Highly entertaining, exciting, laugh out loud fun and action-packed journey filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and emotional moments. Was so hard to put down once the emotional roller-coaster adventure began.

This is the first book in the Chammont Point series. This book focuses on cancer survivor, Jade. Determined to start over, Jade schedules a family vacation to a lakefront cabin. When her kids bail and her husband, Nick, stays home to handle a last minute work crisis, Jade heads to Chammont Point alone, determined to dust herself off and figure out what to do with the rest of her life. While she’s away, the life she thought she had unravels.

While trying to figure out how to move forward she meets Darby and Taylor. Together the three women build a friendship and navigate their lives.

A story of rediscovering oneself and moving on from pain. I enjoyed the light easy style of writing and the characters in an amazing setting. Jade had had a lot to cope with and she came out fighting showing herself to be a strong woman. Left on a cliffhanger there are more to come in the series

Thank you Netgalley and Pink Sand Press for the opportunity to read and review this.

A book of self-discovery, friendship and letting go of the past. Jade Kelly's life is turned upside down when she returns home early from a trip. Heartbroken and angry, she returns to the cabin where she was originally at for her trip, working through the pain, meeting and forming new friendships, who each have their own past that they are also dealing with (which appears will be explored in future novels).

Throughout the book, Jade learns to face her pain, and accept her newfound emotions, instead of putting on a facade. And with the help with her newfound friends, learns to know that she is not alone.

EXCERPT: When Nick had suggested they take a vacation to celebrate Jade's recovery from colorectal cancer, he said they could go anywhere she wanted. He was probably expecting her to plan a trip to London or New York City, since Jade had always preferred fast-paced destinations over places like this. But she'd chosen to return to Chammont Point and the lake that had been so prominent in the photos of that first vacation many years ago.

He'd been confused over her choice until she explained how much she'd come to cherish the memories they'd made there. Xander and Owen had learned to water ski on Chammont Lake. They'd all sat by a fire and roasted marshmallows while they shared stories and jokes. Jade couldn't remember a time when they'd felt more like a family than their time exploring the small town and playing in the water. She wanted more of that.

After her recent health scare, the bright lights of Broadway and a city filled with endless dining options no longer had the same appeal to her. She'd fought hard for this second chance. Spending it in crowded theaters and noisy restaurants seemed like a waste of time when she could enjoy the quiet lake with her husband. Of course, now she just had the quiet lake, but maybe that was better.

ABOUT 'THE RESTARTING POINT': Marketing executive and mother of two, Jade Kelly can now add cancer survivor to her list of successes. But while her life looks good on paper, four months out of treatment, Jade realizes she hardly knows her college-age children and she and her husband Nick are little more than housemates.

Determined to start over, Jade schedules a family vacation to a lakefront cabin. When her kids bail and Nick stays home to handle a last minute work crisis, Jade heads to Chammont Point alone, determined to dust herself off and figure out what to do with the rest of her life.

While she’s away, the life she thought she had unravels. Secrets, lies, and old wounds drive Jade into new adventures and new relationships. With the help of family and new found friends, Jade learns starting over sometimes means finding a brand new restarting point.

MY THOUGHTS: I had been looking for an uplifting, feel-good read for a couple of weeks with little success. And then I started The Restarting Point by Marci Bolden. I struck gold. This ticked all my boxes. Three wonderful, quirky, female characters, and I mean characters, not exactly in the first flush of youth, who had me laughing, crying, and shaking my head at them.

It is the characters that make this read, not that there is anything wrong with the plot. Darby is a flamboyant 1950s throwback; Taylor is more comfortable with a hammer in her hand than a lipstick; Jade is the reason they came together, and is the glue that binds them.

Each of these women has had her self-confidence shattered; each is trying to find her place in life; and each is supportive and protective of the others, that is when they aren't squabbling or taking umbrage at something said. This trio seems to spend a lot of time at two on one; either two supporting one, or one refereeing a spat between two. These characters are absolutely delightful, relatable and realistic.

This is a story of pain and loss, of friendship, support, and beginning again.

The Restarting Point is written in an easy, heartfelt style. The story is every bit as wonderful as the beautiful cover. The plot flows easily, and I simply raced through the story, wanting to find out what happens to these three women, but not wanting the story to end.

I immediately picked up and began the sequel to The Restarting Point, and I am loving it just as much. Thank you Marci Bolden for this delightful book. You have just won over a new fan.

