Jeffrey Archer is an expert storyteller and continues to be so with this book. Great plot, we’ll thought out and designed characters, I couldn’t read this fast enough. I look forward to the next in the series

I enjoyed this book, the third in the William Warwick series, and found it a very easy read. I'm not sure everything in the book was strictly accurate (a close relative who is in law enforcement tells me not!) but nevertheless it kept me glued to the pages and I look forward to the next one in the series.

Another brilliant twisty turny read from Archer - I'm really enjoying the William Warwick series and he's just so excellent at telling a rollicking fun story. Thoroughly entertaining and a quick read, you don't want to put it down.

After the collapse of the Rashidi drugs trial William Warwick is working undercover with his team to expose police corruption. Meanwhile his nemesis Miles Faulkner has apparently died in mysterious circumstances. However life is never quite so simple...
These William Warwick novels are a sheer delight and this is no exception, pacy and complex but still with a wit and joie de vivre. They skirt very close to pastiche but Archer is an old hand at knowing how to draw the reader in. OK this will never win literary prizes but the author has always aimed at entertaining the masses and the reader knows what they will get with this!

This has the usual twists, turns and thrills and Jeffrey Archer is a master storyteller. My preference is for more action other than courtroom but I recognise this is subjective - hence the 4 stars. The cliffhangers are excellent and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I don't know how the author does it, but I'm glad he does!

This is book #3 of the William Warwick series. I would recommend reading the series in order for better understanding of the stories. The story picks straight up from the last book and William finds himself in the middle of a court case when drug king, Ahmed Rashidi is on trial. William is also undercover to expose corruption within the Metropolitan Police and is finding that many of these officers are more than keen to ‘turn a blind eye’. I have to admit, I found the first book in the series a little slow, but as the series has moved on, the books have got better. I found this book to show Archer doing what he does best – gripping storylines, cliff-hangers at the end of every chapter and more twists and turns than you can shake a stick at.

William’s character is growing on me as the series moves on, and along with all the other characters, creates a great cast to complement the plot! The storyline switches between the different characters with everything falling into place towards the end, although we are treated to several OMG moments along the way! As usual, we end with another cliff-hangar, so I eagerly await the next instalment in the series to see how William’s story carries on!

This was a really enjoyable read, which had me hooked once I’d started it. The chapters are short and snappy and this author is certainly the master of storytelling! Full of surprises, shocks, twists and turns this book will keep you gripped until the very last page.

This is the 3rd book in the series, which will certainly benefit from being read in order. I said after the previous book that it could stand on it's own merit. The same is true once again. However there is a lot of cross-referencing to previous police, legal and criminal characters.

The depth of the characters contiues to develop well in this installment. Once again DS William Warwick leads his team through a challenging case with a tense court battle for both Warwick and his legal family and adversaries.

Once more, Jeffrey Archer has displayed his skill as a master storyteller. There are some clever twists and turns in the plot as the series turns from a drug baron, into possible corruption within his team. Leading to another tense story unfolding. However the arch-criminal from books one and two also features again throughout.

I don't want to spoil the narrative, suffice to say that there are enough red herrings to keep the book interesting until the ending. Both DS Warwick and his boss end this book facing a reality regarding a thought-to-be past adversary. Installment four is well set up.

I give my thanks to Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for a copy in exchange for this review.

A great cast of characters in this series, both good and bad. Another fine tale putting William and his team against some crafty villains and a clever barrister.

Another good tale from the Inspector Warwick series regarding corrupt policing together with the continuing story line from previous books. The characters are well written and lifelike. Recommended.

Newly promoted to Detective Inspector, William Warwick has a new line of work. More dangerous than any before. He must now go undercover to expose the worst crime of all – corruption within the Metropolitan Police Force.

Top of the list is Detective Jerry Summers, a young officer whose lavish lifestyle far outweighs his income. But the investigation soon becomes compromised by one of the team.

Meanwhile, notorious drug baron Ahmed Rashidi goes on trial and Sir Julian and Grace Warwick must once again face Booth Watson in the courtroom.

But as William begins to piece the puzzle together, he realises more of his colleagues than he expected might be willing to turn a blind eye.

After being a little disappointed with the second instalment of this series I was pleasantly surprised with this one. The Warwick family were back on fine form, and I really enjoyed the return of their witty familial banter.

Once again, we were back amongst familiar faces, the Hawk, Jackie and Marlborough Man; but we were also introduced to some new members of the team like Rebecca and Nicky who played vital roles within this instalment.

