Keep My Secrets" is a narrative about Frankie's background and what she believes occurred fifteen years ago that is interwoven with her current situation. At first glance, the two seem to be quite different. It would have been easier to cheer for Frankie to be able to keep what occurred a secret if she was a more appealing character. It's difficult not to be astonished by what happens when the past and present finally meet.

As you go through the story grows more complex and fascinating. If you skim or speed through a book, you may lose out on a crucial aspect, scene. Despite the fact that this book isn't very fast-paced, it's still worth reading.

Frankie Turner has had a tough life, and is now working as a social worker. She is also hiding a big secret from her past and someone has come back to remind her.
Everything seems to be coming back and someone is all set to ruin her current life.
This was a fast pace thriller, a good page turner - the past and the present come together very well.
Thanks to netgalley & Hera Books for the ARC.

Told over 2 timelines, I could not stop reading this book, so much so I couldnt stop thinking about it. Just when you think you know whats going to happen . So many gasp moments.

Frankie is an absolutely amazing character. A character that has had a very tough upbringing herself. She is now looking to help youngsters who find themselves in a similar situation.
The book flips timelines, between the present day and when Frankie was in the foster system as a child. It is not difficult to follow and I really enjoyed an insight into the foster system, not knowing much about it myself.
The book was intriguing and tense.
The book was so addictive, with many twists and turns throughout.
I really enjoyed this book.

Keep My Secrets is the second book by Elena Wilkes and what a brilliant read this book was, I book was so addictive and hooked within the first few pages and so glad I did not have work the next day. Before I knew it the birds were singing and I was coming up to the last few chapters. It was a great thriller, full of twists and turns throughout, that will mess with your head!!!!
All the characters were great and so realistic I like all of them.

I highly recommended this book and its. definitely going to be one of my favourite reads of this year.

BIg Thank you to NetGalley and Hera Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This book is a thriller that follows Frankie, a married woman running from secrets in her past that she is trying to keep hidden from her husband, Alex. She has worked very hard to keep her past hidden and move on with her life until she starts receiving messages and thinks someone from her past is stalking her. Her husband starts to think something is going on but thinks that she is having an affair. Frankie must confront her past before she loses her husband and this new life that she has built for herself.

Overall, I did enjoy this story. The beginning of the story was a bit slow for me. It was a lot of her and her husband, Alex, who I found to be kind of annoying and clingy. Once the past started to integrate in the story— the plot picked up. The chapters were a bit longer than my personal preference but this book did hold my attention until the very ending. I was very intrigued with Frankie and her past and curious how that part of the story was going to end. There were a few twists and turns in this story that I didn't see coming. I always like to be surprised or shocked in a book— that is what makes for a great thriller. I also really enjoy the ending. I felt very satisfied with how the story ended for all of the characters.

I also thought the author did a good job of blending the past with the present in the plot. The only preference I would have had would be to maybe label the chapters when it is the past and present. For me, it just allows me to easily dive into the past or get back into the present seamlessly without having to read a sentence or two to switch your brand to a different time jump.

Old sins and past lies resurface in the most startling and alarming of ways in Elena Wilkes’ latest chilling page-turner, Keep My Secrets.

Frankie Turner has spent most of her life feeling like an outsider. Growing up, she always felt unloved and unwanted, having been abandoned by her parents to be brought up in care. Frankie has known pain and hardship and the agonizing anguish of rejection, but she had vowed not to let the unfortunate circumstances of her birth condemn her to a lifetime of feeling like a spare part. But just how far did Frankie go to unshackle herself from the curse of her own past? What secret is she hiding? And what is Frankie’s connection to the murder of a young beautiful woman fifteen years ago?

Frankie has done her best in order to be there for the kids under her care. As a social worker, she knows what these kids are going through and what they are feeling and she hopes to be able to make a real difference to all of them. Nobody knows better than Frankie just how lonely and crushing life in care can be, but have the ghosts of her own past been laid to rest? How can Frankie care for others when she is still hiding from her own tortuous past? A past nobody knows anything about…not even her husband, Alex.

But the past cannot and will not stay hidden for long. Somebody knows what Frankie did and the time has come for the truth to finally come out. Someone is terrorising Frankie with spine-chilling messages and menacing letters to the house she shares with her husband. Can Frankie find out who is wreaking their revenge on her? Can she unmask her stalker before her shameful past comes to light? Or is Frankie already far too late and her darkest secrets are about to come out into the light?

Elena Wilkes’ Keep My Secrets grips like a vice and has more twists and turns than a rollercoaster. Elena Wilkes explores the dark recesses of the human condition and has penned a dark, shocking and disturbing thriller about the lengths people go to to escape the past, the lies they tell themselves and others in order to survive and the demons that still persecute them regardless of how hard they try to vanquish them that will certainly keep readers turning the pages.

A creepy and absorbing thriller readers won’t be able to put down, Elena Wilkes’ Keep My Secrets is one chilling read that is impossible to forget.

Hidden in the past, the story was all about equalizing the hurt in the present. You could call it revenge even.

Frankie had redefined herself to escape her past. But as they said it always caught up. And now Frankie was scrambling to maintain a semblance of order in the world of Chas that her life had exploded into. Strange things started happening to her.

Written in dual timelines, I liked how Elena Wilkes had etched her into a complex human with layers hidden in. There were twists and turns in all the truths of the past.

As the author unfurled the story, each page led me into a land of insecurity as I truly didn’t know who was telling me the truth. Loved the fact that the truth kept shifting in every page. Kept me on my toes.

Shades of good and bad in every character were shown, which raised the story to the perfect pitch. Almost. 2 niggles. The first section was very murky didn’t know where the story was going. Had I not known the talent of this author, I would have given up. Frankie was so difficult to love in the entire book. But that could be how the author wanted to portray her.

