Just felt like this one didn't really answer any of the questions it promised to answer. There's a lot of general ideas, and 'you have to search to find your purpose...' And this readers already know - we're reading the book for the author to give us a way to find our purpose, a direction, some guidance. It just felt very surface and basic and like a pitch from a guide who hoards all their 'good' tips and info once you come working with them one-on-one. So overall this one was a deception

This was an interesting and fresh book with some great topics.
It’s not my usual style of book but it’s an enjoyable read.

I really was inspired by this, the author doesn’t sugarcoat everything and she doesn't hide the negativity that is received in life. I definitely recommend this to younger women to learn earlier than me as a maturer adult, but even as a maturer woman it still motivates. I think all women need to read this

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

A great insight into the mind of someone who brought their side hustle to be their full time business. Inspiring stuff

I have made no secret over the last few weeks that I have been absolutely bingeing non-fiction, self improvement books, especially those by female authors.

Every time I read one of these incredible books, I am totally motivated to make a change, take control and live the intentional life I want. Then I close the book and carry on wasting my time. The problem is, I think: I will do that! What I need to think is: I am doing that, right now!

Scarlett V Clark's book was the one that shook me up. The Smart Girls Handbook seems to have two areas of focus: looking at how you can absolutely smash it and anecdotes from Scarlett's own experience of smashing it, raising her company to an empire. In my ARC review of this book, I said that it breathed positivity and that it made me believe in myself as much as the author clearly believes in herself. I meant this as a compliment, even if I had to shush the patriarchal voice in my head which made that sound sassy. Why the hell shouldn't she 'clearly believe in herself'?!

I loved this book. It really opened my eyes to "life". I am currently in the process of changing career and this has really helped me stay positive about it and the hurdles that need jumping. Also, I feel I am not too old to change career and plans. Scarlett doesn't hide the negativity that can be received throughout life and it is nice (not in a bad way) to see everyone receives negative issues about what they decide in life. I don't feel so alone anymore after reading this. I wish this was available when I was a teenager but as an adult it still motivates me. I think every young girls, teenagers, any girl starting a new career or wanting to open their own business needs to read this. Definitely 5 Stars. Thank you Scarlett for how life can be in one book.
