This book was an enjoyable read. It wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t a let down either. It was just a nice book to read in bed before going to sleep.

I’ve been reading so many of Portia MacIntosh’s books over the past few months and I can safely say that this one in particular sits somewhere in the middle of the pack.

I say the same thing with all of her books and I’ll continue to say it as often as I need to but the characters in these books are just so relatable! Add to the fact that they’re from the UK (which is where I reside), I genuinely feel like I’m reading about someone I know or someone who I would just casually pass on the street on the way to work, that’s how relatable the characters are to me and I love it! It’s one of the main reasons why I continue to read Portia’s stories.

I liked the plot of this one. It was different but not too over the top or too bland and the ending just had me smiling ear to ear so that definitely helped to boost the rating up for me personally.

Overall a good read and would recommend it to anyone just looking for a casual romance story with a bit of drama thrown in.

This was a very fun book. Wacky and bit over the top, with a dizzying amount of twists and turns. I was completely unrealistic, but intentionally, so it worked and it was a lot of fun to read. Save it for a stressful day when you need some escapist reading.

This was a faced paced, laugh out loud romantic comedy.
Peach's little sister, Di, has met the man of her dreams and has decided, a week later, that they are going to get married. So Peach, Di and their friends and family join the groom to be, Charles, and his friends and family in a private villa in Italy for a whirlwind destination wedding.
Lots of fun twists and turns, many fun moments , and enjoyable characters make this a wonderful beach read.

I stumbled upon Portia MacIntosh books late last year and really enjoyed the ones I read. I was excited to see she has a new one coming out. Life’s A Beach is definitely a great beach read. It’s a typical rom com which isn’t a bad thing. I loved Matt and Peach, Charles and Di, and all their friends. This book has some nice twists in the storyline. Towards the end I was ready for things to wrap up and eventually did. I loved the ending but would also love some books about the other characters. This story has a lot and they are all unique. Overall I give this 4 ⭐️.

I have loved all of Portia’s books, and this one was just as good as the rest. Couldn’t put it down once I had started it, so many laugh out loud moments. Definitely worth reading!

Life's A Beach is the perfect light hearted and hilarious summer read! I flew through this book in one day absolutely loved it. This is the perfect romcom that will transport you to the beaches of Italy and will have you laughing out loud. I really enjoyed Peach's character and seriously felt for her when things started to go wrong. Sometimes it really felt like the poor girl could not catch a break. I think one of my favorite characters had to be Peach and Di's cousin, Vanessa. She is the hilarious side character that every romcom needs. The entire book takes place in about a week so it is fast paced and full of surprises that you do not see coming. If you are a fan of romcom movies like The Wedding Date and When in Rome, then this book is just for you!

Overall rating was 4/5 stars. Make sure to catch this summer release!

I am relatively new to reading Portia MacIntosh’s books and am devouring as many of them as possible. I was delighted to be able to read this latest novel.

Penelope (Peach to her family and friends) is employed as a mystery shopper. She is at the airport to pick up her sister, Di but the flight has been delayed. Her and Di were meant to be going for a meal and staying in a hotel as part of Peach’s work so when Di doesn’t turn up, on the spur of the moment she invites a man age has only just met who is waiting on his friend from the same flight. Long story short they hit it off, have a great night and Peach thinks it is the start of something beautiful until she awakes next morning to find him gone.

She later picks up her sister who drops the bombshell that she is getting married the following week in Italy to a man she has only just met. The rest of the novel is set in a romantic resort on Naples and is highly entertaining, especially after cousin Vanessa turns up. I cannot recommend it enough.

I have just finished Life’s a Beach and I really enjoyed it. I’m a fan of Portia MacIntosh; her books are feel-good romantic-comedies and are easy to read.

Peach is due to pick her sister up from the airport. The flight is delayed and she meets Matt. Matt is a great love interest, there’s no messing about, he’s as straight as an arrow. The cliched brooding alpha male is so tired now, so Matts refreshing honesty made him a perfect character.

Peach is funny, and supporting characters were good. There’s lots of characters, but the author does a great job of individualising them so that their personalities distinguish them from the group.

The storyline was good; there was no great mystery or edge-of-your-seat shocks, just a nice story with a nice ending.

I read this over a weekend and enjoyed it completely.

