Delphie’s whole world changes when tragedy strike. She must rebuild her life and put things back together. This is an enjoyable and entertaining read full of warmth, humour with good characters.
Dilemmas, doubts for the future and self-discovery is woven throughout the plot, with the realisation that not everything is going to be perfect.
A great read for fans of Sheilas work and for those just discovering it.

Even though it’s taken me far too long to review this book it was definitely worth the wait. Delphine is ambitious about her career and her family don’t really understand her. Her boss Conrad really understands her and they have a great working relationship but when tragedy strikes Delphie has to look at herself and think about what she really wants . With her friends Erin and Sheedy as her support can Delphie find a better work life balance

Delphine has it all or so she thinks. A big change at work brings big changes for the perfect live she thought she had and wanted.
Kept me turning the pages all the way through. Light hearted with a lovely family theme throughout.
Definitely recommend

This was an enjoyable read but a little slow in places for me. I've read many Sheila O'Flanagan books before but feel this one wasn't as good as some of the others though.

Still an enjoyable read though.

Thank you Netgalley.

Please note that this book is not for me - I have read the book, However I had to DNF and because i do not like to give negative reviews I will not review this book fully - there is no specific reason for not liking this book. I found it a struggle to read and did not enjoy trying to force myself to read this book.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for the opportunity to read this book

"At the first wedding, there's a shock
The second wedding is unexpected
By the third, Delphie thinks nothing could surprise her. But she's wrong . . "

A cracking read, perfect for a summer holiday on the beach or a fireside curl up with a cup of tea.

A really nice book which I really enjoyed.

Delphie works for a company and is the right hand woman to one of the owners who makes his life so much easy for work. She has relationships but they never last long. Her family want her to settle down and marry but her job is what makes her life. Things change and she has to decide what she wants to do.

This book sees the main character very strong and is happy with her life.

It was a book that wasn’t too taxing on the brain and kept me entertained.

This is my first Sheila O’Flanagan novel and the title conjures up an illusion of a far fluffier novel than Three Weddings and a Proposal actually is. The weddings alluded to in the title are actually incidental to the plot and the protagonist, Delphine (Delphie) Mertens, is approaching her thirty-eighth birthday and a committed career woman. Having graduated with a law degree she works as an executive assistant to Conrad Morgan, the obscenely wealthy CEO of investment vehicle Cosecha. Despite having bought her own cottage by the sea, good friendships and often accompanying Conrad around the world, her family seem to think they know what’s best for ambitious Delphie, and that means settling down, getting married and putting her career second. Running out of available men to act as her plus-one for her brother’s wedding, Delphie sets the cat amongst the pigeons when she surprises everyone by bringing an ex-boyfriend. It is at this wedding that she gets the news that turns her world upside down and threatens the career that she cherishes. As things start to crumble and Delphie’s position at work is undermined, a busy summer forces her to reassess her priorities and wonder if her family were right all along about pursuing her career at the expense of her love life.

The book primarily concerns the career of Delphine and how the news she receives destabilises her position within the company as gatekeeper and glorified secretary to the CEO. I found Delphie a bit of a contradiction as she is at pains to point out how indispensable she is to the company and how she has expanded her role to give input to investment decisions yet runs errands such as collecting keys and jewellery for the women in Conrad’s life. She is also far too good to be true about everything from corporate responsibility to charitable enterprises within the firm, even when her own career is in free fall. That her main opponent within the firm is a misogynist and archetypal bad guy who wants to do away with the companies ethical attitude is all too predictable.

I found the novel pretty tedious in truth, not helped by the fact that the two major plot points are readily identifiable by the end of the initial wedding. The prose is pedestrian and the novel lacks the warmth of Maeve Binchy, the wit of Marian Keyes or the sass of British author, Jane Fallon, all of whom could have made it into something memorable. As it stands I found the whole thing ponderous and Delphie’s high opinion of herself made it hard to connect with her. The book obviously has a feminist message and is about doing what is right for you, regardless of family pressures, however turning forty and being single and childless is no longer seen as something overly concerning and I didn’t find the badgering that came from Delphie’s family credible at all. Whilst I found the ending refreshing it does also feel rushed.

I found Three Weddings and a Proposal by Sheila O’Flanagan a little boring and left me feeling disappointed. I usually love all her books but I felt this story was a bit slow and I didn’t enjoy it. Hopefully her next book will grip me better.

Absolutely love Sheila O'Flanagan''s book and this one was no exception. A good story, engaging characters, and quite simply a good way to kill a few hours. I'd definitely recommend this.

A great summer read.

Delphie is a executive assistant to Conrad, she would do any thing for him. She has just finished the bidding in a very expensive bracelet for his girlfriend and flies it to his home in Spain. The one weekend she takes off, the unimaginable happens. Delphie’s family wants her to settle down as they don’t want her to be alone, will she find the love of her life?

The story has leading woman who are strong, happy individuals with high powered jobs. They are all described perfectly and the detailing in the book is fantastic. Another great book by Sheila O’Flanagan.

A wonderful story set in some amazing places, the descriptiveness and the in-depth way the characters were described, sucked me in.

The main character Delphie is extremely likeable, I found I was just waiting for her to get a break - I loved that her narrative wasn’t negative (and it so easily could of been)

I was really sad when I came to the end and it’s made me want to read all of Sheila O’flanagan’s back catalogue.

A really enthralling book that keeps you guessing as to where it wil take you next. I was fully engaged with Delphie, the main character and couldn't wait to find out where the author would lead her. So nice to have a strong female character who isn't totally predictable! A brilliant read

Thank you to #NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.
I have read everyone of Sheila O’Flanaghans books and was looking forward to this one.
It is a light read but not up to the usual standard I expect from this author. I was not totally engrossed as I have been with the other books.
