The illustrations in this book are adorable. That's why it got 4 stars instead of 3. The story is simple and easy for young readers to follow.

With the cutest illustrations, this book teaches kids the lessons of boundaries with wild animals (specifically ducks). I like that Eve learned how to interact with the ducks in an appropriate way.

I wanted to love this book because the illustrations are just so beautiful but for me the story felt too basic (it didn't explore how she felt when she fell in the water or why she stayed away after) and the sentences seemed too blunt and simplistic (even for a children's book). I would have liked the grandpa and girl to have had a chat about the ducks and how to approach them.

This is a sweet book and I loved the relationship of Eve with her Grandpa. It did seem a little bit sad that she gave up so easily after falling in the water, but at the same time... I get it! And she found a way to interact with the ducks at the end. I could’ve done with a few more pages for resolution at the end. The illustrations are great!

Great book, that shows how simply you can enjoy nature, without harming it.
My favorite part was duck feeding with sunflower seeds, not the bread.

A lovely book with very cute illustrations with a very simple message - be nice to animals!
Not all animals want to be hugged, stroked and touched and you must respect that.

‘Eve’s Ducklings’ is a picture book about Eve, who has gone to the lake with her grandfather. In the lake, there were some ducklings. She makes up her mind that she would hold, pet, hug, and every other thing you could do to a duckling. (Except things which are bad for ducklings, like hurt one.) Does she ever get to at least do one of the things she wants to do?
Read this funny picture book to find out! This book has beautiful illustrations and a great cover.

I give this book 5/5 stars as it is hilarious. I would love to read more by this author.

The strength of this book is in its message. I think that this book could be used for children who are wanting a pet, for example, to learn how to treat animals and nature with kindness, respect, and patience. Normally, these characteristics may translate into gaining the trust of some animals. Importantly, Eve learns about treating the ducklings with respect and ensuring that she listens to her grandpa. They end up coming to her and she is able to feed them. While this may or may not ever happen in real life, the result is a happy ending.

The illustrations are cute.

I'd categorize this as a "borrow" not a buy.

Joyous little picture book with a simple tale about discovering and feeding ducklings, and the importance of being kind to animals and our environment.
