I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for making this available..

I was hesitant on reading this after seeing the reviews. I did watch the movie first which kind of intrigued me, I wanted to read what the hype was about.

First of all, heavy SA warnings need to be put all over this book, I feel like if you're going to publish any kind of smut whether you based it of a fantasy or a story you heard in passing you need some sort of SA warnings.

I did enjoy the movie, I was hooked from there! A few pages into the book you could see how much of a piece of sh*t Massimo was and how toxic and dangerous he is. As much as people don't want to admit, relationships like this do happen in real life, the only difference is that they're not rich people.

But I did enjoy seeing Laura playing him at his own game and treating him how he treated her.

After watching the netflix series of films, i thought i had to read the book versions and as always the book was better. it was spicier, the characters had more chemistry and everything was just on another level.

My only regret is that i read this in public and kept blushing hahaha

I did like the book enough that I kept reading it to the end, yes it is a very toxic relationship between to two characters and the premise is quite a shocking one, but I did find myself sucked into the story. It whiled away the time and I would read the next book if that is translated.

Having heard about the Netflix film I thought I would try the book, as the books is always better than the film IMO. Its a great escapism read, I found it different to FSOG due to the characters, many times I did want to shout if I read another "baby girl" however it made me chuckle after a while and like I said before this was a escapism kind of read for me. Take it as a light hearted off the cuff read and its enjoyable

Thankyou to NetGalley, Blanka Lipinska and Simon & Schuster UK for the advance review copy of 365 days,

I was drawn in to reading 365 days due to the fact it has been made into a Netflix film - the synopsis sounded quite dark and gripping and I was expecting an action packed thriller. I soon realised at the start of Chapter 1 that this was going to be more of a FSOG style thriller, so wasn't quite what I expected!

:Laura is on a dream holiday with her boyfriend in Sicily when she is kidnapped by Don Massimo, leader of a powerful Sicilian family. In an earlier attempt at Massimo's life, he had a vision of a woman - a woman who looked exactly like Laura, and he has been on a mission to find her in real life ever since.

He declares that he will keep her captive for 365 days in an attempt to make her fall in love with him - after which time if she doesn't develop feelings he will let her go. If she tries to escape before hand however, he will kill her entire family.

The book has been translated from Polish, and for me this was the first hurdle as the words don't flow as well as they may have done in their first language, At times it felt a bit stunted and staccato in nature.

Massimo thrives on control and is pretty sexually aggressive, but the book features lots of lust and sex scenes that you may enjoy if you are a fan of the erotica genre.

For me - his endearing reference of Baby Girl continually because almost as annoying as the biting of a lip in FSOG, and the ending was pretty abrupt - lending well to perhaps a sequel.

I watched the Netflix show after to see if I enjoyed this any better, and whilst I found myself laughing through most of it, I did find myself wanting to know what happens so a mixed bag!

If you're a fan of erotica or want some steamy domineering romance and don't care too much about some of the language and build up then this may be one for you. Unfortunately, its not something that I would read again.

2/5

I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine

I was drawn into this via the film although I haven't yet seen the film adaptation and thought I'd leave it until I'd read the book

I was lead to believe there was a '50 shades' vibe to it but actually the premise is very different.

Not to give too much away - it does end on a cliff-hanger so there is clearly more to come. I certainly hope so as I'd really like to know what happens next

I did enjoy this and binge read it. It flows wonderfully - however, I do think there are unanswered questions and some plotlines don't appear until pretty late on in the book. I won't give it away but I would expect there to be a follow on book and would love to have these aspects broadened and those questions answered

I did enjoy this and very much look forward to a sequel

Oh and now I will watch the film and see for myself

The one thing I’m grateful for with this book is that I didn’t buy it. A friend of mine did, let’s all have a moment of silence for her.

I have read some trash in my time, truly. Some questionable books. But this? Blimey. Just thinking about it makes my skin crawl. I’m not even going to really justify it with a review. I will just say in 2012 I read 50 shades to satisfy curiosity… and it was less painful than this. Just.

Books like this worry me as they’re sold as Romance. This book I just read is not romance. It’s terrifying. It’s imprisonment and it’s abuse. Just because the abuser is pretty or hot or loves you DEEP down.

