Where was this book when my older kids were born?!
I have a few of the other books from this series in my collection, as an infant-feeding-obsessed researcher and mum of four. My first child had 'colic', my second had reflux and the first six months of his life went by in a flurry of Gaviscon powder, and then my third child was diagnosed with reflux. I knew in my gut that it wasn't reflux because I had experienced a reflux baby and this wasn't it. With hindsight, I know that my third child was tongue-tied. He miraculously got better when he cut his bottom front teeth (and thus the tie). We tried the powder for all of 3 days, but all it 'cured' was his ability to poop! So we had constipation to deal with as well as an inefficient milk transfer.
Anyway, enough about me! But I felt this book in my very soul.
I love this series. I love this book. Buy them for the new parents and the parents to be in your life.

I found this book very insightful on the issues of infant reflux. As a mother of two small children, one who had symptoms similar to reflux, this would have been helpful to me. I appreciate that there was discussion of the science behind reflux and similar issues and how it can be misdiagnosed. There was helpful information that I recall being mentioned by my lactation consultant/nursing support group (i.e. we often think that there is more spit up than there actually is because it looks like more when spilled)-- this would be helpful to caregivers who do not have as much access to support.
