This was such a sweet book!

I don't know why, but with general observation, there seems to be a lot more MM romances than FF romances, so I'm super glad I discovered this author! We need more FF romances like this book! The characters were great, Harper was just the cutest, the families were all so supportive, it was so nice to relax and read this book.

This is a second chance book through and through and I was hooked on it from the beginning, seriously couldn't put it down!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books, Inc. for the earc in return for an honest review.

The story was intreating in some ways. liked Sutton and Kate just fine. not the kid, but felt like they were rushing things a lot. for exp, I really think Kate went back to Sutton quite fast and did not process whatever happened 10 years ago. - its not 2 years or anything small tbh so that should've been at least on the table! or held huge part of the book. Even at the end I still felt like the huge gap was not filled, " the past" was like a shadow to me and stayed there without solving. I would've loved to see more anger , more process , more everything. tho it did not upset me much, I did enjoy the read, but felt like something lacking while reading.

thank you for the author and her team for the copy in exchange of honest opinion,

Sutton Guidry and Kate Cormier were childhood friends and high school sweethearts. When one leaves their small Louisiana town for college a break up occurs. Ten years later Sutton returns to town temporarily to care for her father. She has gone on to a successful career. Kate is now a single mother and helps run the family store. Of course their paths will cross.

This is a gentle and steamy, second chance romance. The author's writing shows Sutton and Kate having very distinct personalities. Sutton is always jumping ahead in her thought process and often to the least positive outcome. Kate has had more challenges and lives in the moment. Her emotions are harder to gage except for what she shares with her brother Bryce. Daughter Harper 9, is funny and mature beyond her years. It is sweet to watch her relationship to Sutton develop.

I liked this book. It is low angst and a nice read on a brisk winter day when the country is experiencing the first anniversary of the Covid pandemic. I am new to the author and will look for other books by her. If you prefer a more heart wrenching second chance romance try "Strawberry Summer" by Melissa Brayden. Thank you to NegGalley and Bold Strokes Book, Inc for an ARC ebook in exchange for a honest review.

The concept of the book sounded appealing and was excited to read another book about second chances.

However, The plot fell a little short to me, and the entire time I was just waiting for a more dramatic reason as to why Sutton and Kate broke up. Loved the banter between the MCs and supporting characters, but the love scenes fell short for me too. Didn't feel too much of the chemistry, and it often times felt rushed.

Normally not a huge fan of second chance romance, but I really adored this book. I want a Sutton in my life.

In this book we’re introduced to Sutton and Kate, two teenage lovers who as the cliche on second chance romance goes broke up as teens only to cross paths a decade later.

The plot itself is in my opinion is overdone and cliche but who doesn’t love a good cliche. This book is an okay read, not much drama and at times boring. Sometimes felt like the relationship between Sutton and Kate was one sided as Kate’s feelings were mostly kept unwrap until she talks to her brother, who if I’m going to be honest is the most interesting character so much that I wouldn’t mind reading a spin-off about him.

I’m not much for drama filled books but this book didn’t really give me anything, even the love scenes felt dry. I love Sutton and Harper’s relationship, definitely the highlight of this book. I can’t come up with much of a criticism of this book because again, it didn’t really give me anything. Maybe it’s because of my exhaustion with the whole “second chance but one of them has a kid” arc.

If you’re looking for a no drama predictable book then here’s your recommendation but if you’re looking for something hot and funny then this isn’t for you as it wasn’t for me.
