This was an easy and fun story to read. As a teacher, I love when books have teachers for the main characters. I enjoyed it and would read from this author again.

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Fun, sweet, delightful. Nice banter and fun romance. Recommend for romance readers for a good quick read that’s happy and fun.

A good story of enemies who become more than friends. Chris and Gilly had a one night stand in the past, and now work together at a local elementary school. Never did quite get the need for giving in to Samantha, and hiding her family wealth, but that might just be me. Enjoyed this one, and the writing is fast paced. Would recommend this book and author.

So fun! I really enjoyed this Jacqueline Snowe book. I loved the push and pull between the characters and their chemistry was off the charts!

i like really wanted to like this book, but i just could not get behind it. it was way too taboo for me personally. but maybe your tastes are different than mine. and that's okay!

It was the title that triggered me to request the arc. Being a sucker for enemies-to-lovers this blurb seemed to be right up my alley. And the story was kind of cute. As a closet millionaire, Gilly hides her fortune from her co-workers at the elementary school where she is a kindergarten teacher. Because she learned the hard way that people treat you differently when they know you have millions on your bank account.

When she discovers that her new colleague is the hot one night stand who stood her up, she is confused by his harsh reaction to her. He finds her sparkly classroom too disturbing for children and he condones her buying stuff for the children in her class. Determined to show Christopher that she didn't 'buy' her Teacher of the year award with gifts for the children, she sets out to make the school year the best ever. Despite the contempt and hate Christopher sends her way and the blackmail Gilly receives.

Slowly Gilly learns the reason for Christopher's cold shoulder and Christopher discovers that Gilly really cares about her students. But when enemies turns to lovers, there are still secrets between them both.

Will those secrets tear them apart? The story is original and cute. Although not very believable. So that is why you can have trouble connecting to the characters. In all, three and a half stars from me and a special thank you to Net galley for providing the arc.

fab-u-lous. A gem of a book where I sobbed and smiled my way through it. Totally original, totally drew me in and gave a plethora of peripheral characters that you love and hate depending on who they are. Absolutely worth spending an evening tucked up reading your way through it in one go - I found I couldn't put the book down and was drawn all the way into the journey of our two lovers. The story has a few fantastical twists and is all the more loveable for it.

I loved loved this book so much. I don't know where to begin. The fact that the teaching aspect was so important for both main characters has been something amazing for me because I am one myself. Also I love a good enemies to lovers romance novel and this was amazing. I also think that the plot about the main's character exgirlfriend being a con artist added a different layer to the story. I really reccomend this book and if you love romance novels or if you want to try the genre.

Overall it's an easy read with parts that I liked but I couldn't for the life me like Christopher after all he did or say to Gilly. And Gilly was a nice character but her actions and being a pushover were clashing with who she's supposed to be.

Teaching With The Enemy is the first Jacqueline Snowe book I've read and whilst I wasn't blown away, I did enjoy parts of it enough to give her other books a read.

The story is about heiress Gilly and how the funds she's got at her disposal play a big part in her day-to-day life, including her job as a first grade teacher. She takes on a challenge to prove that her money doesn't define her and decides to spend a month without any access to her funds and to use just her teacher's salary.

Early on we are introduced to her buddy teacher Christopher, who she knows from before. Christopher came across as a really unpleasant character from the start and since the book is in first person from Gilly's point of view, the reader doesn't know until further along what the reasons are for his open hostility towards her, by which point you already don't like him. Unfortunately, for me, this feeling stayed and I never warmed up to him. Perhaps if we'd been in his head to understand his reasons earlier on, it might have made him more endearing although once they move past the animosity phase, they do share some lovely moments.

I also thought that the after roughy the half way point, the story could have wrapped up a bit sooner. I thought the character of Samantha was really well written because I really disliked her but I just wanted her part done with a lot earlier.

This was a well written book with a great overall premise but there were parts of it which didn't really appeal to me.

Gilly Carter has an issue with money, meaning she has lots of it. She doesn’t want to be defined by it, yet it seems to interfere with her life constantly. Christopher Callahan also has an issue with money, meaning he doesn’t have enough of it, and he despises those that let their access to it let it define them.

