I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Found it hard to get into this one as the heroine went out of her way to be unpleasant and bitchy. I get that she is facing something momentous, but she behaved like a spoiled child at times, and I couldn't see how/why the hero would even fall for her. As such, this one fell flat for me, unfortunately

Princess Georgiana running away from palace expectations to a life in the army is injured by an explosion. Now she has to readjust to life as an amputee and understandably, hides herself away from any help. Enter the good looking surgeon who is prepared to brave her caustic tongue to try and help her. A very enjoyable way to spend a dull afternoon!

Princess Georgianna is running from her family, running from the army and running from acknowledging the fact that she lost a leg in combat. She is pushing herself to recover but can never really do this without facing up to her demons. When Ed is called to the palace to treat her mother the queen he meets Georgianna and challenges her to come to his clinic so that he can help her recovery. But the more he helps treat her the more her heart thaws and she finds herself opening up to Ed and starting to dream of the future they could have. A lovely read full of hope and romance.

A different take on medical romance with amputee army medic and princess Georginana as she re-discovers her sense of purpose with doctor Ed Lawrence. The characters work well together and are likeable (although Georgiana does come across as offhand the first time we meet her, but in the context of the story it is understandable). I would have perhaps preferred a bit more focus on Georginana's rehabilitation in conjunction with the scenes where she bonds with a young amputee, and the announcement that she needed further surgery on the remaining section of her leg, however, the story is well plotted and flows nicely, and you are compelled to keep reading.
An enjoyable book which has so much more depth and plot than it's title suggests (not a criticism of the author, but it was the blurb that attracted me to the book and made me want to read it, not the title). Recommended.

I would like to thank Netgalley, Mills and Boon and Karin Baine for an e arc copy of this book.
This is an enjoyable read.
The main characters are Georgiana and Edward. Georgiana has been in the army but was injured during a tour of duty and had to have an amputation. She is struggling in with being back in the palace environment and also with life as it is for her now. Edward is a surgeon, who runs a clinic on the town that helps people with many differing injuries but the clinic does specialise in helping amputees.
Georgiana is persuaded to give the clinic a try but she has certain conditions. This is a story of hope for not just Georgiana and Edward but for all those that they can help not only through the clinic and it’s work but in the wider community.
I really liked the premise of the story but feel that maybe more could have been written about the rehabilitation process that Georgiana went through.
Would recommend this book.

I received this as an ARC from Netgalley and Mills and Boon in exchange for an honest review. This was rather good. I haven't read anything by this author before but I'd certainly lookout for more books by her.

I normally like a little more 'heat' in my romances but I still enjoyed this story because of the characters. I wondered why the author had made her heroine a Princess because quite frankly the whole Royal thing added nothing to the story. Georgiana's military experiences were far more interesting than the fact she was a Princess. She came across as a quite unpleasant character to start with but then as we learned about her background and her brother, she became more rounded and nuanced and I started to like her. Edward started off as a bit soft and easy to manipulate. I found him a little too Beta for me.

A nice story with a lovely happy ending.

The Surgeon and the Princess is written by Karin Baine and published by M&B Medical. Princess Georgina is a medic, member of the armed forces and a Princess. She is also a recent amputee who is having to learn how to walk and live life again after losing a leg whilst in action with the army. Edward Lawrence is a spinal and paediatric surgeon who owns a state of the art rehabilitation clinic. Georgina’s mother, the Queen, asks Edward to help her daughter as she feels she isn’t coping very well with life after her life changing injury.
Georgina is reticent and aloof at first as she appears to always want to control the situation, Edward, however, perceivers and she attends the clinic. Slowly she lets her guard down in relation to the chemistry between the pair and medically, actually listening and taking his advice. Will it all collapse when she realises she need more surgery.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. There are several storylines Georgina and Edwards relationship. Georgina meets Hannah the little girl who attends the clinic after also recently having her leg amputated. The interaction between the pair and Hannah’s parents is heartwarming as Georgina shows the little girl how prosthetics work, encouraging her to try her own. The third storyline is between Georgina and her parents and Edward and his. The familial relations are diametrically opposed. Georgina’s family are cold and obviously regal. Issues, including her brother’s sexuality and suicide are brushed under the carpet and ignored whilst Edward has a loving relationship with his and he does a lot for them.

This is a great read even if you don’t like M&B or M&B Medical novels and I hope Karin continues to publish books of this calibre.
