the first audio I have listened to. Great book, full of suspense, I listened to this in 2 sittings. Car accidents leads to meeting a murderer. Apart from clashing with a murderer Leah finds out things about her husband that she never knew. Quite gory in places which adds to the suspense. So glad to have listened to this book. Loved it. Thank you for the opportunity.

Leah is so grateful to Martin Tate, the man who opens his door to her the night she crashes her car. In shock and traumatized, she finds herself to this man showing her such kindness. She decides to return the next day to thank Martin properly, but Martin is not there. The police are there because the female homeowner has been found upstairs in a pool of blood. Understandably confused and shaken to the core, Leah wonders if she stumbled into the arms of a killer. She won’t have to wonder for long though, as Martin is just as keen to find her as she is to understand what happened. I read this book first and then listened to the audio version; Robinson’s tight narrative made this seriously creepy book even creepier

What a story ! I really enjoyed this chilling book.
The story begins when Leah Talbot knocks over a deer in the road , and her car is too damaged to drive home. She finds a house nearby and knocks on the door asking for help. Big Mistake!

The writing is easy to listen to and the book is fast paced , and it leaves you guessing what the next step will be.
The narration of the book is excellent and the chapters just fly by. Rose Robinson’s narration as Tate was creepy , so matter of fact and yet so sinister.
Overall a great read , with a distinctive story !

Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK Audio for this copy.

Completely creepy. Sometimes the freakiest stories are those that make you feel they could happen in real life... if you were in a car accident without a phone and no one else around would you not knock on the door of the nearest house for help? After reading this book I might think twice about it!!!

I loved the way that the story was driven from the point of view of Leah but whenever she became aware of developments the next chapter would back pedal and show what happened from Tate’s perspective. These chapters were really dark.

I’m not normally a big consumer of audiobooks but Rose Robinson is so good as the narrator I will be looking for some other books she has narrated. Her voice as Tate is amazing.

You know what makes this story REALLY creepy.. Somewhere in this twisted world there has probably been a man at some point of time that has actually done this to some poor individuals! And that's what makes this book truly terrifying.

Narrator 5 stars!!
Rose Robinson was fantastic as the female character but let's take a moment to talk about her as Tate. When we are first introduced to Tate, Rose made him sound like Hugh Grant's Notting Hill character and then BOOM he sounds like the psychopath Hugh Grant character from The Undoing!
Bloody brilliant Rose! I want to hear more books narrated by you!
