Throughly enjoyed this one, like all of Sandie Jones books. I was hooked right from the beginning and kept me guessing throughout. Many twists and turns to keep the reader intrigued

This book was right down my alley! The beginning started off a bit slow for me! But like many others it quickly picked up the pace and before I knew it I was done with this great thriller! Quite a quick read!
Really enjoyed this book! Thanks NetGalley Publishers and author for this great advanced readers copy

A great read full of twists and turns. You think you know what’s going to happen and then another twist appears!
I enjoyed reading this book and eagerly wanted to get to the end to find out what happened!

I finished this book this morning and I really didn't see the final twist coming! I thought it was really good and it captivates you. One of the main characters, Ali, makes you feel like she's someone you already know or would like to know. There are several twists in this book - some I guessed and some i didn't see at all. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Secrets, lies and a dead body, all are perfect ingredients for a crime thriller. This is set on a weekend get-away in Portugal (I loved reading about a holiday during the UK's lockdown!) and when six, (three couples) become five the so-called friends are all under suspicion. A great summer read.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4

Rachel and Noah have been friends since they met at university. While they once thought they might be something more, now twenty years later, they are happily marries to other people. Jack and Paige respectively. Jack's brother is about to get married to impulsive Abi and the group of six travel to Portugal for their destination weekend. They arrive at a gorgeous villa where Rachel is looking forward to getting to know her future sister-in-law Ali better. but Ali rubs most of the group up the wrong way.

nearly everyone of the characters hides a horrible secret. If just one secret manages to surface, the friendships will quickly fall apart. The story covers: murder, adultery, suspicions and secrets. I didn't feel sorry or like any of the characters. There's parts of the story that drag out, but the last few chapters were worth waiting for.
when Rachel learns certain truths about Ali, the plotline spirals. And there's the death of one of the characters. I did feel the second part of the book was a bit rushed.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #PanMacmillan and the author #SandieJones for my ARC of #TheGuiltTrip in exchange for an honest review.

Overall I did enjoy this and would recommend it to others, but there was definitely something lacking for me. There were plenty of twists and turns, which kept me gripped and wanting to know what happens next, but at the same time, the dynamics between the friends seemed a little off, which made sense as you discovered what had happened between them all, but at the same time made it weird that they had managed to remain such close friends for so long.

The ending is what really let this down though. It's ridiculous. There are better ways of achieving the same effect/result without having to be so over the top. Still, it clearly worked for some readers and I'd still say this book is worth reading if you're looking for some fun escapism that doesn't tax your brain too much.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC without obligation.

I thought this book had great potential but was left a bit disappointed. I didn’t think that it was a thriller at all and quite boring and repetitive. I think my expectations were too high from the description and that I would have enjoyed the book more as a rainy day book.

I gave it three out of five stars as it wasn’t a terrible book but it could have been so much better.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for my advanced copy.

Firstly a big thank you to the publishers for my copy to review on netgalley. I have absolutely loved her previous books so was excited to dig in !

This is another cracking read ! Friendship and marriages are put to the test on a trip away. What should be a fun packed escape turns into a stressful event.

Drinks are poured, secrets are shared and is revenge on the cards? Who can be trusted?

Fast paced and a great range of flawed characters. I raced through this .

Compelling and twisty this makes the perfect summer read .

Rachel's brother in law is getting married and along with her husband and two close arrived friends they arrive in Portugal a few days before the wedding to enjoy some time together. However, things aren't quite as they seem and tensions surface and long forgotten feelings re-emerge with deadly consequences.

This was a thoroughly gripping novel; and followed Rachel and her questioning of the wedding party intently. As more secrets were revealed I couldn't put the book down and when the shocking conclusion came I was shocked.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of the novel in exchange for an honest review

A really fun read! Having read The Other Woman I knew I was in for a shock twist and yet I still didn’t see this coming.
4 stars.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong....?
A forthcoming wedding, three couples - five lifelong friends and a new addition to the group - and a weekend getaway to sunny Portugal. Sounds perfect? After all, what could possibly go wrong? As the weekend comes to a close only five of the group remain. Hugely enjoyable, fast paced suspense with a well drawn cast of characters and plenty of surprises. Perfect escapism.

