I know what to expect from a Katie Knight book. Still, the book felt rushed and it couldn't hold my attention for more than a few chapters at a time. I didn't get Brock and Monica's relationship which is the whole point of a romance book. I don't know if my sleepy brain missed something in the beginning and that's the reason for me not connecting or if it would have happened anyways. I will go with the later because some things just didn't make sense or worked organically. First of all baby Aaron's parents were into some shady stuff and the lady in charge didn't think of mentioning it? And when they knew the baby was in danger why did a Navy Seal think it was a good idea to just leave it alone? As for the blizzard/storm/w.e people seemed to be able to come and go as they pleased so why did the main characters stayed at a house that had problems and was getting heated by a backup generator? And finally, the thing that bothered me the most was the feeling that Brocked settled and was forced into the family he and Monica made

Really enjoyed reading Brock and Monica's story and loved that it was based in Minnesota where I live. I've never been through a blizzard like they experienced but winter can definitely be rough here. I couldn't stop reading once I started because I had to find out what happened next. I loved going through Brock's emotions as he grew throughout the book. I definitely recommend reading this and would love to read more from these authors!

Two high school sweethearts broke up but one crazy night years later bring them back together. Then a couple months later they spend a few nights together taking care of an orphan baby, staying safe and falling in love again. So much going on to come back together again. Glad I read this one.

This is a brilliant read full of drama, emotion and suspense but also a love that can't be denied. Brock is still grieving his sister's death but when a care worker turns up with a baby for his sister to foster he is stuck. I really liked their history together and it was good to them fight for a common goal with Cottonball the dog. What a great name for a dog. A great read, losing yourself in a romance for a few hours.

Brock was a Navy SEAL who recently lost his sister. He suddenly found himself in an unexpected situation. A foster baby on his doorstep and his ex-girlfriend, Monica showed up with the news of her pregnancy. They started spent time together and found their old feelings never went away but Brock was reluctant to let Monica in. When the foster baby and his pregnant ex-girlfriend's life was in danger, he had to ensure their safety as well as deal with his pent up feelings. In the process, hopes were crushed and feelings got hurt too. But Brock finally let go of his fears and confessed his love for Monica.

Leslie North consistently brings great characters and passionate romance to life. As a big fan North's, her name provokes an automatic one-click from me. I am always entertained. I love it when she also teams with new to me authors.

I received a complimentary copy of Protecting His Pregnant Wife in exchange for an honest review. The narrative was well written and easy to read, but the storyline and dialogue kept stalling. I was also hoping for a little more personality and chemistry between Brock and Monica, but that never really happened. This totally didn't impact or sway my review, but did any other readers notice the mistake with the getaway vehicle? At first it was a snowmobile and later it was an ATV. Overall, this was a decent read with a happily ever after.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This book is a light read-no deep thinking, just a way to relax with a happy ending. I found it pretty unbelievable but who cares, it was fun. There were some unexpected twists, but overall a pretty straightforward fun easy quick read. I think most romance readers would enjoy. 3.5 stars

A Seal, on leave to cope with his sister's death, had previously sought comfort with his childhood friend.

Two months later, she tells him they are going to be parents, while being impromptu emergency foster carers for an orphaned baby boy, whose parents have been murdered in a drugs war cartel power struggle..

This brings its own dangerous situations, with drug money searching criminals, who kidnap the baby while they try to find evidence of where the money is hidden.

The hardened, emotionless, cold on the outside Seal, is finding it harder and harder to remain that way.

They both love each other deeply, both as friends and lovers, this cannot be ignored and they admit their feelings to each other.

With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story of love, commitment, the joys of the new life of their baby and their future marriage nuptials with everlasting happiness.

This is a little different from the usual pregnant ex trope. Brock is home for his sister’s funeral. Monica shows up at just the right moment. She’s there to tell him she’s carrying his baby and instead finds a social worker trying to leave an emergency foster with his sister. There are some parts that seem a little odd and some interesting quirks to go with them. Just when it seemed to be getting repetitive, the story would move on.
A good read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author, the publisher and NetGalley and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own.

Another brilliant read from Leslie North! I've been reading many of her books lately and I've loved every single one. However, Protecting His Pregnant Ex has been one of the best yet. The twist towards the end really made the book interesting.

Good read, although, many of the “problems” that The main character, Brock had were never brought to light. A quick, easy read. Much drama, angst and a little mystery with of course the requisite HEA ending. Great beach read with a terrible title.

This was an enjoyable read following a formula that generally works. While predictable, there were a few twists that I didn’t t see coming. All in all, enjoyable and I’ll be reading others by this author.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Protecting His Pregnant Ex by Katie Knight and Leslie North from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The storyline was engaging and the plot moved along fairly rapidly. I liked the dynamic and dialogue between our main characters, Monica and Brock, and the emotional connection each character expressed for the other (wasn’t one-sided). Add in a cute dog, a baby, and some suspense and it was an enjoyable book for a rainy day.

Overall, I thought this novel was fun to read.

I didn't really enjoy this book, if I'm being honest. I didn't find myself reaching for it.

The story is okay in general but it just didn't grip me. I didn't find myself having any connection to characters. I felt it lacked description and repeated parts unnecessarily to get the point across.

If you are looking for a light happily ever after book this is it. It has a decent plot, relatable characters with a romance and a mystery. Thank you to net galley for a copy.

Sometimes you are in the mood for a serious read--and other times you pick up a book like this. All you have to do is read the blub above to realize that this book is going to start with an improbable premise and it wasn't hard to image that a lot of other things that wouldn't be likely in real life would happen in this book. No, I can't say there was anything about the book that surprised me or made me think the publisher tried a bait-and-switch with the blub. I got exactly what I expected, including a happily ever after and some vivid bedroom scenes. If excessive realism in a romance novel is not necessary for you to enjoy it, this could be right up your alley.

I'd like to thank the publisher for making a review copy available via NetGalley. Grade: B-. This book can be accessed via a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
