This is one of my favourite audiobooks that I have listened to this year and both the writing and the narration were excellent. That When They Find Her is a debut is just astounding. Highly recommend.

I finished this a few days ago and loved it! I listened via audiobook and loved the narration.

It was slower paced but utterly compelling and I was immediately drawn in from the first chapter.

I had lots of theories running through my head while reading too and didn’t figure out every twist. I will definitely be picking up whatever Lia writes next!

I would highly recommend picking up a copy if you’re looking for an compulsive and, at times, heartbreaking story to read this autumn.

Review coming to IG soon.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Penguin and the author Lia Middleton for an advanced copy of this audiobook.
I just want to start by saying, Charlotte Richie was the perfect narrator for this book and I will be looking for some more of her work as, for once, it was clear and a joy to hear. Unlike the shrieking I have experienced while listening to some other audiobooks.

I enjoyed this book but I cannot give it a full five stars, it was a little repetitive which, for me, is the reason for the one-star reduction.
I was very intrigued by the book and it was a storyline that I have certainly never seen before which is hard to accomplish with thriller novels.
Another thing I would've changed is the drag in the searching of the woods, it needed to be shorter which in my opinion would've increased the intensity in the middle of the book.
Overall, this novel had great character development and was thoroughly gripping from the beginning. I look forward to future novels from this author.

A really great read (or listen as in my case). I had the audiobook version. The narrator is great and the story packs a punch really quickly. A truly shocking event leads to a lie which spirals out of control. Its a clever read that has you secretly rooting for the person who created all this drama. A book that deals with mental health, parenting and lost loves. A really good twist to the tale. My dog had a lot of additional walk time as I listened!

3.5 stars
When They Find her is certainly a promising debut. The story covers some difficult issues but these are handled with sensitivity and respect. Although it is slow and repetitive in places, there are plenty of twists and red herrings to keep the interest. I listened to the audio version and the narration was good.

I found this book to be very emotional. I felt Naomi's fear and anxiety and at times found my heart racing in sympathy. It had some original ideas which kept me enthralled.

Naomi lost everything when her husband not only left her and took their daughter with him but also married her best friend. When she has their daughter - Freya - overnight an accident happens, instead of reporting the incident she panics and decides to lie instead.
When they find her is a psychological thriller with a tragic story of a mum who doesn’t want to lose everything she has left. Naomi clearly has some internal mental health issues and a dependency on her sleeping tablets which caused her husband to leave and once he has left she spiralled.
A truly heartbreaking story of love, deceit, betrayal with a very unexpected twist!

Thank you for my audio copy of this book to review.

Firstly, credit to Charlotte Richie for the way she read this story...I felt she narrated the different characters really well and she has a voice that’s really easy to listen to.

The description of this book really appealed to me. I really wanted to know why Naomi’s husband left and took their daughter with him, and what made Naomi lie after the ‘accident’ instead of just telling the truth.

However, I found this book very slow going and unfortunately I had to make a real effort to finish it. It just didn’t grip me as I was hoping.

I do feel like I’m in the minority based on other reviews though so maybe this book just wasn’t for me.

The fast pace of this book was exhausting! Loved the writing, but the constant face pace of the suspense was difficult to follow at times

I enjoyed this audiobook most of the time, the narrator was great and the ability to increase tension throughout the book was very well done. Natalie and Aiden had a lovely life together and they welcomed baby Freya, unfortunately Natalie developed severe post natal depression - so Aiden takes full custody of her. When Aiden marries Helen, Natalie's best friend things start to unravel - when Aiden lets Freya stay over night something awful happens. Some areas were a bit repetitive and some were a bit unbelievable- however I had to keep listening to find out what happens. An enjoyable listen

Wow I really didn’t expect to love this book so much! I was instantly hooked because the story got going straight away which I really appreciate in a thriller. It is so well written that I had so much anxiety reading it because I really felt for the main character, Naomi.

This debut novel has to be one of my all time favourite thrillers and I can’t wait to read more by Lia Middleton!

A gripping thriller that I absolutely loved listening to as an audiobook - the narrator really brought the characters to life.

I adored this audiobook. The trope of mother's doing anything for their children really gets turned on its head here and I loved each twist and turn. Gripping, well written flawed characters and excitement to the last page!

I have really enjoyed this audiobook and I found myself from the start feeling for Naomi and the situation she finds herself in, although I did not agree with how she chose to lie and to things a certain way. Naomi was a well shaped character, with an interesting history which the reader will slowly learn in full through the story.

I loved how the author used the theme of lies for this novel which made it for a quite original read. The story and the characters were very good. The audiobook was really well done and loved it.

Thank you netgalley for this audiobook copy in return for a an honest review.

What an incredible debut novel from Lia Middleton. This book had me gripped from the first chapter, so much so that I listened to it over 2 days! The book cleverly sets out the downward spiral Naomi faces from the consequences of telling one lie.The author delicately handles an emotive topic whilst managing to keep the pace and remain dramatic. It’s a story full of twists and turns and kept me guessing until the very end.
Would highly recommend. The narration was fabulous too which is so important to the enjoyment of the book.

Was looking forward to this audiobook but unfortunately the day I got the approval email was also the day it was archived so I didn’t get the opportunity to listen and review...

Wow what a stunning debut! Right from the tragic beginning I was hooked. Naomi is a brilliantly written character. At first I couldn't understand the reasons for what she did, but as the story unfolded things from her past were gradually revealed which gave me greater understanding of her and I was rooting for her even though she made some very questionable decisions. The book is so clever and well written, full of secrets and lies with twist after twist which took my breath away.

Brilliant narration by Charlotte Ritchie made the book come alive. Highly recommended.

I experienced this compelling novel as an audiobook. The very unusual plot had me thinking "Nooooo, don't do that!" and "Stop, what ARE you doing?!" and so on....and yet I couldn't stop listening. More twists and turns than I expected and each one tightens the plot until the book arrives at a very satisfying ending.