This novel was expertly plotted, as is typical for the author, filled with suspense and clever twists that I wasn’t able to second guess at all. There was one shocking part, hitting like a sledgehammer in true Archer fashion, that even brought a tear to my eye.

I look forward to continuing the journey with William Warwick and this master storyteller.

A big thanks to Netgalley and the publishers Pan Macmillan for the opportunity to read this book. Am always excited to read the latest Jeffrey Archer book.

This is the third instalment of William Warwick. He first appeared as a fictional character written by the main character from from Archer's Clifton Chronicles before very cleverly becoming a series of books in their own right and suddenly a new series was born.

William Warwick has recently been promoted to Detective Inspector and now finds himself in charge of a team trying to catch corrupt coppers, in particularly Jerry Summers who seems to spend a lot more than he earns with quite a lavish lifestyle. However one of the undercover team gets a little too involved with Jerry.

We are also in the middle of Assem Rashidi's trial for drug dealing with William's Dad, Sir Julian and his sister Grace acting for the prosecution, against no other than Booth Watson, and Warwick is also testifying too. Miles Faulkner also returns to the storyline, along with Lamont.

I really love the way Archer brings in all the previous characters in to the storyline and keeps all the different threads open and rolling along with lots of twists and turns along the way. Another book which is impossible to put down and I cant wait for the next one. If you want to enjoy this book at its best, start at the beginning of the series, or for even more fun, start with the Clifton Chronicle and then read these!

I'm giving this a 4.5 rounded up to 5 as the Clifton Chronicle series were my favs, but this series is not far off and a thoroughly enjoyable read and keeps you guessing all the way through.

Thanks to NetGalley and The Publisher for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

There's no way you can't like this book. Great easy accessible writing but lots of attention to detail and complex characters. Page-turning, cliffhangers, tension, mystery, but also cozy - serious issues and topics are dealt with but a good use of humour to keep it light but not fluffy.

I really like the fact that the original ensemble cast of characters are still very much part of the story 3 books in and don't seem to be going anywhere. I'm really enjoying their stories along with the main protagonist. But also love the fact that new and more devious nemesis's are added into the fray.

Looking forward to the next installment.

This is the third installment in the William Warwick series of books. This book is more enjoyable if you have read the previous books, as there are previous characters and plot lines that feature in this book.
William Warwick has been newly promoted in this book. The story focuses on this and what happens next. There are lots of twists and turns, which is something that Jeffrey Archer is excellent at. I love his style of writing, it is very compelling. I actually like this book more than part 2. If you have read the other books in the series then you should definitely read this one.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

The third in the William Warwick series and the best so far. The characters are coming to life now rather than being seen as characters in a novel by a fictional character. (sounds complicated). William continues his upward trajectory through the police ranks, gaining promotion to Detective Inspector for his part in the Trojan Horse campaign in the previous book. In this novel, while the threads from the previous two are still running alongside, the main case is an investigation into a corrupt Detective Sergeant, one of William's contemporaries from Hendon. More undercover work by members of the team, and Marlborough Man is still reporting to the Hawk. The methods by which he reports in become more difficult to detect and quite amusing. The action moves from prison to Scotland Yard, to the High Court (where Sir Julian Warwick provides some lighter moments as he prosecutes the criminals his son has arrested, and Mr Booth Watson is his usual inscrutable self) and onto the streets of Romford. Every time they referred to bent coppers, I did of course picture the current day Line of Duty - some things never change. The book was of course left on a cliffhanger, with the next book in the series surely lined up to come along soon. More great storytelling from the master of the genre. #netgalley #jeffreyarcher #turnablindeye

It’s a follow on book from the previous one but although it’s good I wish the author would end the story and then start another one in the next book. This way I have to remember all the characters rather than just the main characters of the books. I may give up on this series if the next one doesn’t come out soon!

Remember those TV commercials for dairy cream cakes? "Naughty but nice", I think the slogan was. It came to mind that Jeffrey Archer's Turn a Blind Eye could be described as something akin to that. A cream cake isn't the ideal food but it's very delicious at the time. As a detective thriller it's certainly no cerebral masterpiece but it's a very entertaining read. With parts reminding me of Noel Coward in that great film, 'The Italian Job' and others of John Mortimer's Rumpole you're sure to be amused. Assuming we ever get back to a long haul flight somewhere or even a long train journey, Turn a Blind Eye would be a great companion. I shall give it a four star rating as being a bit of a guilty pleasure.