At the beginning of this engaging comedy of errors, Penelope (AKA Peach) is waiting to meet her sister’s flight home from Greece when the announcement comes that the flight will be delayed by several hours. Peach is a “mystery shopper,” who visits shops, hotels, restaurants, and resorts incognita to assess their strengths and shortcomings. She is due to have dinner and stay at a hotel near the airport. Because her sister is delayed, Peach invites Matt, who is meeting a friend off the same flight, to be her companion for the dinner. They hit it off well, but Matt disappears afterwards without even a goodbye. To make matters worse, Peach's sister finally arrives with the news that she has met and become engaged to Charlie, a fellow vacationer in Greece, in the space of a week. When Di brings Charlie home to meet her family, Peach realizes that he is her high-school nemesis and bully. To make matters worse, when they all leave for Di and Charlie’s destination wedding on the Italian coast, it turns out that Charlie is the friend that Matt was at the airport to meet and that Matt will be his best man. Added to the mix at the wedding are Chris, Peach’s cheating ex-boyfriend, Alex, Di’s jealous ex, and the sisters’ good-time girl cousin Vanessa.
The novel’s misunderstandings and mix-ups, along with the volatile relationships amongst the wedding party and guests, make it a fun and entertaining read. The dialogue sparkles with humor and wit, and the train (or possibly train-wreck) of events carries the reader along to the end quickly. The characters are relatable, and in true rom-com style, the romances between the various couples develop in a satisfyingly light-hearted way. This is a well-written light read worthy of making the trip to many a beach this summer. Life’s a Beach comes out early in May 2021.

Peach meets Matt at an airport, totally unlike herself she invites him back to her hotel room. She thinks they have connected but wakes to find he has gone.
Fast forward to her sister getting engaged to Charlie, a man from Peach's past, and Matt turning out to be the best man. thrown together at a destination wedding will Peach and matt have another chance?

laugh out loud, adorable. heart-warming.

This book was such a fun and light read, i enjoyed every aspect of it. So many moments had me laughing out loud and some were just so heart-felt. I really enjoyed getting to meet all the characters, Peach and Matt are top notch clownery and i say that in a good way. They really fooled themselves, and that ending had me smiling because it was just so sweet and so them.

The whole book was a bunch of clownery, everyone hiding something from another and it all just smoothing itself over in a nice and soft way. The softness of this book is actually really well balanced even if there is little to no angst, it all just plays out so well and I highly recommend this book to everyone.

it was like having a romcom in my hands.

Because sometimes life is a beach.

Life is a Beach is a lovely rom-com where all possible things go wrong during a destination wedding.

Peach is a sensible 31yo who inadvertently had a one-night-stand with the person who would turn out to be the best man in her sister's wedding.

She didn't expect to see Matt again after he left the morning after without even saying good-bye, but there he was, and now she would have to endure a whole trip to Italy in his company and to spend the entire week in the same vila with him.

To make matters even worse, Peach accidentally invited her sister's ex to the wedding, and he meant trouble.

The book was so much fun! Everybody was connected and had something to hide.

I love Portia's witty dialogues and her adorably awkward characters. Peach and Matt were so lovely and had great chemistry.

I read the book in one sitting. I just could not put it down.

Life is a Beach is a fun light read, with wonderful characters and great bantering.

Lovely read!

A good summery and light beach read. Peach is my girl and I enjoyed her character immensely. This was a little on the predictable side but it did not bother me as much because the overall story was relatable and fun. This probably will not be the top beach of 2021 but deserves an honorable mention plus the cover was fitting too. Give Peach a chance!

Recommended. Easy to read in a few days.

I received an advance copy of, Life's A Beach, by Portia MacIntosh. Peach's sister is getting married to a man she has known for a week. This book was ok, if a bit immature. I could not connect withe the characters at all.

This was my first Portia MacIntosh Novel, and what a delight! Our main protagonist Peach, is such a funny character and dramatically so. We need to give her kudos for being (well trying) an amazing bridesmaid to her sister, although there are definitely hiccups along the way - but that's what made this such an entertaining read. Her entanglement with her love interest in the story was the perfect amount of rom com. Although there were some areas that felt unresolved with character development, this is the perfect book for a beach read. It was also great to have the escapism of the books setting! Would definitely read more from this author.

It’s the story of two sisters Peach and Di. Takes place mostly in Naples when these sisters and their friends go there for the wedding of Di with Charles, whom she met a week prior to and decided to get married. Peach tries to avoid the best man Matt as he ghosted her after the deed.

Peach tried to avoid Matt and the ensuing situations brought much needed hilarity which you expect in Macintosh’s books. Their conversations are witty, laced with frostiness. All The important guests at the wedding share a history ranging from being ex-boyfriends, one-night stands, being ghosted, first boyfriends... all this makes their presence awkward but they have to keep the lid on for the sake of Di. Macintosh has cleverly used all this awkwardness to create funny situations.

My favorite character is their bombshell cousin Vanessa. She takes the wedding parties to the next level with her craziness. I don’t think anyone thought about mixing hen and stag parties together, but our Vanessa plans one. Read to find out what happened there. By the end of the book, Vanessa seemed normal compared to these sisters and their ex/boyfriends.

There was a lot of drama here and some of it was daft too. Peach’s actions seem over the top and ridiculous but just go with the flow to enjoy the ride and don’t look for logic. One thing that annoyed me most was how everyone at the wedding shared a relationship, it grossed me out. These relationships can’t get any crazier than this, even at one point, Peach wondered about these by listing them out and made me roll my eyes. There were too many coincidences which were utterly unbelievable.

Overall, it was a light, funny, fluffy, and pure escapist read which transports you to glorious locations.