THE AUTHOR: As a teen, Marci Bolden skipped over young adult books and jumped right into reading women's fiction and romance novels.

Marci lives in the Midwest with her husband, two teenaged kiddos, and numerous rescue pets. If she had an ounce of will power, Marci would embrace healthy living but until cupcakes and wine are no longer available at the local grocery store, she’ll put that ambition on hold and appease her guilt by reading self-help books and promising to join a gym “soon.”

Restarting Point is Marci Bolden's first book in her new series - Chammont Point. It is full of well developed characters - ones that you would love to meet - that make you feel their emotions as you laugh and cry with them. The theme running throughout is friendship, love and heartbreak, and starting over. I will definitely follow these delightful characters in the Chammont Point series. It is an easy fun read - enjoyable comfort book!

Okay, i have mixed feelings about this.
It had such a strong beginning, i was expecting the kind of book that keeps you entranced until you finish it, and then as everything in life, it turned boring and flat.
It had a couple of master scenes, one of them, the one with her husband leaving, had me feeling real heartache.
The main character wasn't likable, which on these kind of books, the one that centers in one character is a bad thing, she didn't manage to make me feel invested in her life story and struggles.
That said, i liked the writing style immensely, it was light and breezy, it was awesome.

What a wonderful story of self discovery, friendship and letting go of the past. Jade’s life is turned upside down when she returns home from a trip to an unexpected surprise. As she works through the pain, she meets some friends along the way that become her allies and sounding board. As she begins her new life there is a lot of soul searching, reflection and forgiveness that helps her cope with the future. The new friends all have a little baggage of their own, yet as they lean into each other and support one another they find out what the true meaning of friendship is. A really beautiful story. I requested an arc and I am proving my honest review.

This is a story with cancer, cheating, divorce, and some wonderful friends.

I enjoy that the way this story unfolds, with plenty of inspiring healing.

This is definitely a good read.

Struggled a bit with this one at the beginning and was tempted to put it down, but I have to say, I'm glad I didn't - it was definitely worth persevering with.

This is a story about Jade Kelly - mother of two and cancer survivor. Thinking the worst was over, she looks forward to rebuilding her life. Starting with a vacation of which her husband could not make, she goes it alone only to find out that while she was going through chemo her husband had other ideas.

She returns home to find him cheating on her. How will she pick up her life and what will she do. This is a story of courage, of someone who meets other women who also have courage and together they make each other stronger through this nighmare she has to do through.

Loved the story and cant wait to read Book #2 This book was just released so it is available now although I received it through #Netgalley. #fourstars

The Restarting Point by Marci Bolden is the first book in her new Chammont Point series. Jade Kelly is an accomplished woman. As a wife, mother of 2 and successful marketing executive, she can now add cancer survivor to her life. While everything seems great in appearances, she realizes that she and her family need to reconnect after the stress of her treatments left Jade and her husband, Nick, basically housemates and her children are almost strangers. Jade is determined to start over, to start fresh with her new chance at life. She schedules a family vacation at a lakefront carbon. When her kids bail and Nick stays home to handle a work crisis, Jade heads to Chammont Point alone. Her vacation turns into a life-altering moment as secrets, lies and old wounds open new adventures and new relationships for Jade. With the help of family and her new found friends, Jade learns that starting over isn’t always what you thought it would be.
The Restarting Point is my first Marci Bolden book, although I have two of her books from the Life Without Water series on my To-Be-Read list. It is a great story with plenty of drama and humor. Jade was a hard character to care for as she is very blunt and rough, almost that there is no softness to her. I felt for her as she faced certain death and survived, only to be dealt a devastating blow. However, she is surrounded by a wonderful cast of colorful characters that start to soften her rough edges, especially the flashy and outgoing Darby and the flirty Liam Cunningham. She begins to see where she sacrificed too much and the price she paid for those sacrifices. Overall, I enjoyed The Restarting Point and I am looking forward to reading more in the Chammont Point series to find out what new adventures the residents of Chammont Point can get into. I recommend The Restarting Point.

The Restarting Point is available in paperback and eBook.

There is a lot of emotional baggage in this book. I will start by saying that Chammont Point seems to be the place people go to start over. Jade is starting a new life after surviving cancer. The life she thought she was starting isn't really the way life decided she should go. This book is very emotional and the title really is correct on what Jade is doing with her life. I am happy to know that this is only book one because I'm not done learning about these characters. This book is a good start to something better for Jade, Taylor and Darby and I look forward to seeing where their life goes. I am leaving this review voluntarily after being sent a free book.

