I want to put this book into the hands of everyone who is dear to me and then, I want to sit with them as they read it, and then talk about it.

This book has been so beautifully put together, it has an emotional power that should not be experienced alone. A book about love yes, but a book about life; how we choose to live it, how we weather what is thrown at us, how we support those around us, how we love each other and, as importantly, how we love ourselves.

What resonated for me is that life is about the connections that we make; romantic, familial, friendship - all of them of equal importance, all with infinite complexities, but all with intrinsic reward.

When we make these connections we need to demonstrate that we care; don’t take for granted that they know, we need to turn up, love is a moving thing, it takes work, it takes commitment.

A book so full of wisdom that it bubbles through your every day conversations. My hairdresser experienced that in glorious technicolour today; thankfully she was more than equal to the challenge of the thoughts and ideas that emanate from such meticulous research and impassioned prose.

A book for parents, for young adults, for friends, for those who are in a place of apparent security , for those who are facing changes that they did not expect…Natasha’s narrative is extensive and far reaching, I challenge anyone to not find resonance at some level.

Some of my favourite names got together to analyse everyone's favourite topic: love. Love in all of its forms. I absolutely loved this one, it moved me and made me feel seen.

An emotional but beautiful, comforting and uplifting discussion about the various types of love and connections, and also different ways of coping with loss and grief. The author incorporates interviews with a wide range of contributors, forming a well-balanced, comprehensive and inclusive read.

Can be read as a whole or by dipping into chapters covering specific aspects.

A great read and one that I will keep coming back to.

I loved this book and as a reflection on all possible types of love, there is something for everyone to take away from it.

Lunn set out to explore love and how relationships evolve over time, both by turning to experts and authors as diverse as Alain de Botton, Dolly Alderton and Candice Carty Williams and by drawing from her own experience, focusing on trying to answer three questions I am sure we have all asked ourselves at some point in our lives: How do we find love? How do we sustain love? How can we survive losing love?

What makes this book so special is that it is truly relatable, looking at love in all its forms – romantic and familial, as well as the love found in friendships and even in strangers. As someone who has been with the same person for 30 years, I found the section on sustaining love particularly thought-provoking, but equally found many things to reflect on in other sections. Lunn’s own story is a moving one and she skillfully intertwines it with the lessons she learnt from the interviewees, all combining to make this a compelling and moving book that will stay with me long after I put it down.

It's an enviable cast of writers that's been assembled here and I very much enjoyed dipping into whichever story suited my mood at the time. Roxanne Gay and Candice Carty-Willams have stayed with me - and this was one of those books that helped nudge me out of a writing and reading slump. I know the PB is due shortly so absolutely will be recommending on my books slot on Times Radio!

The complexity and different ways of love get explored in this book.
An interesting read that could help you think about love differently.

A beautifully written, comforting, life-affirming read on love in all its forms. Perfect for anyone who is fascinated by love, no group of people or type of love is excluded.

I’m not familiar with Natasha Lunn at all, to be honest I only know about this book because of Roxane Gay’s Instagram posts. Having read this book now? Well, it hit a nerve - a good nerve, is that a saying, here’s hoping.

Reading this had the same revelatory affect on me as read bell hooks and Alain de Boton (both whom Lunn generously quotes). Dating as we are now - knee deep in dating apps, yes, but also two years into a pandemic that renders all connection cold and at a distance - it’s difficult and it’s awkward and it can feel incredibly lonely, but this book helps you to realise that you aren’t the only one. Not the the only one obsessing and worrying. It’s a nice feeling to know that there are others, and the others that Lunn talks to are so wonderfully and interestingly selected. People whose thoughts were so apt.

Yes, this book hit a good nerve. A truly lovely, comforting thing.

I wasn’t sure what to make of this book at first, but in fact I enjoyed it. I thought it was beautifully written and very heartfelt. I liked the way the interviews were interspersed with Natasha’s own very honest stories and thoughts. It’s an unusual but very lovely book.
With grateful thanks to NetGalley for my copy.

I've been an avid reader of the CoL newsletter from the beginning and was glad a book was released so I could gobble up the wisdom in one go! Lunn's book celebrates love in many forms, going way beyond the romantic (which many books like this focus far too much on). Here's to love in all its forms!

So many writers featured in this book that drew me towards it, and all writing about love in different ways. A really enjoyable book to pick up in between reads.

Really loved the style of this book - loved the input from different authors. Dolly Alderton is a favourite of mine which made me want to read this in the first place. Definitely want a paper copy of this when I come across one !

This was a highly thought provoking read. The author interviews prominent philosophers about different aspects of love and vulnerability, asking us to expand our minds and reset our expectations around love; how narrow perceptions can cripple our ability to find a true love, dismissing as imperfect the love that is often right in front of us.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin General UK, Fig Tree for the opportunity to read Conversations On Love by Natasha Lunn. I have given this book four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Raw, emotional conversations that reflect upon love, grief, family, friends and much more. I thought it was really interesting to read all about the different types of love there is in the world from the conversations Natasha Lunn had with featured guests throughout this book. It definitely made me think more about what love is and the different ways love can be/is shown from being a young child all the way through to your adulthood.

It was fascinating to read people’s interpretations of what experiences and beliefs on love they have and I thought it would be a good book for anyone who is intrigued by interview styled non-fiction books based on love to pick up and read.

Unfortunately for personal reasons I had to stop reading.

Thank you for the auto approval and to NetGalley.

I absolutely loved this collection of interviews and reflections on love. How to find it, how to sustain it, and how to cope with the loss of it.

Written with unflinching candour, this is a reflection on life and the many kinds of love we encounter along the way. Love for our parents, or the lack of love which we carry forward into romantic liasions. Self love, or rather self compassion. Love for friends. Upon reading this wonderful book, we will see that we all experience similar emotions and we are not alone in feeling helpless and hopeless at times.

Particularly moving is the section dealing with loss. Truly moving accounts of people who have experienced deep loss, but who have managed to grow and evolve from a place of grief.

A really helpful and thought provoking read that I related to in so many ways. A book I will return to again and again.

Conversations on Love is one of the best non-fiction books I’ve read this year. I already subscribe to the newsletter of the same name and so I had high hopes, but the book is more than just a collection of shorter pieces - it’s incredibly well structured.

I’d recommend it for anyone who has struggled with traditional relationships, or anyone experiencing bereavement or fertility issues. .
