This is such a lovely story, I was rooting for Hannah from the first page and it was a pleasure to be with her on her journey to finding happiness. This story is the perfect way to escape the challenges that we are currently facing

I absolutely loved this book and can heartily recommend it. Cousins Hannah & Beth both live completely opposite lives, Hannah lives in Manchester with her football mad son Ben, who is starting to mix with the wrong crowd & her almost always absent husband Phil. Beth runs a shop in a charming village in the Cotswolds. Over a drink or two at a funeral, they discuss how each of them want a change of scenery, and that's how Hannah finds herself relocating to the Cotswolds to take over the running of the shop, that's where the story really begins.

I loved this book, which had all my favourite elements (books, football, labradors!) and locations (the Cotswolds and Manchester).

As the title and cover suggest, this was a warm and feelgood read which left me with a smile. It kept me entertained and was gentle and ideal for a relaxing night in.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of The Village Green Bookshop in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this would be the follow on from The Telephone Box Library, but it wasn’t and you can read it on its own! I loved this one as much as the other one. The two main people are Hannah and Beth and both have different lives and that interact. I loved to hear of the characters and the actual place. A really good read.

Any title that has “book” in it has my vote! When written by Rachael Lucas that is an extra incentive. For me she is up there with the best in the Genre. Lovely book with characters that come alive, a superb location - who doesn’t love a Cotswold village - and an excellent story to boot. What more can you ask for. It will be a great holiday read and I shall recommend it, Thanks to Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a ARC in return for an unbiased opinion.

A super sequel to ‘The Telephone Box Library’ that shows hints of the previous story but also stands alone well.

‘The Village Green Bookshop’ is a perfect mixture of quaint, rural England and a more contemporary family storyline. Hannah’s move to a small village in the Cotswolds allows us to live vicariously through her as she settles into village life, with all its positives and negatives. The heartwarming family values and blooming romance make this book a really enjoyable read.

Thanks to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

The latest Rachael Lucas is always something to look forward to and this one did not disappoint. A follow on from the hugely successful The Telephone Box Library, this novel allows us to return to the village of Little Maudsley to reacquaint ourselves to characters old and new. Hannah has to decide whether or not to make a change before it is too late, for herself and for her 16 year old son. A lifetime of pleasing others over her own dreams and desires is taking it’s toll and Hannah needs to find the courage to break free to live life as she wants to live it.
Jake, a retired professional footballer, has moved to the village and just wants a little normality and quiet. But will he get it? An unexpected visitor places that at risk.
Beth has had enough of village life, where everyone seems to not only know your name but the names of all your family tree and their business.
This is ah hugely enjoyable read.

I had not read the author's previous book, however I only found out at the end that she had written an earlier book. I felt this book stood alone well as the details given about the characters were sufficient you didn't know that there had been an earlier book or feel that you were missing any details.

The story line in based in a Cotswold village - bonus for me as I enjoy both visiting and reading stories based there.

The book had a feel good factor to it, in parts the storyline did feel slightly predictable, however this can be a benefit when you need an easy read without having to focus too much to be absorbed into the story and negative. So by no means a negative.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thrilled to receive this book! Lovely to be back in the village of Little Maudley . A perfect village setting of picturesque houses, village gossip, and established characters!
Hannah living in Manchester with her boring Ineffectual husband Phil and teenage son Ben who is going off the rails, is given the opportunity from her cousin Beth to relocate to the country and take over running the village shop!A fantastic opportunity to do something for herself rather than just be a mum and housekeeper Hannah jumps at the chance and is surprised that Phil and Ben are keen to! Things however are not always what they seem and despite setbacks Hannah and Ben are welcomed and absorbed into the village. A beautiful warm hug of a book that will enthral you from the start, giving you a real feel good factor! Would highly recommend!
Thank you netgalley for this early read.

I’ve not read a book by Rachael Lucas before and didn’t realise that this was the second book in a series set around the village of Little Maudley and its residents, however that didn’t matter as the author gave plenty of background to each character as we went along. That said, I will definitely look out for the first book in the series ‘ The Telephone Box Library’ as I fell in love with the village, it’s little shop and it’s residents. In this book we follow Hannah as she moves to the village from Manchester with her son, Ben, to take over the community village shop from her cousin ( who has had enough of village life). The story is warm and comforting with a cast of characters including Jake, Helen, and Bunty, that I hope Rachael will write further books about. Perfect for fans of Jill Mansell, Debbie Johnson and Trisha Ashley, full of charm and sweet romance. I loved it.

Another feel good book by the author of The Telephone Box Library. Sammie has the opportunity to upsticks and move get life to the country by taking over the local shop from her cousin Beth. She moves ahead with her son leaving husband Phil behind to move at a later date...... She settles in well and embraces life. Will it all walk out for her and Phil or will the ex football Jake Lovatt tempt her into his goal! Love Rachaels books and writing style.

I loved this book. Cousins Hannah and Beth lead totally different lives. Hannah is married with a son living in Manchester whilst Beth runs the village shop in a beautiful little village. But they both feel unfulfilled. Beth and her daughter want to live in a big city so suggests to Hannah that she would love the quiet village life. Hannah after realising it’s a wonderful place to take her son away from the trouble he is getting in. However all is not as it seems and Hannah has a lot of life changing decisions to make.

Another fab book by Rachel Lucas. A lovely story. I liked the football element, Jake was a great character. Very kind with his fame. Funny how the locals did not like a gossip and they really began to appreciate Hannah. I liked Hannah's book club idea. . A good read