I always enjoy an enemy-to-lovers storyline, and I really wanted to like this book, but it didn’t work for me. I didn’t dislike it, but it just didn’t grab me the way I hoped it would. It wasn’t streamlined enough for me. There were too many situations going on without enough background information on them. Gilly encounters the new teacher in her school who just happens be her recent one-night stand, Christopher. Much to her surprise Christopher is out right rude to her. He most definitely isn’t a fan of hers and she can’t figure out why. We later learn why he treated her the way he did, but no real details on it. Gilly finds herself being blackmailed by a woman who she paid off to leave her brother because she learned the woman was after her brother’s money. Another case of no real details. Even when we learn what happened to Christopher to make him feel the way he does regarding the wealthy, it’s all very top-level information. It’s as if there should be a prequel to this particular story.

As for the characters, I wasn’t a fan of Gilly. I felt like she made things way harder than they needed to be. I wanted to like Christopher, but his personality just didn’t seem to match the man described in the story.

This is the second book in a series, maybe I will go back and read book one. Gilly’s friend Grace seems to have an interesting story. I doubt it will give me much insight on what Gilly’s issues considering Grace seemed to be oblivious as to what was going on with her.

Again another enemies to lovers. Literally all I read. But honestly I did not love how hostile Christopher was towards Gilly with absolutely no proof for his bullshit reason. He was so mean to her and then when he realized he was OBVIOUSLY wrong he didn’t deserve her, but whatever.

Then he’s all in the relationship until he thinks the worst of her AGAIN. Wtf Chris? He had serious trust issues. Gilly should not have given him a chance after that inmo. I know he had he own issues, but come on.

Other than that I loved to hear about classrooms and teaching adventures. I related to small things in the book that I feel only teachers can.

Aside, from the fact that Christopher was frustrating as hell, I enjoyed the book.

Loved the enemies to lovers theme with lots of misunderstandings thrown in. Great chemistry between the characters.

Throughout my time as a reader, I have always been a little bit sceptic about romance books. I do enjoy the light-hearted, positive element that it is able to bring up your spirits. However, sometimes I have felt like the cheerful plot is sometimes overtakes the writing and the complexity of the characters. For Teaching with the Enemy, it seems as though a basic plot, with a lot of foreshadowing is what takes centre stage.

For instance, I have found that with characters such as Gilly and Christopher are more stereotypical in this particular genre, that unfortunately I found it a little boring. But mainly, what annoyed me the most was how Gilly had little gumption to protect as well as stand up for herself. It seemed just a little frustrating after a while that it kind of felt like it was more padding rather than actual plot.

What was the whole thing about money as well? There was a never-ending problem with not having money and having too much. It became overwhelmingly a major part of the novel. So it could have had the potential to do a lot more, to spread an interesting and entertaining message. Because I don't think that it did much of either of these.

The writing style was not my most favourite either. There is more than one occasion where both Gilly and Christopher were together and the way that they were described almost made me want to vomit. They could have been painted differently at these moments, as I do feel like they could have been presented in a better light. Let's just say it was alright novel, but at the end of the day, it could have been way better.

I ha e to be honest and say I didn't finish this book, I only got 4 chapters in before I gave up as the male lead was making my blood boil so I gave it up. Christopher was so horrible and two faced but without any reason and I just felt like I wanted to reach into the pages and slap him myself. I liked the other characters but sadly Christopher prevented it being an enjoyable read so I didn't finish as I don't like reading something which makes me angry and prevents my relaxing in my down time

I loved the concept of this book. I enjoy reading about teachers and schools and this had that! However I found ,self loving parts of the book and finding other parts of the book falling more flat. Because of these ups and downs, I found that I wasn’t enjoying the story as much as I had hoped. I did enjoy the characters and the enemies to lovers connection between Gilly and Christopher.

Good book! This book was a light fun read! It was funny but also had some heartbreak and heartache! Its definitely a feel good read with some light suspense and drama! it also steamed up my Kindle at some moments lol thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favourite romance tropes, but unfortunately, Teaching with the Enemy missed the mark. Christopher is awful for the first quarter of the novel. He is a mean bully and it seemed quite extreme considering what he was mad at Gilly for. I hated how often Gilly wanted to cry because of something he said. Gilly is also a terrible doormat. I didn't understand her motivations and had a hard time connecting with her character.

Aside from the characters, I had issues with the editing. There were some continuity problems, like when Christopher asked to speak to Gilly after school, but we never hear what they talked about and it’s never brought up again. Or when Christopher asked Gilly if she wanted a car ride, then dinner is suddenly mentioned, but then Christopher asks Gilly if she wants to grab food. I think some things might’ve gotten missed in the editing process and it made the story clunky. There were also a few grammatical errors.

Overall, this was a pretty quick read, but there was nothing really unique or amazing to make this book stand out.
