I didn’t find this as engaging as the first, but it was still a fun enough read. Worth a try if you like middle grade :)

This was an amazing follow up to the first book. Can't wait to see more from this author. Would highly recommend this series.

I was very excited to read this book to my eldest son who is 6, he loves an adventure story at bedtime, and is a big fan of the famous five and Roald Dahl.
The books is about a little boy called Jack who befriends his neighbours Bruno and Rocco, and they go to explore an empty old house. The house leads them on a magical adventure where they find themselves talking to animals and exploring a whole new world.
This is our first book that we have read by Jack Ryder and it definitely won’t be our last!
A lovely story full of adventure and surprises.

This is a lovely adventure story with friendship and family central to it. The adventure is a lot of fun with the children (Jack, Bruno, Rocco and Blossom) all having gained a magical power from Jack's grandad's old house. I know as a child reading this, they would particularly enjoy reading about being able to run really fast or fly high or talk to animals and wish they could do the same!

Perfect for younger readers who are gaining confidence.

A lovely children’s book which will benefit young readers who are looking for longer length books with chapters and are more challenging and entertaining.

I think children will be able to relate to the characters in the story, enjoy the humour as they interact and their adventure spills out in the pages.

I particularly enjoyed the friendship the group shares and the way they teased each other in cheeky ways, without being mean. It reminded me of when I was younger and how me and my friends would interact back then.

A fab book, with lots of humour and adventure that is sure to entertain its young readers!
