Refined Cadence is all about Luke and Rose finding each other after they circle because of mutual friends. I enjoyed watching these two come to terms with their feelings and how they helped each other deal with the family secrets.

Wow, where to begin with Refined Cadence by Angela K Parker? For the sake of full disclosure, I did not read the first book in the series and maybe that gave some background that I needed, but I seriously doubt that it could compensate for the writing, lack of character development and generally whininess of the characters in this novel. I won't go into a recap because it's not worth it, but I knew the book was in trouble when one of the minor characters said "this is my queue to leave". Really Ms. Parker? If you check Webster's dictionary or google, you would find that a queue is a line of people waiting their turn. Cue was the word you wanted. There were several examples of this throughout the book, but that was the most glaring. How did something like that get through the writing and editing processes.

Luke was one of the most narcissitic men I've ever read about. He made everything about him. Maybe he would have better relationships if he just looked beyond his narrow parameters for a change. I wanted Rose to go running, and I thought it hysterical how easily both of them made peace with their little encounter in high school that really was nothing, when they had both stewed over it for years. and let it affect every other relationship they had. Luke's brother's solution to handling Luke's groupie by marrying her after paying her off when she wanted more money was equally ludicrous.

Thank you to the author, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this novel to anyone.

They went to high school together. They have some bumps in the road but they are good. It was a good book. The secrets within were a wow moment