I could not put this down! But I’m not surprised because Sandi always produces 5 star reads with twists that give you whiplash! And this one does not disappoint.

It took me a moment to settle into reading it - as there are a lot of relationships and friendships so I kept forgetting who was who and married to who! (I think that’s just me rather than the book! 😂)

The story has a quick pace, it’s set over a few days. As the characters find out more, you can feel the tension rising. If you’re like me, you will try and work everything out before it happens.

This would be a fab holiday read, Add it to your wish lists! You won’t be disappointed!

Another solid domestic suspense novel by Sandie Jones with relatable characters (I loved Ali!), a gorgeous setting and realistic dialogue. I did guess some of the twists early on but in no way did that detract from the reading experience. Highly recommended.

I couldn't put this book down as the author captured my imagination from the get do with the who did who with what and for how long. Everyone seemed to be suspicious and it kept me guessing as to who was the guilty party. I was slightly disappointed with the ending as if felt the book finished without the closure I wanted.

3 couples travel from London to the coast of Portugal for the wedding of one of the couples. Problems arise when the infidelity is suspected between various participants in the trip.

This was a quick read. I found myself interested in how things would turn out and the end was surprising. Another pretty good read from this author.

Rachel and Noah have been best friends for over 20 years since meeting at university and for many people appeared to be the perfect couple. Fate conspired however to keep them apart in a romantic sense and both are now happily married to other people - Rachel to Jack and Noah to Paige - and the foursome enjoy a long standing and close friendship. Jack's brother Will is finally settling down to marry the beautiful and seemingly high maintenance Ali after many years travelling the world and the wedding is taking place over a weekend in a glorious Portugal setting.
We join the story as Rachel and Jack, Noah and Paige and Ali are about to depart for Portugal to join Will and begin the wedding celebrations and from the outset it is clear that there is tension within the group and no one seems overly fond of the dramatic and attention-seeking Ali.
Despite previously working for Jack and meeting Will through his brother it seems that most of the tension is between Jack and Ali - in fact Jack seems openly hostile towards Ali and when questioned by Rachel claims that he knows that Ali was unfaithful to Will with another colleague. Ali meanwhile appears to be toying with Jack's feelings towards her by being openly flirtatious and seeking out his attention at any opportunity despite his obvious discomfort around her.
The wedding finally takes place but secrets have a habit of coming out and during the course of a tense reception the lies, infidelities and suspicions of the entire group explode culminating in a shocking act of violence.
I am becoming a huge fan of Sandie Jones and this latest book is my favourite to date. I particularly enjoy the easy flow of the writing and the complicated but realistic characters and the only negative for me was a slightly rushed ending where the full extent of deceit and lies was revealed over the final couple of pages. I felt that this could possibly have been expanded slightly. A very minor issue and did not really detract from my overall enjoyment.
4 stars and huge thanks to Netgalley UK and publishers for the ARC.

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed all of Sandie Jones' previous books, I went into this with high expectations. I have to be really honest and say that this just didn't hit the spot for me. It's presented as a thriller, but it falls short of this category by a long shot in my opinion. It's more a case of low level drama and betrayal.
The book ambles along at a medium pace, until the final few chapters where it really ramps up. For me, the ending is unbelievable and comes out of the blue. I didn't particularly like any of the characters, and found it a bit implausible that this foursome would be such a good, close group of friends, given what was going on between them.
That being said, it is still written in Jones' typical engaging way and did leave me wanting to finish the book to answer my questions. I would recommend as a quick, easy and mildly gripping read, but I felt it lacked Jones' usual punchy style.

Thank you to Pan Macmillan and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review.

I persevered with this book to see how it would end but I didn’t really find it engaging. The characters didn’t really have any depth and I found that I didn’t really grow to care about any of them! There was some promise in the overall plot where a number of people gathered in a beautiful location for a wedding with all sorts of secrets coming to light over the course of a few days. But sadly it didn’t live up to the potential.

Sandie Jones just keeps getting better. Another clever domestic thriller with enough twists and turns to keep the reader turning the page quickly to find out just what is behind the secrets these three couples keep. The ending is not at all what you expect!