What shocks me most is that someone read this and went…. Yeah, this would be a great film. Who? Were they drunk? Was it one of those chats you have at 3am over chips and tea and then wake up the next morning with your eyelashes glued together regretting your choices – a word from the wise. Let drunken mistakes go. As this? This was garbage.

365 days, the infamous film and this is where it all started! Have I watched the film? No, so going into this book I had no idea what to expect. The reviews on both were so mixed and all I knew was it was supposedly hotter than FSOG!!...

This is Laura's story, she has unknowingly become the obsession of Massimo, a dark, dangerous and deadly Italian. He's tall dark and handsome, an emotionally detached Dom, who takes what he wants, when he wants. But he's also different from other Dom's. He's upfront about wanting her, he's honest about the type of person he is and he talks openly about what he wants them to become. He loves her and he wants that in return. But can it happen when you kidnap and threaten to kill her entire family if she doesn't stay with you for 365 days.....

I enjoyed it, Laura annoyed me sometimes, I'll not deny it. But then again, she has reason to be nasty lol!

All in all, a good read and I look forward to reading the next one!

After watching the netflix adaptation, I knew I wanted to read this one! I couldn't help but picturing the cast from the film as I read, which made it easier to enjoy. Overall, I'd definitely give it another read.

A night out / life for Laura is turning out very different to how she thought it would. Being kidnapped to gradually falling for her captor.

Not your average romance, overall a good read, it seems to go straight into the chase, so to speak, rather than a prologue of when Dom Massimo had his vision. Ending seems to be left open for a follow on book. Now to watch the film to see how this compares.

Sexy and scary...this book isn’t one you’ll be discussing with your parents. If you enjoyed the movie you will love the novel that brought it to life. Seriously dirty, this book is definitely not for the faint hearted

Laura Biel and her boyfriend are on a dream vacation in beautiful Sicily. On the second day of their trip, her twenty-ninth birthday, she is kidnapped. Her kidnapper is none other than the head of a powerful Sicilian crime family, the incredibly handsome, young Don Massimo Torricelli, who is determined to possess her at all costs. Massimo has his reasons. During an earlier attempt on his life, a vision appeared before his eyes: a beautiful woman, identical to Laura. After surviving the attack, he vows that he will find the woman in his vision and make her his own. No matter what.

Think 50 shades of grey, Bared to you, now add 365 days to modern erotica. Do not read this book if you are wanting a romance, heartfelt book as this is not for you. Night in alone, a glass of wine? This is the book for you. I am open to most genres so not one to judge what you read. Just enjoy it and do not take it seriously.

I hate to give a bad review and try to give constructive criticism and look for some good points but struggle to do so with this book.
Basically a mafia Don, Massimo, sees Laura when she is in holiday in Sicily with her boyfriend. Massimo has been obsessed with an image of a woman’s face after being shot and in a coma some years previously, and now is convinced that Laura is said woman and they should be together. He then kidnaps her and tells her she must stay with him for a year and if she hasn’t fallen in love with him before or by then she may leave, so far so good, it then becomes farcical.
The writing is so poor, it has obviously been translated so does not flow well, the characters have no redeeming qualities at all, no depth, just sordid , there is lots of sex and Massimo’s abusive use of woman particularly prostitutes and his unflinching violence to anyone upsetting him is cruel beyond belief.
It is obvious he is obscenely rich but the continual mention of Rolex, Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton etc is not necessary to prove it.
One reviewer has said this book is probably written better than 50 shades, sorry but is we’re comparing writing and storylines 50 shades could win the Booker prize in comparison.
It ends on a cliff hanger, there’s more to come apparently??
My thanks to net galley and publishers for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

Like a lot of people I watched and loved 365 Days on Netflix. After googling for information about the book and learning that it only existed in Polish but an English translation was being worked on the waiting began.

I am so glad to have finally had the opportunity to have read this book. It is far from the most flawless adaptation but I was invested and entertained which is what I’m looking for from my books.

This book like the film ended abruptly and on, love them or hate them, a cliffhanger but that just means I have to read the next one which hopefully won’t be too long away.

Not my usual read but I have a feeling this is far better written 50 Shades! Different, probably not something I'd read again but good escapism.