But as the story took shape and distrust mounted up, it was so easy to get caught up in the thrill of this book. Quite a pleasurable breakfast read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free arc in exchange for an honest review.

This story is told over 2 timelines, past and present. We follow Frankie who grew up in care and seems to make a series of bad choices. She ends up getting mixed up in the family of a girl her then boyfriend and father of her unborn baby was sent to prison for murdering. This story had a lot going on, I found the pace in the middle a little slow but it certainly improved towards the climax. Overall a good read.

Thanks to the publisher for the ebook copy in exchange for my honest review and blog tour spot!

Another solid thriller for 2021! In a sea of thrillers and suspense reads that feel so similar and predictable this was a breath of fresh air. KEEP MY SECRETS was captivating and held my attention once the action picked up. So many questions about Frankie’s past and I just loved how the author would slowly give up little bits of information to keep you on edge. I want to keep this short and sweet so I don’t risk spoiling anything – just know you’ll have to clear out some time once you pick this up because it’ll hook you.

This was my second book by Wilkes and she did not disappoint! Memorable characters, and not all of them the most likeable (gotta have someone to hate in every story, right?) I highly recommend both KEEP MY SECRETS and THE MAN I MARRIED if you’re looking for something quick and exciting.

'Keep My Secrets' by Elena Wilkes is a psychological thriller that is that good it has the possibility to really mess with your head.
We meet Frankie Turner, she definitely knows what it’s like to be unwanted; she was brought up in care. Now as a social worker to kids in the same system, she’s someone who understands … But Frankie is hiding an unthinkable secret: one that may have its roots in the murder of a young, beautiful woman fifteen years ago.
Right from the start of the book we can tell that Frankie has secrets from the past that she doesn't want anyone to know. The story unfolds and her past is slowly revealed as we see how it affects her present day life.
The suspense was spine tingling as the story revealed more and more of her past.
Elena Wilkes has spun a tale that keeps you glued to the book. The story is full of twists and blind alleys. Just as you think you have it Elena Wilkes throws a red herring in so you do an about turn...and still never guess right. I read this as fast as I could as I was really wanting to find out if I could be at all right! Nope! I was running on adrenaline all through this book! The conclusion even managed to surprise me. A fabulous read and highly recommended to anyone who loves a read packed with secrets, suspense and shocks.
Thanks to Books On The Bright Side,NetGalley and Hera Books for the copy of the book.

Frankie had a tough start in life, growing up in the care system, but has succeeded in turning her life around and is now doing well for herself. The question is, how long will it last? With secrets from her past threatening to jeopardise her future, what lengths will she go to protect herself and her life? Her teen lover has is back on the scene after being released from prison and her marriage has some underlying issues. Frankie is also feeling threatened by mysterious notes beginning to appear. Are these events connected or is there someone else involved? Will the secrets from her past be revealed? I loved the way the book flipped between Frankie's story from when she was younger and then Frankie's current story. The merging at the end made it a shocking, unpredictable and satisfying twisty ending which I did not see coming! A complete shocker!

Our main character Frankie's upbringing had been very tough, at the age of three, she had been discarded like a bag of rubbish in a derelict building. She had eventually been discovered by a kindly man called Frank and found herself in the care system. After spending her life in care, at the age of seventeen, she thought that she had finally found love in the shape of a volunteer at her foster home called Martin. But one night everything went wrong after she had a argument with Martin and a girl called Charlotte at a party. The next day, Charlotte's body is found in the canal near Martin's houseboat and he is arrested and charged with her murder. After the court case, Frankie found herself living in the home of Vanessa and Peter Vale, who just happened to be Charlotte's parents. But were they the caring couple they appeared to be? Why did their son Jack keep insisting that Frankie shouldn't trust them?

Fifteen years later, Frankie is now married to Alex, is a social worker and is prepared to do everything in her power including bending the rules to help the youngsters who are in her care. She absolutely loves her job but Alex's business is failing, his self esteem has hit rock bottom and due to Frankie's recent behaviour, is convinced that she is cheating on him. Unbeknownst to Alex, Frankie has been receiving silent phone calls and love letters and is convinced that her secrets from the past have caught up with her. It appears that someone knows what she did all those years ago and is determined to make her pay for her actions and behaviour.

The story is narrated entirely from the perspective of Frankie and is set both in the present day and fifteen years in the past. Having been abandoned at a young age and brought up in the care system, it wasn't difficult to understand why she was such a vulnerable individual when she was younger. All most people want in life is to feel loved and wanted and after her upbringing, I didn't think it was very surprising how easily Frankie was manipulated by unscrupulous characters. There was more than one untrustworthy individual scattered throughout her life, characters who were not who they appeared to be and possibly hiding sinister dark desires and behaviour. Alex's actions and behaviour in the present day caused me to experience some feelings of guilt, I know what it's like to be overwhelmed by your feelings of paranoia and mistrust, they can actually become a obsession that takes over your thoughts 24/7. So, I could fully understand his conflicting feelings and emotions over his life with Frankie but that didn't mean that I thought his actions were justified or excusable. What were the secrets that Frankie didn't want Alex to know about? Who was behind the campaign against Frankie and so determined to destroy her life?

Omg, this addictive, cleverly written thriller has more twists and turns than a roller coaster and a water slide that have been combined together to form one hell of a fast paced thrill ride. The plot is intricate, keeps you guessing, glued to your kindle and has a cast of vivid, realistic characters. This is a absolutely brilliant psychological thriller, worth all the stars and more and very very highly recommended. This is definitely going to be one of my favourite reads of this year.
