This is definitely a beach read. You can imagine a group of friends going on holiday and hell to break loose. You never know what’s is going to happen on holiday

I have loved Sandie Jones’ previous novels, and so it was no surprise to me that this one was so good! The story of a group of friends going on vacation turns into a bit of a nightmare, which goes to show you never know who the people closest to you really are...

What a fantastic read this was! From the opening few chapters I was absolutely hooked. The constant lies, betrayals, twists and turns kept me guessing and although the ending was very dramatic, I really enjoyed it!
I felt the characters all had depth, especially Rachel, and I really loved the dimension Ali added to the story.
The story is fast paced, thrilling and full of suspense. I raced through it as I had to know what happened.
I haven't read the author's other books but I would definitely read them now. I will be recommending this book to friends and family for sure. Thank you for giving me the privilege of reading this before the publication.

I flew threw this book, from the first page it captivated me in a way that I needed to know what the answers were to the questions that were brought up in this page-turner.

We follow a bunch of friends some with connections from many years ago and one new member, Ali to the group. I loved Rachel as the main character and really warmed to this women who was questioning her husband, who was the father to her grown up son and her friendships. They go abroad for Ali and Will's wedding and so starts this delicious story. I do not want to give much else away, but you will not regret reading this book at all.

This book is the perfect "get lost in the pages" read and would be a perfect holiday read. This is my first book by Sandie Jones and I will be looking out for her others.

Thanks to Netgalley and Sandie Jones for an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. There were so many twists and turns that I didn’t know what was coming next. The ending was also great. I am hoping there are more great books to come from this author as I was hooked from the first page!

Rachel and Noah have been friends for 20 years. Now married to other people, they travel abroad for a wedding. Ali is Rachel’s brother in law’s fiancée. She is loud and outgoing. Can she be trusted?

As Rachel’s world crumbles around her, there are more questions than answers. Why is Ali lying? Can Rachel keep her secrets secure? Is Noah as saintly as Rachel believes he is?

The Premise of this novel was tempting and drew me in. Despite the extensive scene setting early on, I enjoyed it as it progressed, becoming much more fast paced in the second half of the book. The characters were introduced well and the relationships between them developed as the book continued.

An enjoyable, quick read. I completed in less than a week, which is fast for me!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

This was a read full of mixed messages, cross wires and misunderstandings but it led to read full of secrets and lies.

Rachel and Jack are going to Portugal with their best friends Paige and Noah to attend the wedding of Jack's brother, Will to Ali.

Jack doesn't want Jack to marry Ali, but what is the reason?

Jack says Ali is having an affair with an old work colleague
Rachel is suspicious of Jack and his behaviour around Ali...
Paige thinks Jack is the one having the affair
Noah has never really gotten over his feelings for his old 'friend' Rachel
Rachel has a secret never to be told
Ali seems to be pulling at all the loose strands holding these friends together
And Will...well he just seems oblivious!

Really enjoyed this read.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book this is my honest opinion

More of a domestic drama and toxic friend drama than a thriller but it was good to spend time with such strange people with secrets coming out from every pore! They might all be on holiday but they have all brought baggage of every kind and soon things get very dark indeed. I do like a novel with twisty friends like this.
The ending was a nice surprise and this might well make you happy travel is restricted at the minute if your trip turns out like this one! haha

This was exactly what I expected from Sandie Jones . Extremely entertaining and easy to read with lots of melodrama !!!! Rachel is happily married to Jack , and are accompanying their good friends Paige and Noah to a lovely villa in Portugal to celebrate the marriage of Hacks brother Will to the scatty Ali . Ali seems to rub everyone up the wrong way , and events unfurl that make Rachel believe that something is going on with Ali and Jack .
It seems that everyone has secrets that they are trying to prevent coming out . Should Rachel trust her feelings or is something else happening here . Fantastic beach read !!!

Much Thanks to Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for the advance copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this, iv not read anything by this author before and I definitely would seek out other books by her.
I enjoyed the twists and the turns and getting to know the characters, it’s hard to know why they wer all friends though but this added to the storyline. I feel Portugal could have been described more but this would make an excellent beach read and puts you in the mood for a holiday though with nicer friends, I would definitely recommend this book!

This book was an automatic request for me as I enjoyed Sandie Jones books before and was desperate for more!
Ultimately, this fell a little flat for me. I still enjoyed it, it was worth reading, but it wasn’t a thriller, it was more drama. I was expecting some crazy twists but I could see everything coming a mile off. I was just hoping for more. I’d recommend to those who want domestic dramas for sure as it’s a fun read if you’re not expecting a thriller.

I've never read anything by this author before but I love psychological thrillers based abroad so I was eager to read this one.

I was instantly drawn into the dynamics of the group of friends and couldn't wait to find out what all the secrets were. I enjoyed not knowing who to trust and still wasn't sure until near the end. The author did a good job of dropping little hints and sewing seeds of doubt. All of the characters were well developed apart from maybe Jack, I never really got a sense of his personality and what drew Rachel to him in the first place. Ali was a really good character and I couldn't help but like her even when some of her behaviours were a bit dodgy!

The ending was a bit far-fetched but I did like it, and most of the loose ends were nicely tied together. I do think a little more could have been made of the location as it was sometimes quite easy to forget that the book was set in Portugal. Apart from the occasional mention, it could have been set anywhere really.

Overall I would recommend this book. It kept me compulsively reading it and I would definitely read more by the author.

Outstanding psychological thriller from the author of The Other Woman.
Rachel and Noah have been friends since they met at university. While they once thought that they might be something more, now, twenty years later, they are each happily married to other people, Jack and Paige respectively. Jack's brother Will is getting married, to the dazzling, impulsive Ali, and the group of six travel to Portugal for their destination weekend.
As they arrive at a gorgeous villa perched on a cliff-edge, overlooking towering waves that crash on the famous surfing beaches below at Nazaré, they try to settle into a weekend of fun. While Rachel is looking forward to getting to know her future sister-in-law Ali better, Ali can't help but rub many of the group up the wrong way: Rachel's best friend Paige thinks Ali is attention-seeking and childish, and while Jack is trying to support his brother Will's choice of wife, he is also finding plenty to disagree with Noah about
But when Rachel discovers something about Ali that she can hardly believe, everything changes. As the wedding weekend unfolds, the secrets each of them hold begin to spill, and friendships and marriages threaten to unravel. Soon, jumping to conclusions becomes the difference between life and death.
I loved this book. Highly recommended.

Thank you to netgalley for access to this advance reader Copy.

This would be a great beach read. It starts with a policeman at the door. Then it flash’s back. A group of friends go abroad together. Then they’re friendship group slowly unravels. Makes you wonder why anybody is friends. Several twists.
