I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

I am an avid Joan Reeves reader. This was a bit different than her rom/com books. I did eat joy. A easy fast read.

I received a complimentary copy of Every Little Lie in exchange for an honest review. Overall, this was a quick and easy read, and I found myself totally engaged waiting to find out what the story was between Elizabeth and her mom. I really enjoyed the relationship building between Max and Elizabeth and found the children added value and depth to the story.

Need a cozy romance?

Some books are just cozy to read, to lay back and relax, and this is just that! A book to read when melting the stress away with a strong female protagonist to guide you through it!

It was a nice enough story but I could have liked it more if Elizabeth had been less indecisive.
Her attempts to put an end to the story with Max were too many, all pitiful at best.
I wasn't a big fan of Max either to tell the truth: why waiting so much to share something so important of your life?

The most interesting part, in my opinion, was Elizabeth's mother storyline.
I was curious about her motives and I'd have liked to understand more about the big fallout between mother and daughter. We (the readers) get to know the 'what' - don't want to spoiler anything - but not much else about that particular event.

Ms. Reeves is a new author for me and I'm always excited to discover new authors one of the reasons i love Netgalley. I always get to discover new amazing authors.
What i love about Ms.Reeves is her writing style and how she brings her characters to life.

I had a hard time getting into the groove of this book and I don't know if I ever made the adjustment to get on board. I felt like I was reading an attempt to write, it wasn't confident and the character development was weak. Even though this is fiction and I wanted to easily escape, I did not fall for the insta-love and the romance that unfurled so quickly.

This book was dark and sad but in a way that makes you want to get lost in it. You will not want to stop reading this till you reach the end. The story moves and turns every page. Amazing book.

I started out really loving this book. It had everything you’d want in a fun read-a little mystery, great characters, and some steamy scenes. But I couldn’t get past the fact that the heroine just forgave this man for what he withheld from her. I just can’t believe that would happen in real life. It seemed too easy after that.

When Elizabeth is called back to her childhood home after her mother’s death, she can’t imagine what point there is. After an abusive childhood Elizabeth is expecting to be left nothing, but instead finds her mother has left her everything. There is a condition, though, Elizabeth must live in the house for three month. It;s during this time that she meets next door neighbor, Max. He’s charming and the chemistry is instant and Elizabeth is starting to feel like she’s found her place. And then she find out Max has three kids and all her fears of motherhood and repeating history comes crashing back down.

A heartfelt and emotional story packed with healing and love.

The story revolves around Elizabeth Stoneham, who is a lawyer. She is currently living with her best friend Sandy's apartment as she quit her job. She got to know from her aunt that her Mother dies so she goes to Houston to attend the funeral. After the funeral, she got to know about her mother's will that changes her life. The love interest is Max Kenyon, a Mystery Novel Writer, Father of Three, and next-door neighbor of Elizabeth.

The story started at a good pace. Liked the first few chapters but after that, the book got lost in a way for me. It loses its appeal. That's why I DNF(did not finish) the book.

You may like the book, but I didn't.

I enjoyed this story of Elizabeth overcoming childhood abuse and finding love.
Elizabeth returns to her childhood home in Texas because her mother, who she never had a good relationship with, has passed. Much to her surprise her mother has left her everything with the requirement that she live in the house for three months. Upon arriving at the house she meets the man moving in next door and sparks fly. A passionate relationship ensues. Then Elizabeth learns that the neighbor, Max, has three children. Elizabeth has always feared she would be like her mother and doubted her ability to be a good mother. She learns to have confidence in her abilities from Max’s children.
I enjoyed this story for the writing, the passion, and the solid women’s fiction it exudes.

A very engrossing story from start to finish. Elizabeth's character has a lot pain, questions and a mystery to sort as she comes home to take care of her mother" estate. Max is her mothers new neighbor, moving his family to Houston as a new start. Both Max and Elizabeth are engrossing characters and their story developed at a quick pace. It had some hit and misses in regards to his children and the few last chapters were a little rushed and the last confrontation with Max and his daughter a bit too predictable. Otherwise a enjoyable read.

If you are looking for a simple and sweet love story, here is what I recommend you read over the weekend. Every Little Lie by Joan Reeves is the perfect book you would want to cuddle up with. So team it up with a partner or a glass of wine, tucked in to bed to read this simple, sweet and straightforward book. It isn’t a lengthy narrative and is as light as you can expect a romantic book to be.

What stands out?
Simple straightforward tale, written well and brings out emotions of hope and longing. Makes you smile at parts and generally leaves you with a light feeling. You may just complete it in a day or two or in one sitting.
