Having established the premise and characters in the first book this instalment can dive right back in. Akira’s bucket list of goals before he becomes a zombie varies from what should be easy to unrealistic dreams. Yet the very first outing leads to him crossing 3 items of that list.

Zom 100 manages to strike a balance between being fun, fast paced (downright ridiculous at times) and still retaining the horror of a zombie apocalypse. There is gore and sex and Akira, who’s ride or die attitude is what makes this story work.

The same sense of adventure, humor and the undead as book 1. This series is proving to be surprisingly charming. I'm going to keep rooting for Akira and Kencho.

For Libraries: I must reiterate again that this is definitely an adult title.

Zom 100 stays strong with its second volume. I burned out on zombie books before because they were all focused on bleak survivor/prepper topics. Zom 100 focuses on what you want to live for. In this volume, there are flight attendants and an aquarium, not necessarily zombie apocalypse essentials, but it's entertaining. I bet it gave the artist excuses to flex their skills as well. I'm looking forward to volume 3. (I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.)

Seconds away... Round Two! The second volume in the Zom 100 series sees our unlikely hero, Akira, continuing his crazy new life in a post-zombie-apocalypse Tokyo. Freed from the shackles of his salaryman lifestyle, he's on his mission to cross more items off his bucket list, regardless of the fact that the streets of Tokyo have been taken over by a shuffling army of the savage undead.
In Volume 2, he manages to cross off a few more items off his list - including wining & dining a flight attendant. He also adds, and subsequently crosses off, a few more, including unlocking his inner superhero. It's fast paced, ridiculous fun from start to finish, including a chase sequence with a Great White shark that is truly out there, even for this series!
There are a few head-scratching plot progressions, including a moment where an entire horde of zombies conveniently disappeared, enabling our heroes to escape from certain doom. But it's a minor gripe. A hugely fun ride.

This is an entertaining story. I wish it spent more time on characters than the action, but if you 're looking for fast paced action, this is a great book.

This is just as great as volume one!

The situations get wackier, and so does the bucket list. Dating flight attendants, going to the aquarium, becoming a superhero — all during a zombie apocalypse. Despite the dire circumstances, our lead still finds a way to make the most of his new lease of life. I love how even in the funny and wacky moments, there are still bouts of sadness and lost time: wondering if your parents are okay, if life will go back to normal, will they survive. It does hit hard, but it’s still fun to read.

I adore this series and I can’t wait to read more of it.

Wine & Dine Flight Attendants? A Shark Zombie? Only in Zom 100!

Akira is back at it again! Enjoying his freedom thanks to the zombie apocalypse in the most ridiculous, and incredible ways possible. In the first volume, I went in not knowing exactly what to expect; had to wrap my head around this version of a zombie apocalypse story. This time, I knew exactly what it was about, and was looking forward to the next bucket list adventures!

This story is full of hilarious moments in unimaginable scenes. I don't even care about how or why things happen, they just do and it's funny. This second volume has definitely pulled it off and gives me great hopes for this manga series as a whole.

Special thanks go to the NetGalley team and the publishers for providing this ARC. I appreciate the opportunity to read it in exchange for an honest review.

Akira and Kencho are living on the roof of Akira's apartment. Akira is still working through and coming up with items for his bucket list. For the next item on his list, he needs a big screen TV, so the two friends go in search of one. On the way, they are blocked by zombies and have to take cover in a shopping plaza where they find more survivors. They share a meal which crosses an item off of Akira's list. Akira discusses childhood dreams with one of the girls. Unfortunately, it turns out one of the survivors was bitten, and he turns into a zombie. Only Akira and Kencho escape (with the TV). Akira decides that his childhood dream was to become a superhero, so he and Kencho go to the aquarium to retrieve a sharkbite-proof suit. He saves a group of bus passengers including Miss Risk Assessment. They take cover in the aquarium where they are attacked by a zombie shark with legs. Akira saves the girl again and ultimately gets her contact information.
