Wonderful series, and this adventure is just as much fun as the others.

Gleeful, reading this.
First the naughty Frank steals money because he wants a pet, then he finds a rival to his new zoo. And now, his poor parents need a seaside holiday away from their charges... but Frank can't bear to leave them, and hops on a train home...

It's adorable. Rollicking and rhythmic lines, as baby Frank takes matters into his own hands. The little guy causes mayhem which is visible in the illustrations, but remains a sweet little guy who just wants to be with the animals he loves and feels responsible for.

But this time, he has an ally in Grandma! Who not only is looking after the zoo for her grandson, but sees his runaway-train-ride on TV and takes matters into her own paws, I mean hands.

You'll raise a smile at the antics, and the love for family and animals in here. Some nice visual touches ('slow' and 'rather fast' on the train controls) for children and adults to spot. A great bedtime read to look at and listen to for young imaginations.

For ages 3-7.
With thanks to Netgalley for providing a sample reading copy.

Another great instalment in the Baby's First...series from Jim Whalley and Stephen Collins. My youngest loved the first two in the series and this was no exception! When mum and dad decide it's time for a holiday Frank worries so much about his zoo at home that he decides the only solution is to steal a train and get home as quickly as possible! A fabulously funny tale for young animal lovers.

Nicely put together drama in verse for the young, where baby is reluctant to go on a beachside holiday with his parents, and so manages to start up a steam train to take him home, where his gran is looking after his zoo. Of course. Exuberant absurdity of a kind the young audience will enjoy deserves four stars and perhaps a glint more.

I loved this book.

It was so cleverly written, I love rhyming children’s books. It makes them so much more engaging and easier to read.

I enjoyed the illustrations, they were visually stimulating and pleasing to look at and explore.

I really want to read the other books in this series.

Many thanks to the author and NetGalley for gifting me this arc in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

A delightful, fun tale that will have children laughing along to from beginning to end.

Baby Frank has lots of pets, so many so that his home is a zoo. Frank loves his pets, but his parents are finding they are a bit worn out and arrange a break away. While they head off on their travels, Grandma comes to look after the zoo and the animals. Franks a bit concerned the animals will be a little too much for her. He needn’t have worried, grandma and the animals were fine. While on the beach with his parents, frank sees an opportunity to sneak off and head back home to his beloved animal friends. He leaves a message in the sand and heads off to the train station. At the station, he is alone. He soon knocks a lever and off the train goes, frank in tow! This grabs the attention of the news and soon, while all settling down for a nice cup of tea, grandma and the animals see Frank on the TV on the train and spot he is in danger! Luckily grandma knows why to do, and with the help of the animals from the zoo, they work together to get to Frank, stop the train and save him from harm, much to his parents relief.

This is a sweet story, with lovely, rhyming text which flows easily and has lots of added humour and mischief. It is a perfect length for children of a younger age and I think they will enjoy this story. It has the ability to hold their attention throughout and is easy enough for them to follow. The illustrations are cute, colourful and fun. The characters and animals are clear and easy to identify who is who.

I really like this story. I enjoyed the humour and Franks determined character. It’s easy to read and I can see it becoming a popular choice of story, if it was on our bookshelves at my setting. In fact, I plan on making it an addition to our shelves when I am able.

What a funny story! My little ones loved it. The rhyming was just perfect to keep them hooked the whole way through. Really nice illustrations which followed the story perfectly. I’m off to check out the other in this series.

This is a very funny rhyming story for all animal loving children. It is about a little baby called Frank that has a zoo of animals at home. When his mum and dad decide to take him on holiday they leave Grandma in charge of the zoo. Frank is so worried about his animals he steals a train to get back home. He needs rescuing though and Grandma and his animals have to save the day. Great illustrations and a catchy rhyme make this a fun picture book. My two year old loved it and I know it is going to become one of his favourites! There are other books in the series so we will be buying these too.

A very funny rhyming tale about a baby called Frank who reluctantly leaves the family zoo to go on holiday with his parents. He decides however that he doesn’t want to be on holiday and accidentally steals a train in order to get home to his animals. My children found this hilarious. A great read!
