I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

This was a good, naughty little book with a great romance. Everything you want from a m&b dare title.

The Pleasure Contract.

Over the last year I’ve read quite a few of these stories from @millsandboon’s Dare series. They’re around 1.5-2 hours each in length so perfect for a weekend afternoon read. I received a copy of this one from the publisher via @netgalley.

The Pleasure Contract is all about two main characters Bristol and Lachlan. Bristol’s sister signs her up to “interview” for the position of Lachlan’s girlfriend, although there’s much more to that than there seems!

Bristol is a very pragmatic character, exercising caution and protecting her feelings throughout this fake relationship story.

There are lots of steamy scenes packed into this shorter read so it’s perfect if you’re looking for something to settle down with, with a fair dose of spice 🔥.

When I first downloaded this book, I was expecting exactly what the description would suggest - a sexy billionaire romance with a heroine entering a contract with a hero to fulfil all his sexual needs for a financial reward. I did get that, and so much more.
*Review contains some mild spoilers*
I really appreciated that our heroine, Bristol, finds the whole "contracted escort/girlfriend" thing rather ridiculous, which is exactly the appropriate and honest response that I would expect. I thoroughly understood her reasons for entering the contract (why wouldn't you want to get a ton of money for sleeping with a hot guy you fancy!). What I found the most interesting was how she dealt with his initial declaration of love, quite rightly pointing out that he didn't know the real her and therefore couldn't really be in love with her.
Lachlan, the hero, was much more stereotypical for this kind of romance, being wary of relationships and commitments and enjoying the emotional freedom that came from hiring a girlfriend. I did like that he pursued Bristol, mainly because she didn't fit the usual criteria that he looked for in his contracts. It was also very satisfying watching him fall for her, as he realised that he wouldn't be happy with their relationship under the initial rules.
Overall, The Pleasure Contract was a really quick, enjoyable and sexy romance read, that still managed to surprise me. It will definitely be going on my re-read pile and I'll be looking out for other books by the same author.

This is the first book in the Summer Seductions series and it gets the series off to a great start. I must admit I found the first chapter or so slow to get going, however once it got going it didn't stop. Bristol has no intention of going into any type of relationship contract with the hot billionaire Lachlan and when she attends her first interview for the position she doesn't take it seriously and walks away feeling the whole thing is more reality tv then what she would like, but with his interest gained Lachlan knows what he wants and sets out to get Bristol to be his newest conquest.

Extremely hot romance. I liked both characters but Lachlan was particularly hot. Some angst but mainly sizzling romance. Just great.

Whilst this romantic story definitely has hot romance and steamy love scenes, it also has emotional depth and complex characterisation. Bristol is the least likely person to enter into Lachlan's contract, but she does with life-changing results. Most of the conflicts in this romance are internal as the couple battle their true feelings. The settings are glamorous, but the real attraction of this is passion and romance.

The Pleasure Contract is an enjoyable, emotional and sensual romance.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Another great emotional, sexy story by this very clever author.

A contract to insulate against true feelings is the nice tidy way to keep it consensual and light, with no further expectations.

Ha, we all know the best laid plans and all that!!!

A billionaire playboy businessman, meets an academic Dr who is trying to find herself and decide her direction for the future. They enter into an agreement for a mutual pleasurable time with a set ending date, Nice and neat, no further commitment, insulated feelings, sorted.

The contract, the closeness, their deep emotional connection all blows up in their faces. As sex, isn't just sex, when the mind, heart and body craves the others, with feelings of deep love and affection.

True love is the last thing they were searching for, but that's what they have found.

With a happy ever after ending in this romance story of finding love, commitment, marriage and everlasting happiness.

Thank you Mills and Boon for gifting me a copy of this Book through NetGalley from the March Insiders Newsletter.

I absolutely LOVE the Dare Series! They are short reads but packed with all the sex and this one is no exception!

This book has steam right from the start, no wasting time on Lachlan Drummond’s watch - he knows what he wants and he takes it and doesn’t care where!

I think this book could easily have gone on longer, the sexual chemistry between Lachlan and Bristol was intense and I felt the contract had the potential to have played out longer!

I am looking forward to more from the Summer Seductions set, as this is just Book One!

I received an ARC from Netgalley and Mills and Boon in exchange for an honest review.

I have read dozens of this author's books and mostly loved them. CC is one of my favourite authors - a beautiful writer with a unique voice whose style ranges from the operatic to the fairy tale in terms of drama and angst.

This one disappointed me despite being well written and using an intriguing trope. I didn't feel the love or romance. I didn't understand what the heroine got out of the contract (other than obviously brilliant sex). I could slightly understand where the hero was coming from but Bristol,, the heroine’s motivation remained unreal.

It was still an entertaining read.

An enjoyable quick read, set in some interesting locations. My only criticism would be that I found it hard to understand the female main characters motivations - her decisions seemed implausible at times given her background and personality. For this reason I struggled to relate to her. Despite this, I found the writing flowed well and the story was immersive.

Loved it! A book you devour in one go and then feel a bit bereft when it is finished and there is no more to read. A passionate romance with two flawed and terribly loveable main characters who you are egging on all the way through. A quirky plotline with good peripheral characters, a meander over Europe and a good cry in a mother's arms as well. Really did love it!