Jade learned that sometimes life isn't fair, when she spent a year fighting cancer. She was finally in remission and was going to go on a family vacation. Things didn't go according to plan and Jade ended up going on vacation by herself.
When she arrived the cabin looked nothing like the one in the brochure she had seen. She decided to stay any way. When she went out on the balcony she leaned out further and fell. Darby the owner of the cabin lived next door, and she came to help Jade. She ended up with a sprained ankle and decided to go home. When she arrived home she discovered her husband didn't go on vacation with her because he was moving out.
She ended up going back to the cabin and her and Darby became friends. Darby was trying to fix up the cabin, but it wasn't working out. She decided to hire a man who she called eye candy, but Jade told her she wasn't because he was swindling her. Jade helped her search for a contractor and hired Taylor to fix up the cabin.
The three women bonded, became friends, and nurtured each other as they started to grow and begin to change. They came from different backgrounds, had different personalities, but they became family. Along the way, they discovered their restarting point, and along with that, they started to see things a little differently. Jade realized her husband stayed with her and supported her through her year of fighting cancer and was grateful for that, so she didn't have to fight it alone.
Sometimes life isn't fair and sometimes life will bring together the people that will make your life amazing.

Jade Kelly after reminiscing past family vacations on the lake, didn't have THIS in mind! Jade thought of this as a time to reconnect with her husband and sons, after having battled cancer but here she is by herself. Her husband, Nick, couldn't make it but insisted that she still go. Her adult sons backed out.

Jade stands looking at the dilapidated shack and small cove comparing it to the brochure with which she had based renting the cabin. Trying to get a better look at the lake, Jade leans over and finds herself flying to meet the ground. Out of nowhere comes a lady ready to give her CPR!

The lady is the proud owner of the shack, Darby Zamora, who happens to live next door. A lady with quite a flair for style and doesn't much care what people think of her. Thanks to Darby's quick thinking, Jade has a ride in the ambulance where it's not a broken leg, but a sprained ankle.

Jade returns home and receives a very unpleasant surprise. Seething with anger and hurt, Jade returns back to Chammont Point.

Jade tumble to the ground was due to the banister giving way. After Eye Candy tries to swindle Darby to make the repair of the banister that gave out and lead to Jade's unfortunate tumble, Jade steps in to locate a reputable contractor. A female contractor by the name of Taylor O'Shea, who announces her business is closed for good. Jade convinces Taylor to repair the banister.

Jade, Darby, and Taylor come to form a friendship. Something that none of them truly had. When Jade first decided to live life differently, she had no idea that her vacation was going to bring her so much more than what she first intended!

I loved this story! If we could pick our friends, I would definitely pick Darby and Taylor! I just loved Darby right off the bat! Her character is so flamboyant and had me laughing throughout! The three were mismatched but were like puzzle pieces that just fit perfectly. I felt Jade's emotions at heart but also loved how she started to overcome her anger with some wise words from another friend, Liam. I loved that in the end, Jade's reconnecting adventure leads her to new friends and a place to find peace. I'm looking forward to more books in this series!

I requested and received an ARC from NetGalley via Pink Sands Press and I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this to read and review. I love Marci’s book and this one didn’t last long enough! Jade goes to a cabin for a vacation, the descriptions of the cabin were hilarious, then she falls off the balcony and Darby rescues her ! She ends up broken hearted, alone and trusting no one especially herself. But she learns to live again, made some great friends and totally started over from scratch! Absolutely loved this one!

I think any female would enjoy this book. It's a great read and is excellently written. Marci makes you feel like you are part of the story and like Jade, Darby and Taylor could be your best friends, family or neighbors. As this story unfolds, it reminds me so much of the friendships we all strive for and wish we had as adults. Who doesn't want fun friends who also care about you and are willing to help you pick up the pieces to your life when you need it most, even though you haven't known them all that long? It really is true that you find out who your friends are when you need them most. I can't wait to see what the rest of the series will bring for these three women who have found so much of themselves in the first book and in each other. I also wouldn't mind visiting Chammont Point. Marci creates this quaint little town (or at least how I picture it) for us to fall in love with as well. Overall, this is a very well written book about love, friendship, starting over and finding yourself along the way.
